I'm Loreina, most call me Lorei (Lor-A). I'm a Sitter of the Green Ajah at the WT. I'm also the Ogier Elder of Stedding Lantoine. Welcome to the craziness that is DM. *hugs*

The stickys, yes, very important. *G* The only other really important thing is that the orgs are not like the books. The Seanchan review movies and games, the Band does music, the Children of Light (CoL) are just plain crazy. The Illuminators are all things artistic. And so on.

DM has a lot to choose from, so just wander around and visit. All the orgs welcome newcomers.  ;) :)

Looking at those stickies will help as it will outline what happens at DM for you. Loreina has outlined some of what the ORGs do (psst...join the Band of the Red Hand - you know you want to! ;)), but there is also that dark, shadowy, underground world known as RP. They are all servants of the Dark One, and have strange rituals that keep you bound to them for ever and ever! You have been warned!

 

But whatever you do at DM, have fun!

Alright thanks i would like to learn about these ORG's tho they seem pretty cool how to i join one?

Before you decide for sure to join an Org, you can visit its public board as a guest, post a newcomer's thread, and ask some questions of the members.  No one expects you to join something you know nothing about.  :) Then after you've decided to join, just tell them, and they'll take it from there!

 

Some Orgs are like clubs; some are more like families. Most Orgs do have a 'raising' system. They require you to do things within the Org, to earn your rank and privileges. It's all fun, yet serious too. For example, in the White Tower, you must start off as a Novice or an Algai. You do things like participate in classes or hold discussions to earn promotion to the next level, Accepted or Manshima. Then you do more tasks to get promoted to Aes Sedai or der'Manshima. But it's just fun stuff.  :)

Wow that  sounds pretty awsome. and is there a place were i can get a sig? Because i have no images that have to do with the WoT and i was suprised when i found all the ones in the forums.

Absolutely! Go the the Signature request thread at the Illuminators Org. Keep it fairly simple, and they'll fix you up!

generally anything with a * surrounding it is an action, some of us use an / at the beginning of the sentence instead.

i think all the orgs are:

Aiel, Band, Ogier, Seanchan, Kin, White Tower, Wolfkin, black tower, illuminators, and shay ghul

 

remember that you can belong to any number of associations on DM, but don't spread yourself too thin

 

the site also has a fantastic RP section if you feel inclined^^

 

For fun and games or spam we have the fiddles and organized games area slightly above the orgs section

 

and for book discussions we have the stuff at the top, since you've read all the books feel free to roam around the general section, you'll find a plethora of subjects!
