Yes, Whitestar, they are much easier on Heather than the others. They can't see past the prosthetic leg to judge her fairly. She just comes across so not feminine to me and I don't think that it has anything to do with her leg. It's the whole way she moves and carries herself.

Well, I have to admit that I voted for the very first time last night. I called in for John and Edyta (sp?) 3 times last night. I know that he is not very good, he just looks lke he is trying so hard and having such a good time! It's endearing. I want so much for him to come out one night and just blow everybody else out of the water.

Clyde got reamed! If he doesn't go home this time then there is some NBA player conspiracy out there where all former players have 10 phone lines each and they sit and call incessantly. He is not good and he really doesn't even look lke he is trying. His partner dances around him while he stands there and looks tall.

I didn't see Ian but Joey did a great job. He is turning into a very good dancer. Did anyone get the bit at the end with the ring and Lance Bass? I don't know what that was about.

It was good to see Lyla back to her sexy self again. I thought that the interplay between Maksim and her fiance was very funny and added to their performance. I definitely think that she is a contender.

Apollo was great! I enjoyed them so much. But did anyone else find it weird to hear that song sung by someone other than a lemur? I think that I am going to have to revise my top 3 list and replace Ian with Apollo.

Layla - not top notch, but entertaining and sexy.

Joey: Very cute dance!!!! I enjoyed watching that SO Much! It was still a little more goofy than sexy, but at this point, I don't think he can help that.

 

Heather: Hmmm. That was terrible. And sloppy. And clunky. I really didn't like her claw hands in that dance. I know she was trying to be super paso dramatic, but it was just ugly.

 

John: Aw crap! I completely missed his whole dance!!! *smacks forehead* And I was sitting right here! I was distracted by a bonding, apparently. Ah well. It couldn't have been that spectacular.

 

Layla: EEEEEEhehehehehe! I Loved that!!! They're gonna get it for breaking hold and going crazy at the end from Len, but I LOVEDIT! Hahaha, I called it! He didn't like it. I'm not crazy about the dress she wore, it didn't flatter her figure very well, but the dancing was fantastic!

 

Billy Ray: Awww, that was really cute. You could tell he felt a little more comfortable hopping around with that one. And actually a lot of the steps weren't that far from country dancing, so maybe that's why he had a better time with the dance.

 

Apollo: I LOVED the use of the chair! Great choreography! And man did they heat up the dance floor again. My only complaint was Apollo's hands would get the awkward pancake man hands every once in a while. I'm disappointed that Carrie Ann didn't give them a 10 though. I didn't expect it from Len, but I thought they deserved the two 10s.

 

Ian: I really liked that dance. It was good. And I thought Ian did a good job. I thought that the music was the problem. The music wasn't very passionate and it took away from the dance. I do see what the judges were saying with him needing to let go. But I don't think he deserved the lashing he got.

 

And I also really enjoyed the group dance. They all looked like they were having so much fun. But did they say why Heather wasn't there learning with them???

I am in shock! Heather and her leg are gone. I didn't think that they would have the guts but I must say that I am proud of America right at this very moment. That makes Layla the only female celeb in the competition now so she has a lot on her shoulders, but I think that she can do it!

I think she can too. I know she can beat John ad Billy Ray. And she ought to beat Ian. Top 3: Apollo, Joey, Layla. We're getting down to the nitty gritty now, I'm gonna have to start voting.

I was also extremely happy to see Heather leave. Glad John was able to stick around. There's no way he's gonna win this thing, but he is definately having fun out there and that makes him fun to watch.

Ballroom Round

 

Layla: Very Cute. And she did a good job keeping up with the steps. You could tell that Layla was a little stressed over it, though. I felt that her face was a little blank. Being as it was their first week to learn two dances, I'd be a little stressed too.

 

John: Now see this dance is why I still like John. He didn't do a lot, but he compliments Edyta and is obviously having a lot of fun. That was a joy to watch.

 

Apolo: Hmmm, not my favorite performance of his. Wait, am I channelling an American Idol judge??? Anyways, it was good, but I disliked the large grand gestures. They were a little stiff and almost off balance.

 

Ian: Eh. I liked it better than last week's performance, but he's still stiff. Its something that he's just not going to get, I don't think. Hahaha, and yeah, the "mouthwash move" was a little odd, I'm glad they made some fun of that.

 

Billy Ray: Oh dear lord, he's a "heelbilly". Ok. That was very short and there was very little dancing from Billy Ray. However, sometimes you have to know what is your strength and work with it. I know that the judges have to critique the way they did because they are supposed to judge the Waltz, which that most certainly wasn't. I just feel so badly for him because he just can't dance and what they did tonight was SO much better than some of their other performances.

 

Joey: Oh I loved it!!!!! That was SO good! It was cute, sophisticated, and lovely!! And it showcased his goofy humor very well. And Len can shove his Razzle Dazzle comment.

 

Latin Round

 

Ummm, this round is going to cut into Heroes, so I'm going to be in and out. I may miss most of it.

 

Layla: Simply Fantastic!!!!!

 

John: I only saw the last half of this one. It wasn't near as good as the earlier performance. He's not a latin dancer. Hmmm, the judges are praising it, maybe it was better at the beginning??

 

Apolo: 'K I had to skip some of Heroes to watch this one. It was, as usual, very good. High energy. Basically, what we have all come to expect from Apolo.

 

Ian: I missed this one

 

Billy Ray: I only saw the judging, but if he got 7s I Wish I HAD seen it!! I think those are the best scores he's had in a while.

 

Joey: The jive suits Joey. It was great!

Ian - I missed this one. Oops.

 

Joey - I'm with Len. I loved this dance. It was flowey, classey, classic, and light. Now, don't get me wrong. I LOVE the razzle dazzle. But I didn't think this dance deserved the poopooing it got from CarrieAnn and Bruno.

 

Billy Ray - Well he's mastered the Grapevine. That's the step where he walks cross over. And he's also mastered twirling Karina. It wasn't terribly painful to watch. But it wasn't good either.

 

Layla - I can't tell whether I just didn't like the dance or if the way it was filmed wasn't flattering. I just didn't get the flowey feeling from it that I wanted. It was very touching watching her dance for her dad, though. That stuff always gets me every time.

 

Apolo - Ok, I usually dislike the dances that have contemporary music. It usually just takes away from the dance and it bothers me. But this girl that Apolo is with is amazing. She chose fantastic music and her chroeography was amazing as well!!!!! OMG, LEN IS AN IDIOT!!!!!!!! Whaaaat???? That dance was FULL of passion!!!! *rolls eyes* I usually have Len's back at least a little bit, but duuude, this time I'm not even partially on board with his opinion. An 8!!!! JERK! And Carrie Ann! Whaat! She gave a 10, but meant a 9?????? What's that about?? That dance deserved all 10s. I'm just sorry. Ok, update, she DID intend a 10 for this dance. I'm satisfied. Len's still a jerk, though.

 

Latin Round

 

Yet again, they're cutting into Heroes. I'm going to go back and forth if I can. I can't wait to see Apolo's Paso!!!!!

 

Ian - This was good. Not fantastic, but not great either. At this point, Ian's going to get the steps, but he's just not going to get IT. What IT is is up for debate. Is it passion? Is it the natural feel that Len was talking about? I don't know. But IT's just not there.

 

Joey - Eh, I watched a snipped of it and it looked fantastic.

 

Billy Ray - I'm not even going to bother watching this one.

 

Layla - Layla and Maksim are so cute together!!! Their jive was really cute.

 

Apolo - How hot was that???? I love the Paso! It wasn't as perfect as Mario's last year, but it was a Very close second. Although I will say that there were a couple of spots where I couldn't tell if he missed a hand hold or something. [/b]

Apolo: As always, his dance was Very cute! Again, the choreography was amazing and Apolo is truely a Great dancer! I loved it!

 

Ian: Wow. That was actually Good! He was so much less stiff! Great Job Ian! Not a 10 by any means, but it was a giant leap towards letting go and actually improving.

 

Layla: I liked this dance. Layla and Maksim are a solid couple. But they aren't entertainers, so if Joey pulls itout of the bag this week, she'll surely be in the bottom two.

 

Joey: What I love about Joey is that he always has fun. And he usually does pretty well at the same time. For me, Joey's a solid second place behind Apolo.

 

Latin Round:

 

Apolo: Well, he danced it like crazy. But for me it wasn't nearly as good as the first dance. First, it was choppy. Second, is he gay? Because he came off as gay in this dance. I hope he's not because he's hot and I hate losing a hot man to, well another man. The very beginning of the dance when he was workin' the stairs was awesome though! At that moment I thought, "wow, there's nothing hotter than a man who can dance and move his hips."

 

Ian: AAAAHHHHHH! That dance was SO friggin cute! He'll get 10s for this one all around. Man, Ian really pulled these dances out this time. Joey better hope his dance is another round of 10s again.

 

Layla: I just can't find anything wrong to say with Layla and Maksim on this dance. It was so cute! and it had the sex appeal that I've been looking for from them. hehehe, and I loved the fact that they did the butterfly at the end!

 

Joey: Dang! Another great performance! This whole show was chock full of fantastic performances.

Hehe, I haven't watched this in a couple weeks, but I'm on it tonight.

 

Ballroom

 

Apollo - these two were really great. Not only was their timing excellent and coordinated, they even did a great job keeping their limbs out at the same angle, height, etc., which is the biggest complaint I have when watching couples together. Great job. I'm hoping Apollo wins this. (also, I don't think he is gay, the way he was throwing his partner

over his shoulder in rehearsal was rather guy-flirting-with-girl)

 

Ian - I liked the beat of this dance, and they did a pretty good job. He is still stiffer than he should be, but better than in the past. Not worth the 10 he got. I would have given an 8, but I generally would score the dances lower than they are, on average. There are altogether too many 10's given. I don't know that I've seen a 10 this season, imo.

 

Layla - She gets her stuff done, but she's not very energetic or inspiring. Tonight she looked like she was thinking of the steps the entire time, not just letting loose and having a good time. Again, not worth the 10's. She's got a nice shake to her boot, tho. ^_^

 

Joey - Very smooth. The white was a nice look for this dance. See, Layla needs a little of this guy's performer attitude. Haha, the judges just also said it was smooth. I've never agreed so closely with them, lol.

 

Latin

 

Apollo - This was fun! I didn't like it quite as much as their ballroom, but it was cute and energetic, and they both were having a good time AND danced well.

 

Annnnd, that's it for me. Time for Heroes. 8)

Judges choice:

 

Ok, at this point it's pointless to really talk about each dancer individually because they all did really well.

 

Who did I like best? Apolo. Joey was really entertaining, but Apolo was classic. And hot. I was missing something from Layla. And sadly I don't think it was necessarily from her. Maksim is a bit prissy and I think it detracts. But the judges were right that Joey wasn't doing much of a cha cha. I mean, what he did was a lot of fun to watch, but it was more of a freestyle.

 

Freestyle

 

Hehehe, the end of Layla's dance reminded me of last season's So You Think You Can Dance. Ahhhh, Dimitri, how I miss watching thee ripping thy shirt opean and dancing around like the dancing God you are!!!!

Eeee! I love watching the dancers have so much fun! The Breakdancing suited Apolo. and his partner was Fantastic! She really is an amazin Choreographer. Oh my goodness, the jump wrap around trick was awesome! Although I will say that it was just short of perfect for me. Apolo needed to loosen up his upper body and it would have been absolute perfection. Professional, even!

 

Hahaha, Disco is perfect for Joey! It's screwball enough and yet serious. It just fits him! He did a fantastic job as well!

 

So, I guess Dancing with the Stars is pulling a Survivor and having 3 in the finals now instead of 2. Interesting.

I'm really pulling for Apollo. I think that while Joey has a greater sense of theatrics, Apollo is truly a better ballroom dancer, which is what this competition is about. Laila is lovely, but I doubt she will win. She just doesn't have the energy needed to pull off a really inspiring performance.

I am in actual physical pain because I was not home to see last nights episode. I'm hoping that tonight includes lots and lots of flash bakcs so I can see how they did. But I agree with Cadsuane that I am pulling for Apollo now. I didn't in the beginning, but every season I see one celebrity who I look at and say "wow, he/she could do this for real", and this year it is Apollo.

This season is interesting because I don't think there is a single one that completely stands out either in popularity or in talent from the other two. The last two seasons finals were so predictable I was able to forcast who was going to be eliminated in what order weeks in advance of the finals. Made watching kinda dull (though I still hoped I was wrong in many of the cases). Here's hoping for a great finally and an Apollo win! (Would be nice for a change to have the one I think deserves to win the most actually win the bloody thing)

I think that this season's winner was the bast dancer, not the dancer with the biggest fan base. Yeah American voters! And Yeah Apollo!

Season 1 should have been John, Stacy should have at least been 2nd in season 2 (not happy Drew won, but he was at least as good as Stacy), and last season should have been Mario. Finally America got it right!! I'm so happy Apollo won.

Ditto, hooray Apollo!! I saw the three of them make a brief appearance on the Today show this morning. It was a three-way split screen, with Apollo taking the top half, and Joey and Laila splitting the bottom half. Apollo and Joey were miming a fight between their screens. It was cute. :D
