  1. Not sure if we should make this it's own thread or move it to the one from last year but now that we've got two more Forsaken confirmed we can guess how they match with the statues.. From the left: Moggy - nothing to go off other than she's confirmed and isn't the other female statues Semihage - not confirmed but the only other female could be Mesaana and this statue reminds me of her Sammael - poor lil dude Ishy - confirmed in the episode Lanfear - moon belt Asmo - dudes holding a guitar / lute Demondred - guessing as he's more important than the other male possibilities Graendel- confirmed, also boobs..
  2. Oh we're definitely getting more detective Verin, I'm thinking it will lead to a group of blacks fleeing the tower which sets up Tanchico and Moggy for next season. Regarding Moraines supposed stilling, I agree with SD that Ishy being able to magically heal her (untie the shield) as leverage makes sense. Being "without power" doesn't say much either way, I also noticed Ishy lied to Lanfear about capturing the girls - plural. Such a fun scene, they're both casually messing with each other.
  3. This was a fun episode, they're doing a good job of upping the ante so far. Alot to unpack but I want to start with.. B*tch.. True Power baby 😇 Moraine outfoxing Lanfear was so much cooler than her tricking a fade. Doing a great job with the Seanchan, love their weird hair. Avi!!! Cool fight, though a bit.. stuttery, could go with nearly half the cuts. Also notice how Dains crescent axe stood out, was half expecting Perrin to walk off with it. I'll bet all the imaginary internet points he ends up with it by the end of the season. Ishy and Lanfears dream was amazing, the power dynamics were.. wow! He really enjoys humbling people. Moggy and Graendel were my guesses, interesting Lanfear left out the 4th female (Semihage?). Welcome to Sherlock Verin 😉 Nice to see some browns in action, little person AS represent! But yeah, we've mostly seen BA this season.. allegedly. Liking Moraine with her family, Barthaines seems to innocent to be a dark friend though. It feels like it will be moved to her sister, though I'm guessing the Queen. Need a reason to kick off the civil war, well probably be meeting the Queen in the next two eps and having her be a DF as an excuse to kill her this season before the marriage.. etc. Liandrin dropping off the girls was amazing, it's nice to see a scene that's virtually pulled out of the books. Eggy is going to have a rough time 🥺 With that out of the way, anyone else feel like Elayne and Nyn got KO'd like a couple of girls? It looked a bit.. silly. I think I would have preferred some solid judo chops.
  4. Tom was in TGH but wasn't playing the game, he didn't want to get involved and was more interested in his life with his young lover. He was at the party but didn't really want to be associated with Rand and he killed the king because he found out the kings men killed his lover. It was in Tear during TSR where he actively played the game to help Rand.
  5. Serious question, did Lanfear actually die? Now I'm no marine biologist but would those wounds kill you straight away? Genually curious. Yeah, it looks like she died but I wouldn't be surprised if she was playing possum to see what Rand does. For a hot second it sounded like he was going to avenge her.
  6. There's also a weird daja vu glitch when Eggy catches up with Nyn. Eggy notices her new ring and leans in.. Nyn backs off.. Eggy leans in.. in the exact same manner, like it appears to be exactly the same. It's.. weird, I can't tell if its an editing issue or intentional..? or maybe I'm just stupid..
  7. I thought it was obvious she took him to Kinslayers Dagger to get some Kinslayers dagger 😂
  8. 100% agree! Let's make them more than an obstacle, lean into the horror and make them scary capable. The Forsaken povs in the books are incredibly fun and fascinating, and so far i think Ishy and Lanfear have some of the best scenes, Fares and Natasha are killing it. I do still hope they keep the Dark One transmigration souls, on top of the TP healing it would make them more formidable. I get it could be confusing but it was also confusing in the books, even other Forsaken werent sure who they were, though they guessed correctly. Though I'm not sure how I feel about a seal per Forsaken, they should all be free around about now. I guess it could be misinformation.?
  9. Liked this episode the best so far. Perin learning his wolf side is fun, I'm glad they straight up said he's not a warewolf, was worried for a second. Nice to know his visions are wolf sending, that's cool. And dreaming is related somehow, not to mention... Hopper!! Matt still jot doing much, on his was towards Rand for some.. sinister reason.? Based on episode 7s title I'm thinking they may just flicker there way to Falme 😃 Wonder girls are on there way, I'd have liked to see more training over cleaning though.. Moraine and her sister is interesting, I'm guess that's how they get to Barthaines party and is somehow related to the upcoming civil war. Liking Rand an Selene, I feel this is better than the books and is far more disturbing. Interesting to watch her to see where the mask slips: Selene: I like you young and not so experienced" Rand: "you'd be surprised" Selene: (quickly swallow that crazy) Going to be fun to see how this plays out now the crazy is out of the bag. It doesn't bother me she is able to mysteriously heal. This happens a couple of times in the books without explanation and at least they're showing via the Saa it's related to the True Power. I think the bug question here is, did we see TP healing or resurrection? P.s. did anyone notice in the cold openin where Ishy looks to thr skies, towards the top of the rock formation to the right theres a building slightly sticking out?
  10. "Previously on The Wheel Of time" 😎 I get what you're saying but don't quite agree. You don't need to remind the audience someone's alive for a fake out death plot. I may be being stubborn, but I think they'll keep Moraines "death" as it impacts several characters plot / growth. To further back this up, there was an interview I'm pretty sure was not long after season 1 where Rafe tells a story about how happy he is the crew is invested in the shows story. And how he said in front of some that a certain someone dies in season 3, which they were shocked / upset to hear.. a) I can't think of any prominent characters that would have this reaction at this time and considering the show is borderline Moraine sentric.. b) Pike was in this interview and I rewatched it focusing on her. She Aes Sedia'd the crape out of her face, considering her boss was telling a fun anecdote she barely reacted.. I feel it's obvious we'll get this plot, I do agree that Pike won't be sidelined for half the series though and we'll get the alive reveal a lot earlier. E.g. end of season 3 Moraine "dies" Towards the end of season 4 we see her fighting through the nightmare scenarios of the Fin Season 5 we see different scenarios which makes it weird and suspect, we also see Moridin liberating Lanfear and we see she's in a magic trap. And she's rescued in season 6.! All the while we get New Spring flashbacks via Lan. Yeah, she's made a secondary character during this but this is when the E5 really need the focus. And it will give her time to sort out 11 audio books 😉
  11. Also it wasn't clear that he was stabbing Rand. Because of the angle, he could have been stabbing something just behind Rand. It was obscure, based on her reaction it feels like Rand got stabbed. Though she might not know what this vision means so that could be for the audience. Was it that dagger? I couldn't really tell but I noticed golden filigree on the hilt. Maybe Matt gives him the wound? Someone suggested this could be a vision of a vision, as in what she saw was what Mat lived during his flicker lives.. I like this idea, keen for some flickering 😉 A huge missed opportunity to not include the flickering concept in a trailer, regardless if it makes it in the show.
  12. It's definitely a step up or two from last season and so far I think it's great. The 1st ep hit the hardest and was a bit jarring at times, will give it a rewatched or 2 which helped a lot with season 1. There'd a lot more to love though.. Elaynes amazing, really is perfect casting Nyns test was something special Liking Perrins arc (golden eyes golden eyes!) Veins fun, "so you found the Dragon Reborn.." 🔥 any one notice how she was sporting her browns on the farm and once they left she was dressed in black? Liking Selene with Rand, she's totally messing with his dreams, all supportive lover whilst awake and giving him nightmares of killing his friends, and that last dream where we see "Lanfear" come out. Going to be fun watching the crazy come out. Don't have much of an opinion on Matt other than Donal is doing good. I could go on, overall the virtues far put way my problems, super keen to see where it's going 😀
  13. Wasn't it in the books to "gentle" a man? And that was more ceremonial, I guess 8 is the new magic number. We also see Liandrin and 2 sisters gentle that guy in the opening scenes in season 1, so it's not a hard rule. I was guessing Moraine was shielded with a touch of compulsion, he virtually told her she was stilled which is similar to how Moggy uses compulsion, like a kind of verbal reprogramming tool. Though Lan should be able to tell the difference right? In saying that I don't remember it being in the books how a warder is impacted by their AS being shielded sooo 🤷‍♂️ Either way they believe it so Lan has lost his warder perks and is suffering from severe depression. Which makes Moraine being a pill to him a bit harsh. Something j noticed, later ep spoiler: I could go either way but I'm sticking with shielded / compulsed
  14. So at the end of Nyns test we see... One eyed Matt Perring fighting with a hammer and killed by an axe And Lan "sheathing the sword" 🥳
  15. Assuming I'm not merging episodes That said, I don't know that it's so much as humanizing her, as it's motivating her towards her towards who she's working for. We finally got a look at what would happen... if an Aes Sedai had a child and... out lived them. Yep, I was more pointing out how non-book fans may perceive her at this point. Kinda liking Liandrins portrayl, what's her name is doing an amazing job. Ep 3 spoiler:
  16. So I've rewatched the fade fight and it still bugs me.. For starters; loved the shadow jumping, always thought that was under utilised in the books so that was super cool. Liked their weird movement and how they were like a viper.. But!! It bothered me that.. They no longer have the "I'm not quite dead sir" death throws.. Lans super kick wasn't as cool as they thought it was.. The menacing looming instead of killing.. And.. who here believes Lan can't kill two fades? This bugs me, and what's stupid, like really stupid.. and I mean this may just be me but hear me out.. Three fades!! P.s. I also think Dragkah would have been cool here and that's bugs me too 😔
  17. Just looked at the map and you are correct, Falme is in Amoth Plains, and if I remember correctly, it is contested lands for Arad Doman and Tarrabon? Cheers 🍻
  18. I've thought about this and understand it's difficult for a visual medium. I did like the way the movie American Warewolf in Paris sis it, as a kind of aura like effect with different colors as different smells - as an example. Like yeah, Hurin can smell violence and Perrin has heightened senses and can smell emotions but It just feels weird how he can "smell" a girl getting kidnapped. Honestly, I'm not arguing here. Just confused, which isn't necessarily a bad thing and as I said we most likely have some explanations coming.
  19. Pretty sure Rafe confirmed Elaida will be in the show, don't think it's this season though. It's been a few months since the end of last season (5?) with Perrin and co chasing Fain. I'd guess they're in Arad Doman which boarders Saldaea.
  20. Maybe, but neither one has visions.. Honestly, if I can turn my brain off I'd say it looks cool and I like it. But turning it back on I don't understand, it made sense and would be cool if it was wolf talk, but it doesn't feel like that.. Maybe it's due to his connection to TAR? Instead of him having prophetic visions in TAR.. or on top of.. I don't know. I reckon we're going to have some teaching moments coming up soon, we'll see if it gets explained.
  21. Yep, loved Nyns test. End to end was amazing, I don't even care she broke the rules and did the impossible to get out, it feels more believable and in line with the books as she does something similar for her AS test. I know it's disturbing but I'm liking Selene and Rands relationship, she seems happy 😉 Their last scenes where she pins him and says "walk away from me again and I'll kill you", I pointed at the screen and said "there she is!" Litterally lol'd a couple seconds later when she wanted him to keep the Dragon coat on. That's totally her messing with his dreams right? Than he wakes up and burns the house down.. You know boys on occasion wake up with a mess but.. Dragon problems, am my right 🤭
  22. He found a horn alright, poor bugger. Isn't Elayne lovely, quite liking her so far. I scoffed when she brought her bedroom with he and gave a satisfied nod when she got in trouble for it. So we're humanising Liandrin now.. if I didn't know better I'd think she's not evil and just a B. Not sure how I feel about Perins "I can smell the past" vissions. Last episode made me think he was getting sent the visions from wolves.. Liked this episode better than the first but over all looking good.
