Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

Guest Wilson

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

My deepest condolences to the Rigney family. Knowing what a great impact Jim made on my life through his work for the last 15 years, I can only imagine how much joy he brought to yours. Thank you for sharing him with us, even through his illness when I am sure you wanted his complete attention the most. Ours is a terrible loss, but yours I am not sure that words can describe.

My thoughts and prayers, as always, are with you.

Though I don't have the false illusion that I knew the man, I respected him for what he created. He is both lucky and great for having left so many positive things behind.

RIP. My condolances. I've had "Nynaeve" as my email address for 12 years now. I couldn't extricate that character from my being if I tried. So thank you for bringing her to life - as well as the amazing contribution of "The Wheel Of Time". No matter how one feels about the story or where it has gone, there is no denying the gift you left the world. Please find the peace you deserve.

RJ was the man who first brought fantasy to me and for that I am truly thankful. He was the true "Gleeman" of his profession. Rest in peace, my friend, and remember that your legions of fans will never forget you.

To Harriet, Wilson, and the loyal followers of the Wheel of Time Lifestyle:

In a time when men build walls, internationally and interpersonally, RJ has and will continue to bring people together through his novels . By reading them, RJ becomes an intimate part of our consciousness, shaping what we think and how we feel. Whether it's Nynaeve's altruism, Mat's bravery, or Perrin's loyalty, we internalize these values and pass them along to others.

Harriet, thank you for everything that you did for our hero. I hope that you're surrounded by loved ones during this difficult time. Please know that you are in the thoughts of millions and that we care about you very much.

RJ, thank you for sending your books out into the world. Thank you for your strength and bravery. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

Rest well up there while you can, RJ, because you will undoubtedly have millions of fans clamoring to meet you as the years pass by.

Wilson,

I know this is the least of thoughts that may enter your mind in this trying time, but I have a question for you, dear sir. In my way of saying goodbye, I was having a smoke with our beloved RJ, and I was just curious if you could tell me what his tobac of choice had been. I would love to have a 'Smoke of Honor' with him one last time. May our Lord bless you and keep you.

Sincerely,

Daniel Sparks

My condolences... Thank you Mr Jordan for opening up the world of reading to me. Through your hand I have dreamed and traveled I have stayed up nights and lost myself in worlds you built. I woke up after dreaming about knife of dreams last chapter, and went to RJ site in order to find out anything about the book 12 of WoT and got a shock of my life. I am so sorry for the incredible

loss we have all suffered, we who lived all these years waiting for the next book in series.

There,ll never be another Dragon.

His abilities with words were unprecedented and his imagination knew no bounds. Though the legendary writer may have moved on, his written words shall last throughout eternity. May God bless you all and thank you for the inspiration you have given me.

To Harriet McDougal and Rigney family from Ex-Yugoslavian fans.

First we would like to express our deepest condolences.

I’m speaking in the name of all the Wheel of Time fans from our little forum in Serbia and this grave news has shocked and saddened us all. Some of us (including myself) still can’t believe that Robert Jordan is gone and it will take a lot of time for this to sink in, because we know he was a fighter until the end. From the moment he announced that he was ill, none of us believed that he would actually die, because that´s just not something that happens to your favorite writer.

We are both honored and privileged to have had the chance to read his work, especially since some of us started reading Fantasy because he opened the door to that wonderful world for us with his masterwork books. The world is at a loss for one great writer and even greater person. Some of us were helped to get through difficult times and meet new people, by his blog and his work.. The only comforting thing is that, though he passed on, he will live forever in the memory of those who´s life he has changed, and through immortality of literature.

The world will never be the same again.

He and your whole family are in our prayers.

Thank you for everything.

Harriet, Wilson and Family,

My deepest sympathies to all of you and everyone that was close to Mr. Jordan. I began reading his works when I was only a very young boy (about a Freshman in High School I think) but can honestly little has touched me as deeply. I think I am on my 5th or 6th copy of most of the books. I know that my sorrow at his passing is but a drop in the ocean compaired with yours but as I am sure you are aware, Robert touch was deep, warm and worldwide. Because of him I have made friends that I never would have otherwise and have "wasted" too many wonderful hours reading and debating the finer points with my friends and my beloved wife (whom I had the pleasure of turning on to his work.)

I know and believe that Mr. Jordan will know in full how everyone feels and the thoughts they are putting into words to express their grief. To him I can only say Thank You for sharing your vision and letting all of us get to know you through it.

In Loving Memory and With Deepest Regard,

Kevin & April S.
