Time mathmatics

Ok so decided to update Liithas profile as a golden chance too figure out where she was when left her of, and it seemed to me the last bio update lacked probably several years.

 

So anyone who like time puzles are welcome to help me find her somewhat current age

I figured she was at least 29 at her Headmaster ceremony by going through her RPs and making pointers of age

 

A trip to shienar she reflects she has passed the decades of life

 

Return to the yard she been away over a year

So by this time minimum 31

 

In another rp about her return she reflects it's been over two years since her BM ceremony. This was RPed in ooc time around may 06 and onward

 

In ooc time Sept 06 she is traveling again as she got bored quickly back in city and is meeting Con in amadicia and train with him some time, and then later meet and travel some with Anton learning. This is a rp to learn two fighting styles aka I am doing some requirement to level up the WS further 

 

End of ooc 06 to beginning of ooc 07 she meets Cara the first time, over three weeks later she meets her the second time and finds out Cara is an Aes Sedan. Their first meeting is around Liithas farm which she bought with inheritance from Ata so this is after her death.

 

Cara and Liitha become friends and lovers, heigh ho to baerleon we go is a rp where cara has requested that Liitha can be her escort, they both end up kidnapped but breaks free and so on..

 

In march 07 ooc time they travel to the borderlands and Cara knows how to open a gateway. They bond during this RP

 

In Sep 07 ooc they return to the tower by travel bringing with them phin an AS who been captured with the dark and let go and has possible thoughts of hurting the amerlyn she blames for sending her or something

 

Then there is some RPs where Cara is working on her talent making angreals trying to make bracelets which would help warders not geting tired as easily and be quicker.

 

In ooc sept 08 I got an rp that was signed with being a Grandmaster bonded too Cara

 

 

Still looking but has not found her grand master RP as figure there might be time clues in there too

 

Basically I am not good at geography obviously after traveling is discovered things can move quicker but before this it would take certain time covering distances on horseback. So anyone want to help figure out the logic of this time wise?

So, Liitha's 31, then she heads to Amador which would take at least 7-10 days of travelling on horseback. (A bit over 1000 miles at an average of 8mph if trotting. Clearly will be faster and slower at times, so I allowed for that.) If on foot, much longer. Plus however long her training takes with Con once there.

 

I don't know where she meets Anton or where they travel to so I can't comment on that.

 

Also don't know where Liitha's Farm is so I have no idea what the distance is from there to Baerlon with Cara...or even if they went somewhere else first. But obviously +3 weeks between their first and second meetings.

 

How long were they captive for in the kidnapping and how long did it take them to break free?

 

After that, given Cara knows how to create Gateways, distance becomes fairly irrelevant as far as time passing is concerned. It's just a matter of how long any actual action takes while they're in the Borderlands and, likewise, what time frame is covered by the RP's after returning to the Tower. Since they Travel back, the journey is irrelevant.

 

I'd venture to say it can't be more than 2-3 years at most reading that over but it's going to depend if you tied any of the RP's to main timeline events; by referring to changes in the weather for example. We're mid 1001 NE now because I've tied the book year we're working on to our own year. 

 

You could always just fudge it, ignore the logistics and call her 35 as of this point in the current timeline.

Don't think there is any references beyond the traveling thing. 

Yeah I got a inane feeling I had her at 34 at some time but find no defence too it. And I thought about doing 35-36 but I never fully got controll of traveling distances in wot time

 

Also I know they used to have a sort of guidance line for how long time realistic it would take to gain certain training in average. And I never fully got oversight of that either so just used to ask the mentors but I don't have any chat or msg system set up or seen much of them around to get quick answers on that

I would expect at least 3-6 months minimum, maybe, for a basic grounding in a new fighting style, if it was intensive one to one training with an experienced, capable fighter.

 

The whole WoT Randland continent is approx 3,000 to 3,500 miles from north to south, according to RJ and the various book map scales. I've also posted a thread on this board which lists some of the common distances for journeys between major cities, alongside journey times on foot and on horseback to help figure things out. Just if you need a reference in future.

 

I reckon 35 or 36 would be ample for your purposes. It's not like we haven't all fudged discrepancies sometimes so as long as it's at least plausible, you should be fine.

Yeah I never mention age in my rp's for that reason it's more for myself I just prefer knowing it somewhat to use in character development for what would be somewhat normal aka not akt as a teenager if your not well we all do sometimes but in general anyway ?

If you are looking as some aging references, 

Cairma was 26 when Liitha was 16 (roughly). Cairma is now 38. So if you want to age up based on experience, I upped Conor from 16 to 32 because of his general maturity level shifted out of his 20's. Age is arbitrary, flexible. It really depends on how you want her written 'now' based off how she was 'then'.

Yeah ok so just gonna fuzz the whole thing then...and focus on making her timeline of events accurate because likely its all an imposibility anyway
