The Reds are the largest Ajah, so statistically speaking there should be more Black in them than in others, but I now can't recall what the percentages are. Ie who has the highest percent of Black, etc.

Would be good if someone could refresh my ailing memory - don't have the time right now to research.

It appears that Black Sisters can be found more or less frequently across all the other Ajahs. Are they most numerous among the Reds, and if so, what might explain this?

Reds also take no warders. A sister with a non black warder would have a difficult time hiding potential activities from them.

Unless both of them are black! Though I can't recall any couple where both serve the shadow. But of course I could be mistaken and I could have forgotten it. Moreover, I believe that such a combination—an Aes Sedai together with her Warder in black—would constitute an exceptionally formidable pairing, wouldn' they?

I am not saying that finding a Black warder is impossible just that it removes a complication.

There are a few Black warders mentioned in the book.

Thomas who is Verin's warder is confirmed to be Black during the reveal with Egwene.

I can't remember the sister's name but a Green/Black thinks about how she had relaxed masking her bond and that 2 of her 3 warders approaching where tied to the shadow.

Elza Penfell was a Green who was "persuaded" by Verin to support Rand. Her warder, Fearil, was Black.

Not sure which one you're referring to, @Mailman

Eldrith Jhondar was an Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah - she relaxed masking her bond with her Warder, Kennit, so he could follow her, but he was not a Darkfriend. In fact, he was trying to kill her for being Black.

I am speechless and utterly captivated by your ability to remember these details. Of course, I don’t know how long it has been since you read and analyzed WoT, but I can say with certainty that even right after finishing a volume, I myself no longer had all the details in mind. So, my sincere compliments to all of you!

I've been reading the WoT since the late 1990's, if I recall correctly. At some stage I started re-reading the whole series every time a new book came out, and then at least once more each year. I'd say I've read the earlier books at least 30 times. Even my terrible memory will retain some general bits and bobs ... lol

But just so you know, I had to double check the names (like Elza Penfell etc) because though the story sticks in my memory, I'm terrible with names. And dates.
