Ajah Letter

Jenny gave me a heads up today that the old Ajah description, predating the current WT staff, was still in place and asked whether it needed changes.  Considering that the contending doctrines and the like weren't in place then, its fairly safe to say they do.  Here is the old one:

 

The White Ajah

Sisters of Logic - considered cold, calculating, and devoid of all emotion by their peers: the White Ajah is known for its abstention from what they see as the illogical practices of the 'real' world. Seeking and pursuing the divine truth in life is their goal and the Whites can be ruthless when pursuing it. These aggressive traits are not taught by the Ajah, nor do they actively pursue them in their initiates, but they seem to be a common feature present in White Sisters. Sisters who choose the White Ajah are not without emotion or feelings; they have just learned to master their internal controls to create a domineering personality. Their belief is that only when you are sure of your emotions can you see through the words that others speak to find the truth of a situation. A common phrase of White Sister's is "only by peeling off the layers of emotion, like the skin from an onion, are you able to reach the heart of a matter."

I've written up a possible replacement, its here for you guys to look at and either give the thumbs up, suggest changes, rip into or if its that bad, for you guys to offer an alternative.  Here goes:

 

The White Ajah

 

Enigmatic.

 

That is possibly the first and best description that one can apply to the sisters of the White Ajah.  Inscrutable in many ways, as the smallest Ajah it is also the one that the least is known.  Their sisters maintaining a reputation for logic and pragmatic behaviour, their emotions are well disciplined.  This isn't to say that their feelings are absent, even though there are some who betray nothing there are others who are equally capable of wearing their feelings on their sleeve.  It simply means that when the time comes, they are capable of putting such aside to focus on a particular task or problem.

 

But, their enigmatic nature truly comes from the paradox they can present.  One moment a white sister may speak the truth more bluntly than most may care to hear, the next she may speak in such abstract terms that even her fellow sisters may be given pause to understand the meaning of what was uttered.  But one thing is prime amongst all considerations in the White, the truth.  The manner in which it is reached and where to search are for each sister to decide for themselves when they are ready.

 

Sisters of the White Ajah train their minds, in one way or another they train them to solve problems, questions, be they abstractly ethical or more mundane in nature.  White sisters as a result can not only apply these skills to a broad range of fields, but they particularly excel at analysis and investigation for their primary role in the search of the truth is to question.
