Ok, i need a new series to read and i hope you guys can help!

Im mostly into Fantasy books but i like horror and sci-fi aswel, books based on reality not so much :D

the one thing that really annoys me in books is over complicated names, it just annoys me!ie Stephen Ericson/R. Scott Baker

my faveroite series to date are:

A Song of Ice and Fire

LOTR

His Dark Materials

Feist's books are good.....

like Irvine aswel.

Any sugestions would be great!

well there are a million of these threads on here so you could just glance in one of them, but authors to look into would be:

Tad Williams: Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, Otherland, Shadowplay

Roger Zelazny: The Chronicles of Amber, Lord of Light

Frank Herbert: The Chornicles of Dune

C.S. Friedman: The Coldfire Trilogy

Issac Asmoiv: Foundation series

Gene Wolfe: The Book of the New Sun, The Book of the Long Sun

Stephen Lynch: The Lies of Locke Lamora

Stephen R. Donaldson: The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant

Daniel Abraham: The Long Price Quartet

Start by looking through some of those.

I can understand Bakker (his names are mostly real, btw, they're lifted from Greek/Persian history) but Erikson? He often gets dissed for having silly but easily understandable and short names (Hedge, Picker, Blend, Tattersail etc). They're the two best epic fantasy writers working today (after Martin), but not everyone gets on with them.

Guy Gavriel Kay is probably the other author on a par with those three. Check out The Lions of Al-Rassan.

has the second book been released in donaldson's "last chronicles"?

Check Amazon.com (or .co.uk). I think Fatal Revenant is out in the next few weeks.
