@liz can't that lead to misguided goals? asking to find to figure out your partners when you are actually indeed town, forces us to try to tie players to you who actually would never have any. That gives us misguided views of others in the thread and can potentially hurt the town. There are other questions that would work better imo. But I think finding them yourselves and making a case is better because asking us seems like your trying to find a out? if that makes sense. 

 

Kinda like I wonder who else they don't like so I can get someone lynched besides me. It's a tough spot obviously, and I am trying to not let my opinion of new posts be skewed by my vote. But I think casing someone will work more in your favor if you are town. If you get lynched and are town, it at least gives us a better chance at finding the actual scum.

I called it the pretend game, remember? does that not tell you that I'm saying "open up your minds".

 

I had to use a variation of that tactic on Cory the last game I played here where he was tunneling me and it worked. Temporarily. We wound up lynching actual scum that day instead of wasting time going around in circles.

 

Regardless of what you think of the tactic, the point is: open your mind!

since you should know you're town, you know that however much you pretend that you're scum and try to find your partners, that will do absolutely zilch, zero, and nada for town ever because there's no point because you're town

I'm having a slight memory that maybe you usually play at bulbagarden. If so that might explain a lot, because y'all tend to be more rule-book types from what I've noticed.

Can you accept that people play differently? Not everything is black and white and not every person who is town is going to follow a certain guideline, nor is someone who is scum. Just because you don't feel something should be done in a game as town, doesn't mean that everyone's going to feel that way. Liz and I are doing things that are going to try to get us intel, and we play for the long game not just a quick lynch on D1 and hope it's scum. So by saying who do you think is our scum team we can look at that person and figure out if we agree or disagree. I get what you all are saying about cases I really do. But how can we case anyone when you all are attacking us and not even giving us a chance. We've been on defense all day, and it's kind of hard to switch to offense when every other post we have to defend ourselves because someone doesn't agree with our playstyle.

I'm truly sorry if I'm coming off as overly aggressive or abrasive and tell me if I approach that line. That said. I do acknowledge that there are many different styles of playing, and I do my best to cooperate with them. In this case, I don't perceive it as a playstyle difference, and if it is it's in a very strange and mutated way. I'm going off of facts about the game, not just assumptions made of my own experience. These are, that town knows that it's town. As a result, when another player behaves in a way that shows that the fact that they first and foremost should know that they are town is not applied, I become wary. This is less of a playstyle difference, as I perceive it, than either a fundamental misunderstanding of the game as a whole or just a scum neglecting to consider how a town would behave. Of these, the latter is by far more likely, and I do ask you to truly forgive me if you are town. As such. I'll back off for now, and I recommend you ignore or address briefly any accusations or questions directed to you about yourself and go solve the game and help town win. I know it's rough in your position; I've been there. Thanks for asking me and checking me from making you not feel like you can enjoy the game.

I do. I am just trying to get as much info itt as possible. It's hard to see it ever coming from a townie. butI have seen lynches formed with those words prove false.

I 100% respect this answer, so thank you for this. I will back off as well, because I'm getting very frustrated with the way things are going and I don't want to ruin the game for anyone or get myself really really worked up. I forgot how emotional this game can get. 

 

I will try to back off from those who are accusing me and Liz, but I think we both feel like we've just been completely backed into a corner and no one wants to listen to us.

Ew good luck with the Mandarin. One of my best friends tried to teach me Chinese when we were younger, it didn't go well and whenever I went to her house I thought her mom was super angry because of it being tonal.

just starting, am currently learning (if much farther on in) spanish and german

 

but Chinese would be a really useful language for me to know and I'd like to at least have a basic grasp on it 

 

and i enjoy languages and i got my cousin to be an accountable study partner
