Elaida's shaking looked to me like the same kind of tremors that can affect people who are suffering from a debilitating degenerative illness or who are just getting up there in age, and given how old she has to be in order to actually physically appear as old as she does, my best bet is that she's suffering from some kind of age-related malady that affects her dexterity.

There's no such thing as "objectively bad" because the terms "good" and "bad" are not objective. There's also zero equivalency between the people who talk about the show positively and the people who don't like it but are watching solely for the purpose of complaining about it and about the people whose opinions are not the same as theirs. This whole tangential screed has derailed this thread long enough, though, so this is my final comment on the matter. Now, moving on to other things, I like that Rafe and Co. are committing to turning the "rainbows, carnivals, and 3 beautiful women" story for Rand into a mutual Polycule instead of a stereotypical Harem situation, and that they chose to convey that commitment by using a one-night-stand between Elly (Elayne) and Avi as the catalyst for relationship development between them individually before we get to relationship development between them and Rand. I also wouldn't be surprised if we see similar relationship development happen between Elayne and Min before we get relationship development between Rand and Min. -

Being a fan of both the novels and the television adaptation does not make someone an "apologist". I'm not one of said people myself (because I do not like the books), but I follow a good number of said people online. -

Loving an IP does not require someone to force themselves to consume or engage with every single thing that is related to that IP, especially when it is clear that they do not actually enjoy the specific thing they are consuming/engaging with. -
Wheel of Time Season 3 - Full Season Discussion

It's entirely possible to be critical of - and criticize - the TV adaptation here - or elsewhere - without being ignored or dismissed. The problem is that a significant number of those with negative opinions don't actually want to discuss their points of view; they simply want to complain and baselessly attack and disparage the adaptation itself, the creators of it, and anyone who doesn't share in their negativity. -

Hyperbole much? To paraphrase Robert Jordan, you need to go have an affair with someone or something and get a life. -

I will never understand why people who so clearly don't like the TV adaptation insist on continuing to watch it because there is so much more else they could be doing. -
I'm not a book reader, so I've got no idea, but it really shows that, despite his being much weaker, relatively speaking, than Ishy, Lanfear, and Moggy, he's still pretty powerful.

Gaebril was just broadcasting compulsion (and false memories) constantly, which is really scary. Also, I was right that announcing the casting of Nuno Lopes as Gaebril was confirmation of Rahvin's inclusion.

Elly and Avi having a one-night-stand can absolutely be the catalyst for relationship development rather than the culmination of the same. -
S3E2:A Question of Crimson - Discussion

I wasn't shocked at all, although that might just be because Olivia Williams has a storied history of playing characters who are heroic but still do some pretty barbaric and ruthless things. -
Wheel of Time Season 3 - Full Season Discussion
DigificWriter replied to SinisterDeath's topic in Wheel of Time TV Show
I said this after we got the Sneak Peak, but I still don't think we're actually going to see the Tower Coup happen this season, although they're very deliberately seeding it. -
I don't think there's a distinction at all, as WoTTuber and die-hard book nerd Lezbi Nerdy just used the term "resurrected" in her most recent video to describe Ishy's return in the books. 🙂
-
Ishy definitely died at the end of Season 2, so what looks to be happening is that the show is going to resurrect him like he apparently was in the books, just not with a different identity.
-
I don't think she was talking about Tear and The Stone being in Season 3, just confirming that there are plans to get to that part of the story in the future.
-
I guess Ishy is in one of the S3 posters. That puts the kibosh on my theory about him being dead for good, although that fact does make me a little bit sad.
-
I left this out of my earlier comments about Episode2x08 because I was pressed for time, so I'm bringing it up now: I really don't think they're gong to resurrect Ishy despite how good Fares Fares was in the role and even if his resurrected identity had parts to play in the story later on in the books.

Random thoughts fresh from rewatching Episode 2x08: * I still love that Rand just ganks Turak and his soldiers using the One Power * I know that the visual design of the Horn of Valere caused consternation for some people, but I personally loved it * Egwene getting to fulfill her promise and straight-up kill Renna still slaps as hard now as it did the first time I watched the episode * I really hope Season 3 Episode 8 starts with a Cold Open that's set in the Age of Legends because it'd be a shame to break the pattern * Mat and Uno being Heroes of the Horn was the perfect way to both delight book readers and subvert their expectations * I'm the type of person who doesn't believe that every narrative beat has to be either explicitly spelled out or shown onscreen, so the fact that we didn't actually get confirmation of Ingtar being a Dark Friend or see him and Loial get the Horn has never bothered me * I like the less rigid way that the show has treated the second and third of the Three Oaths when it comes to hostile situations and/or battle postures, and never understood the logic behind trying hard to poke holes in Moiraine's assault on the Seanchan ships (which some people did once upon a time) * Having Lanfear be afraid of Moggy was the perfect way to introduce the latter character

Speculation on episode 1 of season 3
DigificWriter replied to Asmasur's topic in Wheel of Time TV Show
WoTTuber Lezbi Nerdy was speculating that the "it" Liandrin asked Nyomi about was the A'dam bracelet that was the very first thing that was grabbed, and she was additionally speculating that it's one of a pair that they're looking for and the the second might be found on a statue in Tanchico, which is why Liandrin, Joiya, and other Dark Friend Aes Sedai go there (as seen in the trailers). I don't personally have any idea what any of this means, but thought I'd put it out there anyway. -
You're not alone in that. Internally, the locale was referred to as the FFH, but we didn't know what FFH stood for* until we got the flashback Cold Open to the episode Daes Dae'mar. * it's an acronym for Fishwives Fxck Hut
-
Except the picture frame she used didn't take her to Siuan's rooms in the Tower; it took her to a hut in Tear (the same hut that she and Siuan talked about wanting to retire to before their lives were upended by Gitara's Foretelling about the Dragon Reborn).

Again, nobody is making any attempt to explain how a 4/4 gender split makes sense given Lanfear's dialogue; they're just defaulting back to the visual appearances of the 8 statues. People also keep talking about Gaebril being the alias of a Forsaken other than Rahvin, but even as a spoiled non-book reader, I just don't see the evidence to support that idea, especially when you take into consideration the reality of the show needing to be both judicious and simplistic when it comes to the condensing of 14 books. IOW, if Rafe and his team didn't intend to use Rahvin, there's no need for them to have included the character of Gaebril at all.
-
There being 4 male Forsaken and 4 female Forsaken included in the show doesn't make sense given that Lanfear only name-checked two other females besides herself, which is why I'm beginning to think that the assertion that one of the unidentified statues being "clearly female" is wrong and that, in order to figure out who the last unidentified Forsaken is, we have to figure out how to square the statues with Lanfear's dialogue about the others... which nobody has really done as of yet.
-
Somebody elsewhere suggested that they're going with Aran'gar, but my thought there is that if that's the route they're going, it makes more sense in light of the Metaphysical change that they made that they give us Balthamel as a female-to-male Trans character (in spite of the problematic nature of having the first openly Trans character on the show be evil), which would explain both the feminine appearance of that one statue and Lanfear's use of the catch-all descriptor "the boys".

The back and forth over this one scene proves that some people have forgotten how to just enjoy things.
