Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I had just started re-reading EoTW over the weekend. Checked in yesterday evening to see the sad news of Mr. Jordan's passing. It's such a tragic loss of a gifted writer who touched so many hearts and minds with the best fantasy series out there. Thank you Mr. Jordan. You will be truly missed.

I have read the wheel of time since 1999, it has been a great experience and a fun ride. Your existence has brought me eight years of joy. Thank you for living; and even in your passing I will remember you always.

My deepest condolences to the Jordan family. I had recently discovered his books last summer, and I could not get enough of it. Although I have never personally met Robert Jordan, his books made me feel as if I had, and when I heard of his passing, it felt like I had lost a good friend. His books were filled with so much faith, hope, and vitality, and he has truly created a modern mythology. In my heart and others, the Dragon will live on. I humbly thank you Robert Jordan. Rest in Peace

OMG!!! I didn't turn my computer on all weekend and when I got to work this morning and checked Dragonmount for an update, I got the news. My heart is breaking for Harriet-I'm 45 and I adore my husband and I can't imagine how lost you must feel. My heart is breaking for Rand and Matt and Perrin and all the people we have come to love through this man and his wonderful mind. At least we have his words.

I received the last unabridged audiobook for WOT today to make my collection complete. Then my son called and said Robert Jordan had died. So I've been crying for a man I never met but who certainly enriched by life. My condolences to Harriet and Wilson and all of his family and friends who had the privilege of actually knowing him. May he rest in peace now that the battle is done.

To the family of Robert Jordan I offer my deepest sympathies and condolences. I was first introduced to Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time while I was in prison where I read a sample book (1/2 of the first book) and was immediately hooked. I thank Robert Jordan for giving me the chance to share his insight. It has been roughly 8 years since I completed that 1/2 book. On Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 I completed the 6th installation to the Wheel of Time (Lord of Chaos). Although I am only halfway through this series these first 6 books have given me knowledge and understanding that have been useful in my own life and have also shown me a virtual aspect of Good vs. Evil from a different perspective. Since my incarceration I have come to know myself in a spiritual sense and am learning about herbs, chakras, crystals, etc. so that I may continue to walk in the Light. Robert Jordan has been a positive influence in my life through his books and although I am truly sorrowful to hear of his passing I am grateful that he has left something so powerful behind to inspire a soul like mine that has taken the unseen journey through the Mountains of MIst more times than one should. My prayers and blessings go out to the Rigney family, May you always find water and shade.

It's with great sadness today that I read the news. I first began reading the "Wheel of Time" series in 1991. It has been a truly wonderous journey and I Thank You Robert Jordan for allowing me the pleasure of accomplying you, as well as everyone else on this journey. As your journey on this world has come to an end, I hope and pray that the mother's arms are there to guide you to the next.

My sincerest condolences to Harriet and Wilson and other family members in this time of mourning. May GOD grant you the peace and comfort in knowing that he has gone on to a better place and has left this world a much better place.

I look forward to when my time comes to be seated there in heaven with the world's greatest storyteller. I can only imagine the stories he'll have to share with us.
