I tried asking this question on another thread but didn't get an answer so I will try again.

 

Why must a man control the link in a circle of one man and one woman?

 

The woman must start the link so why must she give up control to the man?

We don't know--its just one of the chariteristics of a link. A function of the metaphysics of the Wheel.

 

It's possible Moridin might be able to explain it--Asmodean implies that philosophers studied such things in the Age of Legends, but yes, we don't know it--we only know that it is the case.

I can see it now!  Appearing in the Weekend section of the Darkfriends Daily Herald:  "Ask Moridin"  (Careful what you ask; he's been known to be a bit rough with those that displease him.)  I wonder what kind of questions might be asked?

I might have risk my life and ask Moridin though. Moridin will of course say "I can tell you but I would have kill you." sigh I really hate the Forsaken. They should just all burn in Hell.

Why can't women feel saidin but men feel saidar? Why do women Travel by assimilating two places while men drill a hole between them? Why do you have to fiercely fight against saidin but calmly surrender to saidar? Why can't fish fly and birds swim?

Why can't women feel saidin but men feel saidar?

 

I actually have a theory about that. It goes--imagine saidin and saidar as an ocean. Saidin is the choppy, storm tossed waves on top, saidar the deep, seemingly tranquil ocean floor--yet with the much, much stronger currents.

 

Men have to fight to control the chaotic waves of saidin, but women have to submit to the strong currents of saidar, for the obvious reasons--you can't ride such waves, you'll be overturned, you have to go through them, and but down below the currents are too strong to fight. It also explains why men are strong--a man reaching out to scoop up saidin would not need to go as deep to get great quantity, but a woman would have to reach first through saidin, and thus wouldn't be able to reach as far.

 

And it explains why men sense women holding saidar, but not vice versa, because saidar has to come to women through saidin.

 

Of course its all wishwash i came up with in an idle moment, lol....

Um... no because Some fish CAN fly and LOADS of bird swim - penguins, gulls, terns etc

Now why can't cats fly and fish climb trees is probably better.  ;)

 

Men can probably sense women channeling because it's a balance to the fact they can't link with other men alone whereas women can link with men OR women

Well, you get the point -_-. Besides, I took that expression directly from the books to stress the fact that there's no use to asking such questions, since some things are just the way they are.
