Let me start by saying I'm deeply sorry for RJ's family and other loved ones.  I don't in the least want to come across as callous to their pain.  As the weeks have passed since RJ's departure the initial panic that the series will never be finished has passed.  I have spent years waiting for the next book, hours reading and rereading the existing ones.  I was crushed at the thought of not knowing how everything plays out.  The annoucement that RJ prepared for the possibility that he would not see his work finished eased my fears.  Now I know if I am just patient those who were close to him will see it finished.

However what about those other two prequels?  I am just a little bit curious to know if there was any contingency plan for those.  If not I'm sure I'll be fine, but it would be nice to be able to read those.  Does anyone know anything about any plans for those two books?

To close this I would like to express my admiration for RJ.  I know a little something about what he went through.  On my way home from my honeymoon I found a lump on my neck while shaving.  That lump turned out to be a rare form of blood cancer.  6 weeks later I was in a bone marrow transplant unit with a diagnosis of stage 4 Burkitt's Lymphoma with a 50/50 shot at living through the next few days.  Fortunately for me and my new bride I survived after months of intense chemotherapy.  I am now a few months shy of two years cancer free.

My point in this is I could barely function.  The pain, vomiting, and nadirs were almost unbearable.  Going through that RJ found it in him to continue his work.  He found it in him to write in his blog to let his fans know how he was doing.  An amazing man in so many ways.  Rest in Peace RJ.

I haven't heard anything close to an official announcement, but I'm assuming the prequels are now bunk with Jordan's passing.  It's too bad, it would have been really cool to read about Tam's past, and the other one was about how Moiraine and Lan showed up in the Two Rivers just in time.  I think it's safe to say they'll probably never be written, along with any "outrigger novels" in the Wheel of Time universe that Jordan had considered writing (I hear one was supposed to be about Mat and Tuon, although I can't recall where I read that).  I have to say though, it's probably for the best.  I think most fans are a little put off by the idea of someone finishing A Memory of Light, and Jordan had already written some of that.  I can only imagine that there wouldn't be a great reaction to another author writing a Wheel of Time book, prequel or no, completely on their own.  Like many fans, though, I know in regards to the fate of the series, I'm much more concerned with A Memory of Light than I am any prequels!  I'm sure you agree there as well.

It would have been nice to see what Infinity of Heaven would have been like, two, but alas, the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.
