Wake from the Dream

The Aiel believe that this life is a dream, and that one day, they will be killed in this life, and "wake from the dream", to ... can it be called an afterlife if they don't believe they're alive now? For the sake of argument, to a 'waking life', if this is a 'dreaming life'.

 

Egwene is a Dreamer, which means that she sees things which will happen, in dreams. If you dream, inside a dream, are you seeing reality? I'm not sure if that makes sense but what I mean is...

 

We know Rand has to be die and somehow be re-born.

 

What if the Aiel are right, if all of this is a dream, and when Rand is killed, he will 'wake from the dream' to a new, real life? What if what Egwene dreams is what happens after waking?

 

What if the 'reborn souls' we see - LTT is the prime example - are actually the real souls, they have woken from the dream and now live an existence... outside. But maybe LTT is caught in the loop. He cannot truly wake from the dream because he has this unfortunate habit of being recycled into another body which is still in the Dream. So he wants Rand to die, HE wants to die in the hope that he won't be recycled this time, (or that Rand's mind will be the one which is recycled) and he will be free, presumably (in this theory) to live his waking life...

 

Does any of this make sense?

 

If you DO wake to a 'waking life', is it still in this world? If you die in your 'waking life', are you dead forever? Could Rand die, 'wake from the dream' and thus have a 2nd life in which he can live, having spilt his blood onto the rocks of Shayol Ghul, red on black, the Dragon's sacrifice for man's salvation or whatever the prophecy was...

    Man, you have some amazing questions. My little brain can't seem to figure out it all, but I believe with LTT the "waking of the dream" would mean to him, peace and hopefully a chance to be with his wife and kids. Is it an afterlife, a limbo, something else? I don't know, but I believe he deserves it.

Dude your queston blows my mind. You must ahve put alot of thought into ot and I think it is a great theory. I would love to see it play out.
