  1. Yeah ... he's one of mine. From a very long time ago. Back from the day where the BT was an indiscriminate burner of all persons. So much red tape nowadays to set fire to people ...

Anywho, yeah. That sounds like an interesting idea. Maybe not a terribly GOOD idea to set 4 different ajahs together, but an interesting one :D

  2. Sooo ... I've got this newly raised Red Sister, and nothing to do with her. I don't want her to become old and grey without ever having done anything interesting, so I need something to do. Really, just about anything will do. Rochel is a VERY young Aes Sedai. Raised only a couple of years ago at most in the main story line. Maybe not even showing the ageless face yet.

So is anyone interested in doing something?

  3. Tai!!!!

*Torn between a huggle pounce and a hard thwap*

Take attack leader rank and then vanish on me like that ... you're lucky we have witnesses BT members around now.

No go post. I will not forgive you with any less than 10 posts by the end of the month. ;)

Hmmm ... if we just get Covai back now, we'll have just about everyone from a year ago.

    Anywho, welcome back.

No burning the new recruits. You wait until they at least have a coat and a bunk.

You can burn Skechid in the mean time if you REALLY need to do something though. He won't mind.

  5. DM Handle: Grimm

    Contact Info: Mactorins[at]yahoo[dot]com

Character Count: Including this one? One.

    Character Name: Baran Dholwin

    Nationality: Cairhienin

    Age: 18

    Physical Characteristic:

    Height: 5'6

    Weight: 150 pounds.

Hair: Black, cut close to his head.

Eyes: Dark, almost as black as his hair.

Skin: The kind of pale that can only be achieved by spending most of one's time underground.

Physical Description: He is fairly well-muscled, having spent a significant portion of his life working in the mines of his home village, though not as bulky as men who have done the same work for longer. His hands are misshapen and clumsy, after being broken and improperly set.

Personal History: Baran was born into a fairly poor mining village near the hills that make up Cairhien's southern border. His mother died in childbirth, leaving the infant to be raised by his father, a hard man whose long hours in the mines barely put enough food on the table for the two of them. Baran's childhood wasn't that much different than many of the children growing up in the area. His father, unlike many men in his situation, did right by his boy. Baran learned what it meant to be Cairhienin from the man. He was one of the first children in the village to develop a quiet reserve, which reflected well upon his father. He was also one of the first children in the village to be put to work in the mines, not because of any urging from his father, but because he was able to grasp the difficulties that his father was going through just to feed them.

Time passed, and Baran began to grow into a man. As happens with many young men, he developed rivalries with other boys he had grown up with, and while that sometimes lead to a scuffle or two, he maintained most of the friendships that he had formed as a child. Soon they were all shoulder to shoulder in the mines anyway, so being comfortable with each other was probably for the best.

It was only a matter of time before the promising young man began to injure himself in the mines, it was an occupational hazard, after all. A minor cave-in left some young men without the use of their legs, so Baran counted himself lucky that he had hurt his hands. The village Wise Woman did her best, but her eyesight was going, and her own hands weren't as nimble as they used to be. Still, when they eventually healed, Baran's hands could still grip a pick and shovel, so he figured he didn't have anything to complain about.

Baran was spending some of his hard-earned coppers at the local tavern when the first Asha'man came to town. Like many of the other people in his village, he was part of the crowd that gathered to see the Asha'man test the handful of volunteers that wanted to see if they could learn to Channel. Like those tested, he felt a soft compulsion to go and be tested, to see if he could learn. He resisted however, and remained hidden in the crowd until after the testing was over. He watched the group leave, satisfied that he had actually seen someone channel in his lifetime, and that the channeler had been a man! The village was scandalized by the development, of course, but life went on, and Baran went back into the mines with a few less friends at his sides.

His father died a few months later. It wasn't uncommon for miners to develop breathing problems as they aged, and Baran's father was no exception. With little money to pay for a funeral, the son of the deceased, now a young man, took the body out into the desolate plains surrounding the village and burned it.

He went back to work in the mines after that, now struggling with the almost certain knowledge that continuing to work in the mines would be the death of him. Still, he had known no other life, had no other skills besides the ability to swing the axe and push the load, so he carried on.

When the Asha'man came again to the small village, Baran allowed himself to be tested. To him, it seemed like the only way to escape the same fate as his father. He didn't want to die unknown, unmourned by anyone except for his family. True, he would likely go mad and die if he learned to Channel, but at least he would have a chance for his death to mean something, instead of struggling for his entire life to earn a pittance only to die with nothing.

To his surprise, he passed the test. He nodded his assent when he was asked if he wanted to be taken to Tear for training. Because he was Cairhienin, he smiled when he wanted to jump for joy and thanked the Asha'man for the opportunity when he wanted to hug the man. He was, after all, his father's son.

  6. New DM, new beginnings, new everything. How about some renewed interest in this stuff happening between the Awesome Tower and the White Tower?

    Yep, sounds good to me.

Anywho, if you can see this, let me know. If not ... speak up and we'll add you again. :D

  7. Hello happy people,

It's been a quiet few months thus far, and nobody's happy about this. So I thought to myself... well! What can we do about this other than locking a random person in the basement and forcing him to create at least 20 Ashaman characters and WRITE A POST FOR EACH OF THEM IN EXCHANGE FOR FOOD OR WATER!

    *ahem*

Well, let's have small steps shall we. YOUR TASK THIS MONTH: Bring a friend or two to this board! And tell them about the BT. Preferably in a way that they'll be interested to join for. *nods* IN EXCHANGE! Well... I haven't quite thought this through, but I'm gonna discuss with Arath and see if we can exchange it for the points thing, which helps you increase your strength score (know what I'm talking about?). Yeah. So every month we're gonna have one of these task things. And it'll be different. Though I suspect, for now, most of it will involve you trying to get people to join us.

THINK ON IT! AND GET IT DONE.

    Here’s the specifics:

    August Task:

    1) Tell someone about the RP BT Div place. Aka Here.

    2) Sell the idea of joining to them.

    3) Get them to post here and join up with a bio.

    4) AND YOU GET YOUR REWARD.

    5) Feel free to offer them Bio writing help and suchlike.

    6) If I feel you’ve done more that you were tasked, the reward will be according.

Thank you. Your participation will be appreciated and suitably rewarded. *nods*

    Regards

    Skechid Aran Teobon

    Storm Leader

    Asst Division Leader

Bumpity. DM 8 kind of messed up the order of posts, so all the more recent stuff is on the last page. Odd, but whatever.

  8. Daevis refrained from rolling his eyes at Lorelai's continued threats.  If things went as badly as she seemed to fear, he had absolutely no intention of sleeping within a hundred miles of her.  At least she was agreeable now.  Most women didn't have the sense the Creator gave a goat, but it seemed this one had at least a little.

"Alright then," he said with an irritatingly happy sound in his voice.  "Shall we?"

Reasonably sure that the wolfkin wouldn't stab him, at least for the next few minutes, the Asha'man stepped out of the treeline and quickly crossed the distance to the nearest building.  Soon enough, the very predictable guards began their circuit again.  Saidin at the ready, he waited for the pair to come around the corner.

It was over quickly.  Before the unfortunate men even had a chance to open their mouths in surprise, a solid weave of spirit had sunk into their heads, sending them instantly into a deep, dreamless sleep.  Weaves of air snaked out to break their fall, and drag them into the shadows.  Daevis turned and flashed a grin at Lorelai, who seemed to be doing her very best to not appear impressed.  This was going to be easy.

  9. Daevis snorted in amusement.  "Nosey?  I believe I was here first.  Last I knew, you were travelling in the other direction."

Pushing away from his tree, the Asha'man took another good look at the village.  It didn't look as though things had changed much in the time he's been waiting, but that could change at any moment.  And now that Lorelai was here, he didn't have any excuse to put things off any longer.

"So, what kind of rescue plan did YOU have in mind?  I was going to go in, put the guards to sleep, heal whatever poor fool needs healing, then Travel right on out of there.  Did you have a better idea?"

  10. Daevis stifled a yawn when Lorelai took a few menacing steps toward him, sword still out in front of her.  Really ... did she think it was intimidating?  Pointedly ignoring the blade, waved a hand toward the barrier, which he let unravel.  "Perhaps you are right.  I do tend to think highly of my own safety.  Mostly because I tend to think of myself as more useful alive then dead.  You may do well to consider that yourself.  Just how are you going to free them?  Just going to sneak into the building, quietly dispose of the guards, escape just as quietly while carrying your injured friends?  If they're in the same state you were, they won't be walking very far on their own."

Daevis let the barrier unravel, and with a lazy wave of his hand he motioned toward the village.  "The wall is gone.  You're free to do whatever you want."  He gave a small grin at the suspicious look in her eyes.  "So what is my part in this?  Do I help you out now, or do I get to rescue you again when this goes badly?"

  11. Well, in order to achieve optimal levels of outrage from Rochel, I'll say she was raised a good 3-4 months before the ter'angreal surfaced.  Long enough to begin to get into the mindset of the Ajah, and be throughly upset when that all gets turned on it's head. :D

Rochel:  "Okay!  I'm ready to do my ajah duties and gentle those poor men!"

Zarinen:  "Yeah ... about that ..."

Sounds like a fun little RP to me.  What do you suppose the punishment would be for punching the Highest?

  12. We can have chaos. Civilians dying as we get to use our spectacular weaves to burn thousands of Shadowspawn,

Now you see ... this is why I run classes.  To improve our aim in situations like this.

Sounds a little complicated.  Especially since nobody at the Farm has foretelling.  Or can even spell metaphysics.  And I don't think any of the good guys have ever even heard of a stasis box.  :P

But way to think outside the box.  Or ... inside the stasis box ... or whatever.

  13. Right ...

Skechid is one of those Storm Leaders we don't like to talk about much.  Makes the rest of us look crazy by association.

Which, considering where we find ourselves, is saying quite a lot.

  14. I think that's mostly going to fall under individual RP's between bonded pairs.  I know thats one of first orders of business on Arath's to-do list now that he's bonded to Jaydena.  Linking and channeling together.

Though a large scale class where an Aes Sedai is teaching the Asha'man how to link ... that could be interesting.  Especially since it will be a mandatory skill for the Cleansing, whenever that finally happens.

  15. Well, ever since we did away with Brent, the BT is now lead by the Guardian Council.  7 Storm Leaders and 14 Attack Leaders run everything, kind of like the Aes Sedai's Hall of the Tower.  Only less nagging old women and backstabbing.  At the moment, most of the rest of the Council kind of defer to Arath and Covai, sort of as the first among equals.

Lets see ... each Storm Leader has his own thing he's in charge of, and has 2 Attack Leaders as assistants.  I'm still in the process of sorting out exactly who does what, but it's not overly important.  I'm also working on basic bios for all of the NPC leaders ... a rather tedious process, but it should help out a lot in the long run.

If there's anything specific you want/need to know, feel free to ask.

  16. Well ... what has Linten done with the talent?

Right now I'm thinking somewhere around a 3, because as far as I can remember, Linten never recieved any formal training in the Dream.  Everything he knows is self taught ... and probably pretty shakey.

So yeah ... give me a list of what he's done with the talent and I'll see about figuring out your Dreamwalker Score.
