Happy New Year Kinlings!!!  Can't believe how quickly the time is flying by already!!

 

FIrst off...Thank you everyone who participated in the December Activities!!!  *grins*  It was really fun to have so many of you around, involved and to play with!!  Many of you earned lots of points!!!  LOL..as soon as I get them all tallied they will be posted on the Current Member list at the Farm!!     Keep an eye open at the Farm for January Raisings to celebrate with your fellow Kinsters!!!

Resolutions

Traditionally we have a Resolution thread to post your New Year's Resolutions and/or goals for the coming year!  In 2008 we will carry on that tradition!  The very cool thing about this....is it is an ongoing thread for the year!  We check back in with each other to ask how you're doing, be cheerleaders and supporters! 

 

I will start the thread and I encourage all of you to post your resolutiotions, hopes and goals for the coming year!!! The fun..is checking back in on each other with encouragement, :D consolations  :'( and cheer leading  ;D  Or, checking back in to moan and cry and grumble when you feel like you are coming up a little short with yourself!  :-[ :-\

 

 

Super "Souper" Bowl!

A wonderful thing happens every at the beginning of the year...the SOUPERBOWL!! *grins* nope didn't mispell it either! A grass roots movement started back in the '90's as a way to help empower youth to make a difference in thier communities. The organizers choose Superbowl Sunday...and had youth at church's, youth groups like the Scouts and school clubs and community centers collect cans of soup and money  for their local food banks. Since that first collection the idea has grown to be a significant contribution to the hungry and the homeless.  I  think that the actual Super Bowl is involved in this now, collecting a can of soup from people attending the Game!  For more details you can check out thier official Website here:

Penguin Appreciation Day!

That's right!  January 20th is Penguin Appreciation Day!!!  *bounces and giggles*  One of our very own Kinster's loves Penguins and collects them even!  Don't think he has any live ones though..... :D   To celebrate and welcome Kell back home, we are going to celebrate Penguin's with him all month long!!!  Keep an eye open for the Penguin party, share your favorite Penguin picture or anecdote, joke or story on the January check in thread, AND..Kat is making us an avatar to use for the month!!!  When she gets it ready, I will post the link here!!!

 

Taking Care of Business....Kin Style

The beginning of the year is a great time to Organize and Plan!  I love doing both of those things!!!  8)  At the Farm we will be discussing our 2008 activities in the Kinling Planning thread!   Dive right in with your ideas and thoughts!  We also need to update our Birthday and Address file!  Check out the thread at the Farm and tell us when your Birthday is and any ideas you have for celebrating birthdays in the Kin!  I know that we do have many of your birthdays already, but we do need to update addresses and email addresses!!

 

Looking ahead...

February is Valentine's Day!!  If you want to participate in exchanging Valentine Cards or be in the Cupid Exchange, please sign up by January 31st!  This way, everyone has time to mail thier Valentine's by February 10th to get them out on time!
