  1. so after the multatude of threads about suggested readings, i've finally broken down and got a copy of "Game of Thorns" from the Library this week.

i'm only on like chapter 3 or 4, and i like it so far. infact there are characters i can tell i like, and characters i already hate;  like the Beggar King (even though i only just met him)  i like Jon as well :) he seem like a likable sensable guy ... much like Perrin (hopefully there is no faile for him to pine after in the books though *grins*)

yes i know i'm reading this just to be disappointed at no book 5, but your talking to an HP fan that bitches about the movies and still goes to see them lmao, i'm a glutton for punishment i guess :)

  2. "In My Head" by Jason Derulo

cause this song has been in my head  :D

not usually much on the newer music comming out, especially pop type stuff.  but this guy is pretty good.  got his CD and i like all the songs evenif the lyric content tends to lack

    *~* CHANGE *~*

"Into the Night" by Santana ft. Chad Kroeger / "Game of Love" Santana ft. Michelle Branch

  3. one thing you have to understand about me krak, i cry easily at movies.  heck i cried when Nemo's mom died.

when i looked up the Rawanda Genocide, i saw the movie title come up.  i'll certaintly look into it.

oh BTW, beyond the gate was actually filmed at the location that massacre happened at.  i applaude and admire the surivivors for being brave enough to go back there

  4. just watched Beyond the Gate which is a movie based on the 1994 Genocide in Rawanda.  it's a very sad movie, and makes me even more mad at the UN than i was before i watched it.  i've since looked up facts about the genocide and the movie by all accounts is rather factual.

what was very interesting and neat was that they had survivors of this event on the actual film crew.

  5. Valentines Day was an awesome movie!!!  worth the rent.  its a chick flick that even guys will enjoy, atleast bubba didnt seem to mind it too much.  all the actors are great and it really reminded me of 'Love Actually'.

Ninja Assassin  meh.  not my cup of tea.  bubba enjoyed it, but i've never been a fan of the kung fu genre.  specail effects were decent in it, also the english in it was understandable with out the old 2 min delay.  lots of blood though and as typical of kung fu movies, the plot was really lacking.

  6. ^ god don't remind me how aweful that movie was in comparison the to book *shakes head*

okay, so i just watched A Nightmare on Elm Street and it was okay.  the CGI was awesome! and i absolutley LOVED the shout outs to the original!!  as well as the back story on Fred.

however, i'm not inclined to want to rush out and see the sequel in theaters, and i didn't find it all the scary, no more than the original anyway.

had i been younger and watched it, i would've been scared, but not at 25yrs.  infact on Friday i watched the original "Nightmare on elm Street" for the first time that way i knew what all the hype was about.

it's a good movie, don't get me wrong, and did justice to the name sake.  besides, i'm glad hollywood is finally over the laughable japinese "horror" film fetish its had; even if they are re-making the classics.

  7. went and saw "Clash of the Titans" last night. (not the 3d version)

it was a good movie, though i believe they got soem of the mythology wrong.  and Zues's hair is suppose to be white

the only other thing i didn't like about it was that you can tell the entire film was made for 3D, which made the action scenes way too close up to be enjoyable.

honestly, they need to film it in two seperat ways.  release 1 film for 3D only and film the other one for regular only.  that way it doesn't seem too muddled and too close to the screen to be enjoyable in the regular verson.

other than that, it was a rather good film.

  8. okay so i've seen a few new movies.

"She's out of my League" was an excellent movie :)  very funny and worth goign to see in the theaters.  much better than i expected

"The Bounty Hunter" meh.  i like gerald butler, he's very nice to look at.  but he was about the only good thing in this movie.  it had it's points but better to wait and rent it imo.

last but not least.  i watched an older movie named "Wolf" with Michelle Pifer(sp) and Jack Nicholson.

didn't really enjoy the movie but what i found interesting and peaked my interest was there is a WoT mention in it!!!

its been playign on Showtime alot so check it out about an hour in.  when he's hardballing his boss an signing the new contract, in the bookshelf behind them on the far wall are numerous copies of FoH, a few copies of tDR and atleast one copy of each tEotW and tGH.

yeah i totally get syked by those type of things *grins*

  9. just watched New Moon.  meh.  the series is alright, i've read it and i can appreciate that this movie really stuck to the book from what i remember.

    still ... meh.

btw i couldnt help myself but get aggrevated with Bella for how she leads jacob on in the book, and i was equally as aggrivated watching on the screen.    not to mention the actors that play Edward adn bella ...  seperate their okay, but when their acting together (especailly the kissing angst scene)  not digging it.
