  1. For me, nostalgia is not only about old TV shows but also about everything connected to them. When it comes to series, I still like going back to Quantum Leap. It is very much a product of its time, simple in structure, but the focus on small, human stories still works for me. I also occasionally rewatch Due South, which is a strange mix of police procedural, humor, and a very particular 90s atmosphere. I understand why it does not work for everyone, but it still does for me. There are also shows that I mostly keep as fond memories rather than things I actively rewatch, like Sliders. The core idea is great, but watching it now really shows how uneven the quality becomes from season to season, so it feels more nostalgic than genuinely enjoyable. Nostalgia for me also includes games, and not just ones I can easily replay. Every now and then I think about an old game I seem to have completely lost track of, and at this point I have mostly given up hope of ever finding it again. It was Wheel of Time themed but not actually about the story itself, more of a gambling style game. From what I remember, you could enter it and choose what you wanted to play, something like picking poker, then going back to a main menu and switching to blackjack or other card games. I have tried looking for it on sites that specialize in that kind of thing, including places like somagyarkaszinok.com, but I have never managed to track it down. My best guess is that it was some kind of limited or seasonal release tied to the launch of a new season of the TV show, which would explain why it seems to have vanished completely. It is a different kind of nostalgia, not something I can revisit, just something I remember existing and wish I could stumble across again.

  3. I want to be excited about this, I really do, but every time I see AAA open world RPG attached to a beloved franchise it usually means a game that looks great in trailers but loses its heart somewhere along the way. Big studios tend to focus on scale and visuals instead of the quiet details that make a world feel alive. I mostly play single player RPGs like The Witcher 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Baldur’s Gate 3. What I love about those games is the sense of immersion, the way every place feels like it has history and every decision feels personal. That is what I would want from a Wheel of Time game. Let me walk through a real Two Rivers village, hear the wind in the Blight, or watch the White Tower from the streets below. Reading the latest news makes it hard to stay hopeful though. It sounds more like another big promise without a clear plan. I hope I am wrong, but it feels like the kind of dream that fades long before we ever get to play it.
  4. I haven’t roleplayed in a long time either, but I’d love to get back into it if a group comes together.
  5. Hieveryone! I’m a fan of The Wheel of Time, both the books and the show. Glad to join Dragonmount and meet others who share the same journey through the Wheel.
