Aes Sedai deference - someone up for an RP?

Anyone up for some Aes Sedai deference?

 

I would like to deepen my character’s life in the white tower. I was thinking of some setting where my Aes Sedai is either caught doing something not quite proper for an Aes Sedai or catches someone else breaking some rule or a custom taken for a law. I don’t think this should be anything overtly major. And I don’t think it should lead to either party swearing fealty like some sisters have in the series, but if that leads to some kind of deference, that could be fun and maybe later it could be used in another RP?

 

I think it could be fun to RP the moment of catching / being caught and maybe all the subtle “negotiations” that follow to see what kind of “deference” will be established? What I mean is I guess if one side pushes too hard it will just lead to the caught sister maybe deciding a visit of the MON is better then to bow all that deep. Well, at least that is how I imagine it ;)

Lillian could help out there, she still hasn't met Aeveryn in an RP after all.  Though we assumed that Lillian took Aeveryn's class for Rossa when Rossa was a novice.  Intro that is :)

Lillian isn't one to strictly hold to rules, it would depend on which rule had been broken and why as to how Lillian would react.

Hey, I said “unusual endeavors“... For example Aeveryn is trying to work out darkfriends and how to sieve them out. I could imagine Aeveryn interrogate one of their kind, or one she believes to be of their kind and not be all that gentle with them. She could be caught doing that. Maybe we could even develop this into a thread with someone from SG? Aeveryn and Lillian could be out for some reason and are maybe attacked by a DF or something? Or somehow manage to get on a DF's track with different means? Maybe they bring that DF to somewhere within TV to question that person? But they keep that secret from the tower?

 

Jagen could then wonder what was going on between a white and a blue and follow and walk in on them being horrid to that DF. It could become chaotic and that DF could escape...

I was thinking that perhaps we could have it not long after that incident in the Dining Hall, and perhaps still in the Tower.  Maybe not quite something as heavy as Darkfriends either, got too many heavy storylines going on at once to add another one of that sort of weight.

Anything is fine with me. Aeveryn however is not the kind to break rules for the fun of it. Did you have any thoughts what it could be that they are caught doing? ??? I just think if it is too light Aevy would just laugh and stalk off and not feel like changing her attitude towards whomever does the accusing. Anyway. I'll think on it too.

That was something Jagen suggested and since you did not object I thought you were fine with that.

 

So you are set to catch Aevy? Secretly I was hoping I could do some catching myself :p Oh my, what did I start here. ;)

 

The only thing that comes to mind right now is that Aevy has another encounter with Jagen and gets really angry with her and decides to pay her back or so. (Aevy could think: „this red needs to be pulled down from her high horse“) But that is where it gets difficult. With the oaths and stuff. And I‘m not talking about a prank. It would not be something childish. It would be aimed at harming her reputation…

 

How about this: Signing with a different name, Aevy has a note delivered to Jagen (or some other red?) where it is being implied that the son of some respected Tar Valon citizen has shown the ability to channel. Maybe she even prepares two such letters from different „sources“ to make it more believable. Aeveryn would hope that Jagen would go there to evaluate matters or even arrest that young man. Maybe the man can not be easily accessed, so any attempt to get to him would require some effort, meaning she can not hope to assess the issue in silence? Since the accusations are not true, Aeveryn would hope Jagen gets into trouble for her actions or so.

 

Lillian could somehow find out and either spoil Aevy‘s plans (assuming the red would actually go for the trap) or prevent the trap entirely by intercepting the messages or even let the red proceed and step in afterwards.

 

Oh well… What do you think about this? And does this RP need approval? And ah… I am not sure if this is not too serious and heavy again.  ::)

Maybe Aeveryn does this, Jagen has Lillian accompany her and they both go to pick up the son.  When they discover that isn't the case, they follow the trail and discover it was Aeveryn and have a talk? :)

All right… although you do realize you would look silly to some degree for stepping into that „trap“? I mean to some third part it could look „funny“ that two sister set off to take someone that is not a channeler? And whatever Aevy would write, it would only be implications. I doubt she could outright lie about this poor boy being able to channel even if it is just written word. So I feel her main „fault“ would be to forge letters.

 

And before I sign my life away ;) what kind of gratitude would Lillian expect from Aeveryn? Will you consider to do some RP some point later where they reach even ground again?

 

Let me check with Jagen if she wants to participate and if the details are OK with her.

Actually I only popped in here on a joke but hey this sounds cool ^_^ Jagen would be so angry when she finds out it was a lie. And then start a search on who was behind it :P

I suspect Lillian would level the ground in the same RP, she has reservoir of patience in the right circumstances :)

 

To Lillian, Aevy's fault isn't so much the letter forging as it is wasting her fellow sister's time :)  If you want, Lillian can find something for Aevy to do to make up for it.
