  1. Okay I'm almost ready to post my "getting to know Telcia" post here, I promise, LOL!  Taea, I'm sure there has to be a way to get you to us.  Do any of the Kin or AS have knowledge of your character?  Any chance my eyes and ears in some part of the world might tip me off to your pc?  Any ideas on how we might rope you in?  I definitely want to see the Kin get active cause we really do have some amazing things on the horizon for Altara.

  2. Pretty certain it just says that it can be canceled, not anything about how one goes about that.  Figured it wasn't safe to just assume I could play it like the bond never happened without a thumbs up from folks here so... I asked.

  3. So,

Been thinking about the fact that we Kin have a lot to do coming up very soon with the resolution of the Bowl of Winds RP (can you believe it's actually gonna get off the ground finally!  ... so exciting!) and afterwards.

Which of the players who already have Kin characters are actually *IN* Ebou Dar for the event?  I'd love for us to all chit chat a bit about our characters and what we know about each other since we would probably have a little knowledge of one another.  ;)

This should make our interaction in the rp a little easier.  I'll hit this thread later this afternoon with a bit more about my character but anyone can feel free to go first if they desire.

    *hugs*

  4. I know that if a member is inactive for three months a bond with them can be canceled, however, is there a process or filing or something that needs to be done for that to occur?  I'd love for my bondmate to come back but I'm not even sure how the heck to contact him as it's been a long while since we've chatted.

    Thanks for your help!

  5. Miya was careful to dip a near perfect curtsey, something Sial had been helping her brush up on in private.  It was far from absolutely without flaw but at least she didn't end up on her bottom 50% of the time anymore.

"Maegan Sedai, thank you for inviting me to join you."  She said as she dipped down and rose back up smoothly.  Looking around she admired the warmth of the room, the lived in feeling, far from the cell-like atmosphere of her and Sial's room.  That place was down right coffin-esque compared to the lovely colors and textures of Maegan Sedai's room.

Having been invited to take tea, she did so, and offered to pour a cut for Maegan.  After the cups had been poured and she was done taking a sip of her own tea she decided to inquire, "How may I be of service to you to day?"   Already she was thinking about getting back to Coal if time allowed this afternoon and the faster she was done helping out the old Red, the sooner she could be about having fun!

  6. Miya nodded to the comment about cleaning.  It was true enough that they'd have time to figure that out as they lived together longer and longer.

Sial was seeming like the type of woman she could definately feel good about staying with.  Though the idea of fighting with her, such a small woman, hardly seemed fair.  That and the fact that southlanders were most often soft and not really capable of putting up a good fight even to save their own skins.  Still, she'd asked for the 'kindness' and despite not seeing any reason TO fight with the girl, Miya could hardly object.

"Seems pretty logical to me.  Though I do feel the need to warn you, I have a mean right hook.  I've been in a fair number of scraps in my time."   That was the truth, though most of them not by her choice.  People could be quite silly sometimes, especially when they missed the point of a well thought out joke.

"Alright, important question, rule breaking... I don't do it often but, on occasion I have been known to seek fun outside the constrants of what's expected... like last night.  If I do go getting into something that you figure is trouble and want no part of, just let me know you want no part of it... and if you could, I'd really appreciate you denying any knowledge of my activities if someone should ask you.  I'd be glad to do the same for you."

A wicked smile grew on her face slowly.  "Though I doubt I'll ever turn you down if you're looking for an extra set of hands in some fun thing or another.  Especially if things get as dull around here as you make it sound."

  7. Miya tapped her index finger on her lip thoughtfully.  "In front of me, and behind me... but I move through you..."  She muttered to herself softly.

"Must be something that is always in front of me and behind me for the riddle to be true... so, what is in front of me and behind me.  Life perhaps?  No... we do move through life but I doubt as the focus of a riddle it's something to be said of life often."  She seems to stew on the riddle as Lillian turns down a corridor of white.  For a moment she is distracted by the art and beauty of the place but then shakes it off.

"I move through... I move through..."  A smile snaps on her face like lightening flashing.  "I move through time.  The answer is time!  Light but that one made me think for a few minutes!"

She giggles and rubs her hands.  "Here's a tough one that took me all day to figure out when my mother told it to me: It stands on one leg with its heart in its head, what is it?"

  8. Miya could hardly stand it.  She wanted to hug the girl straight off when she said that she'd share her horse Coal.  Of course she hadn't said it belonged to her, perhaps she just loved the horse, but a horse was big enough for many young girls to love so it hardly mattered.  A chance to have something that resembled home, a horse to care for, would be welcome even if it meant having more of what she would have called chores back home.  Right now, however, a horse seemed more like a treasure than a torture.

"I'm regretful I don't have anything to give you in return as a room-warming gift."  Miya looked a touch embarassed.  "I'm sure Coal will be wonderful to spend some time with when I'm able, so long as the chores around here don't kill us first."  She managed a short wry chuckle.  Truly she didn't want to think about keeping up this pace with the chores for years to come.

"Sial, I promise you, just as soon as I'm able... I'll find you a gift equal to the joy you're sharing with me in Coal.  Fair is only fair."  She nodded firmly and in her mind that was the end of the matter.  She would find a gift for Sial if it was the last thing she did and she'd begin looking for a gift tomorrow, first thing.  Though where she'd get a gift in this place, she was unsure.  Even if she had coin, it wasn't like the Tower had a gift shop.  And the Light only knew when they'd lift that, "no going into the city" ban.  Of course... there was always Rory, maybe she'd help.

As she thought about the gift she'd give her new friend, Sial went on about the idea that room rules should be established and she nodded in agreement.  "A great idea.  Let's see... I think it should go without saying that if we do manage to get anything personal, we leave each other's things be unless invited to share.  Additionally, this is our space and other than Aes Sedai who we can't keep out... maybe we shouldn't ask over guests without the other's knowledge?"

She bit her lip nervously.  "Or is that too much do you think?  I don't want to keep your friends out of the room but it is like a house, the best like one we're gonna get at least, and we always had to tell my mother when guests were coming so she wouldn't be embaressed by whatever she left laying out or whatever might not be as tidy as she liked.  She was always very picky about such things."

With those rules stated she waited to hear if Sial liked them and if she had other ideas that might work.

  9. Just trying to keep in mind that Espara has like hundred+ years of Aes Sedai rhetroic pumped into ("we can do no wrong, we can do no wrong, we can do no...") even if I am smarter and more reasonable than that it would be rather unresponsible of me as a player not to play that important attitude up that most sisters have.

Years of brainwashing... er... life at the Tower, definately takes even the most down home and earthy of gals and can make them into a wholely different beast.

But yes, rp should happen with us eventually.

    *hugs*

  10. (as you can tell I'm reading posts and 'catching up')

If my thoughts still matter on this one:

    - How does your character react to WT having to acknowledge the BT?

"Sure, no problem, acknowledging them is fine... assuming the give us back our flaming sisters and agree not to force to submit/bow, incinerate, bury, or otherwise kill anyone else protected by the Tower anymore.  With that little detail clearly understood... I can stand for that, sure."

    - How does your character view the relations of the WT & BT? What should they be like in the future?

"How should we deal with them... well, I say we deal with them like any other powerful political force that has the ability to shape our stone tower like a little ducky and then make it a river of molten ash it if we piss them off.  We bloody-well deal with them carefully and always remember Dumai's Wells.  We don't bow, but we flaming remember that its now on our heads to be the makers of peace."

    - How does the end result of the negotiations affect the Sitter's opinion of Annais who made the deal (remembering that the Hall made the final decision)?

Annais is like anyone stuck in the position of mediation... as a woman who understands politics (in her own earthy way), she won't "blame" her for the raw deal we're stuck in.  After all...

"They want us to... what?  Say we're sorry?  I can count on my little fingers not one occasion, such as we committed, but TWO occasions where they've killed and enslaved our Sisters!  I think if anyone needs to be giving ground here, it's that arrogant and clearly deadly young man and his rabid dogs in black!"

However... we (the tower) did make our own bed and Annais is just stuck cleaning up the mess.  She can hardly be blamed for having to give so very much ground when the previous Amyrlin dug our hole so very deep.

  11. Assuming there is any point to saying where my sitter character would have stood:

Keeping in mind that all of us aren't stupid (obscure law or not) Espara will be suspicious (as others here seem to be) of asking the Hall to essentially re-declare what is "bloody obvious to the whole flaming world", hell, during the debate of the matter she'd comment that,

"This sounds about as reasonable as selling dirt to a farmer, sure he needs it to grow stuff but no one would call him a farmer if he wasn't already growing things.  Frankly, I'm bet my shawl and shoes that there is some obscure gray thing that will come up after the fact here... but I'll be bloody coated in sugar and burned before anyone will find me sitting on my butt when asked if we should be at war with the shadow.  Of course it's redundant, but a woman's got to wonder ... not just about the person asking us to stand for a redundant statement, but also about those not willing to stand up for what they claim to already represent."

... but in the end she'll be standing for the Amyrlin's Declaration of War.  :D  She's a gal who stands up for what she believes in but hates being seen as stupid (meaning she can be about as suspicious as a Cairhienen with a guilty conscience at a noble's party, at times LOL)

Truthfully, and not to rock the boat here, the situation with Egwene was the reason she pulled off what she did ... had she been in the tower I somehow doubt that the hall would have been as quick to stand with her.  The DRPSW world has the sitters sitting comfortably in their Tower, relatively unpanic'd by the events of the world (unlike Egwene's camp who was the minority and out in the world by themselves, with everything to prove and almost nothing to lose.)

Of course, if Espara being her normally bold and nearly rude self isn't cool for the purposes of rp/tower history... I can tone her down.  :)

    /end rambling

  12. Miya began hanging up her dresses as soon as Sial finished.  "Well, I suppose that is a capital idea.  I'm Miya, as you know, Miya Kiyoshi.  I'm from a little farm town in Arafel... which if you don't know where that is, it's up the river and off to the west just before you reach the blight."

Putting her stuff away didn't take but a moment, after all, she didn't have much in the way of stuff anymore.  "I couldn't help but notice that you had some horse hairs here in the room... I assume that means you either spend a lot of time caring for the horses or you have one?"  Sitting on the edge of her bed she continued.

"I adore horses.  I couldn't bring mine with me though.  Most of my trip was by boat and it would have cost too much to bring my horse here that way." Miya sighed.

"Would have been nice though, I think I would have enjoyed riding on free days."  Shrugging sadly she looks up at her roomate, "So where are you from and... for the light's sake tell me there is something fun to do in this Tower when we do get free time!"

  13. Miya literally bounced with glee as they walked down the hallway.  Not only did she adore riddles but she actually knew the answer to this one, it was one she use to tell her little brother to stump him.  "Fire!"  She giggled madly.  "Oh I adore riddles!" She then realized she was acting like a mad woman and calmed herself abruptly.

"My mother, she is very smart, well... she use to think up riddles for my brother and I each morning before chores and we could have all day to puzzle out an answer.  If we were correct, we would get a treat before bed.  Sometimes I would spend hours puzzling out her really tough ones."  Light but Miya missed her mother right now.  Not having a riddle each day to help the chores pass more quickly did tend to only make the days seem longer and the chores seem all the more terrible.

"Here's one for you Lillian Sedai... What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, and has a bed but never sleeps?"

  14. Bleh, I hate choices like this cause I always feel like I'm making a judgement call on people before I've met them.  Both new gals had great posts and Ghaul I already know so... well, Ghaul is gonna kick me for not asking for him (LUB YA GHAUL) but...  I'm looking to meet new people!

So, having to choose between the two... so long as Sial isn't going to object (we're just getting to know each other so I don't know if she's the sort of person who would only want one roomate...), I certainly wouldn't mind Merilaine Candwin joining us.

Her thread caught my attention and I think I'd like to get to know her novice a bit better. Not that I don't want to know the other two... I say the more the merrier; but sadly they only give us three to a room so I had to pick one.

To the other two, look me up for mischief or chores.  I'd love to rp with you!

    *hugs*

  15. Bobing a quick curtsey, wearing a smile bigger than any cat with a mouse, Miya raced off to enjoy her time without classes or chores by finding a snack or three in the kitchen... assuming Mistress Laras didn't yell at her from snacking between meals again.

All told, despite being homesick still, today hadn't turned out to be the worst day in the Tower... in fact, things were starting to look up.
