  1. "You can stop hanging around your chamber all day and start doing something around the Black Tower, that would be a start." Covai responded. "I'm in no mood to banter around today, and judging from your attitude neither are you. Shall we just get this over with so we can both get back to what we were doing?" The sarcasm was clear in Covai's voice. The damn Illianer's attitude never sat well with Covai, and he knew trying to pretended otherwise. The man was an idiot, but no fool. False pleasentries would just be wasted this day.

Leaning back against the doorframe, Covai crossed his arms and waited for a response. After apparently biting back some rather colorful words, the Illianer leaned back in his chair. "Very well then. Lets hear what you do be wanting to say."

Covai nodded. "You've heard about what happened at Shiener an..." "Fortune prick me I did!" Brent interuppted, slamming his fist down on the table in rage. "I did send you with a whole.." "SHUT UP!" Covai barked back. "Your ignorance pushes even my tolerance to the limit in the best of occasions. Don't think for even a moment that I'm prepared to listen to you act superior in this occasion when you never even got your arse out of that damn chair of yours!"

Taking a slow deep breath to calm him self as he stared back at the self proclaimed leader of the Black Tower, Covai could just feel the words flowing out of him. "Light burn you and your damn pride Enios. I came to tell you I'm on my way to speak with Jarron." Covai made a point of using the Dragon Reborn's name in a familiar fashion. Truth told, he had only met the man twice before, only one of which they had even talked. Still, it was more than most in the tower, and it was an edge he was relying on at the moment.

Leaving the rest of his message unsaid, Covai pushed off the wall and turned to leave the room. It didn't even take one step before the M'hael spoke. "Seriba...just what in the light do you planing?" Covai was glad his back kept the grin on his face hidden from the Illianer. The threat in Brent's voice was almost palatable. Arath was just out of the corner of his eyesight, but he was sure the man knew as well as he did smiling at Brent now would likely psuh things too far, and result in an open, probably violent confrontation.

Looking back over his shoulder so only his eyes could be seen, Covai spoke as if he was repeating how the sky was blue to a child for the hundredth time. "As I said, I'm going to speak with Jarron, the Leader of the Black Tower." The message was clear his voice as to where his loyalties lay. "And I'm going to speak to him about joining forces with the Aes Sedai."

Without waiting for a response, Covai set off down the corridor. Grabbing a Dedicated by the should as he passed, Covai pushed him into the center of the corridor. He wasn't looking back to see if Brent was trying to follow, but he wasn't in the mood to continue the conversation. Especially if it just involved trying to rationalise his reasons to the fool. The poor dedicated would back a noble sacrifice to help Brent up for a few moments.

Grabbing the two nearest Asha'man as he left the buidling by the back of the collar, Covai pushed them towards the Travelling grounds. "You two with me. We're going to Tear."

OOC: 3 spots here guys. Don't worry too much about the ranks, I'll change them later. Arath will also be a chance for the poor sacrifice to come along to tear as well if they want.

  2. Covai rolled his eyes as the room started to go quiet. "You really should learn not to use the word crazy around here girl." He mumbled as people paused from the meals. A glance from him was fortunately all it took for people to busy themselves back in their mugs though. Palming the two bowls off to the boys, Covai ran his fingers through his hair as he sat down. "Take a seat." He said, motioning to the chair opposite. When the girl just stood there holding the hilt of the dagger Covai's eyes and voice hardened. "I said sit."

Easing off when she finally sat, Covai just sighed and shook his head. "Look, I know you must be new here, so let me repeat myself. Do not use the word crazy around here. Take it as a warning or piece of of friendly advice, but you'll find it will make things a lot easier for you around here. Secondly, feel free to keep that dagger of yours, but if you walk around clutching it like that everywhere, you're like as not to start a fight. And considering that's exactly what people around here train for each day, I don't really like your chances of winning."

Covai paused when noticed the boys had started to paying attention to the conversation. He couldn't help but blink at how they had already managed to finish the bowls of food though. Glancing around for something to distract them, he was lucky to spot on the the older serving ladies who worked at the inn. "Do you think you could rumage some sweet rolls for these two boys? I think they could do with a bit of a treat."

Turning to the girl, Covai extended the invite. "You sure you're not hungry?"

  3. Alright, I need everyone's attention here for a few moments. Jokes aside, this is some very big news so I'd like everyone to take it seriously. Please read the following two links.

    http://www.brandonsanderson.com/blog/750/Do-You-Want-to-Appear-in-A-Memory-of-Light

Quick sumarry though, is the Brandon Sanderson is, in cojunction with Tarvalon.net and Harriet running a charity auction where you can appear in the final book in the Wheel of Time series. Now we've just started off a series of RPs to lead towards our own preperations towards the last battle true, but this is a chance to be part of the REAL thing (at least as real as books are, but you all know what I mean :P)

At the moment bidding/donating ends in April. I've got about $500 or so I can throw in right now, but I reckon I can triple that or so by the time the charity closes. I'd like to see how much we'd be able to raise here as a community though. (Plus I've gotta get paypal set up so I can actually make the donation :P)

For now though I did just want to bring everybody's attention to this big event. Please tell as many people as you can, and donate as much as you can. Please also post here to say that you've read and know about the event (even if you can't donate)

Oh, and before you ask, I've already emailed the organisers about having the Asha'man added to the list of groups to represent the fan base at the Last Battle. Byast and shameful, I know  :-[ But I just couldn't help it. After all, the Asha'man are supposed to be there helping Rand and the Last Battle and kicking the Shadow's butt!!  ;D

  4. Fixing the dragon and sword pins to his collar, Covai glanced himself over in the mirror. Truth be told he was more comfortable in his usual tunic and leggings, but there wasn't much in the way of comfort to be had this day. He probably was already mad, going to ask a figure from legends for permission to unite with people who had hunted them down for thousands of years. Running his fingers through his hair, the Storm Leader let out a sigh. The wheel had already started to turn. The best he could to was run at it head on to bump it in the right direction.

Grabbing his sword from against the chair where he had left it, Covai fastened it to his waist as he left the room. Pausing for a moment for place a ward around the doorway, he wondered just how long it would be until he was back. Truth be told, he wasn't even sure where to look for the Dragon. The best he knew was that the Asha'man in Tear might know something about his where abouts. It was their main recruiting point, and it was also home to the Cache of Angrael and Ter'angrael, including the Sa'angrael Callandor. Still, there was something to be done before he even left.

Even before the M'hael's quarters came into sight, Covai could already feel the change in the atmosphere. Word had spread between the Storm and Attack Leaders about what had happened at Sheinar. Some had been called back for today for this meeting, but not all could be spared from their usual duties. Covai's eyes scanned the crowd for Arath as he made is way towards Brent' quarters, the crowd parting before him. Covai knew he has a reputation for unusual for a Storm Leader for his laid back attitude, and most seemed to realise if he was dressed formal it was safer to just stay away. Even so, he still couldn't spot his Andoran ally. Perhaps the man was already inside. This damn Illianer was bad enough to deal with at the best of times. What Covai had planned would hardly make it any easier. Going one on one with the M'hael wasn't something he was looking forward this morning.

Raising his arm in time to stop the door slamming him in the face as it opened, Covai felt the impact as the Asha'man running out bounced backwards off the door. Without saying anything, Covai simply opened the door and stood in the doorway looking at the man. "You should watch where you're going." Covai reprimanded the man. "But besides that, whatever you're doing can wait for a moment. Take me to Brent and let him know Storm Leader Covai Seriba is here to speak with him"

OOC: First one in gets the spot.

  5. True, its just a bitch when she expects her boyfriend to make them all come true without telling him what they are :P

You can start your intro RP without your scores, since you wont really be doing anything with Saidin in it. So you can get started anytime you want :)

  6. "Easy there, they won't hurt themselves." Covai commented as he sat down next to the girl. Altaran unless he missed his guess. Probably new to the Black Tower as well. Cute enough, if a little bit on the mopey side. The dagger wasn't exactly an open invite either. "You might want to avoid the phrase 'go crazy' as well, it tends to make people a bit on edge around here."

Purposely busying himself with looking at something, Covai was pretty sure he should be glad he missed whatever the expression on her face was. She's probably new to the Tower, shouldn't bee too hard on her i guess.. Stretching his arms above his head as he leant back, Covai felt himself connect with something behind him.

Next thing he knew he was lying on his back with his feet in the air, a bowl in each hand a loaf of bread stuck in his mouth. Blinking in surprise, Covai could see the serving girl clutching the tray to her chest, about to pass out from fright by paleness in her face. Fortunatley the loaf of bread stopped a grin from appearing across his face. The fright has done her enough. If she thought a Storm Leader had litteraly gone mad at her she's likely pass out then and then.

Closing his eyes to calm himself for a moment, Covai embraced the source and embraced Saidin. Pushing past the taint he formed a small dome around the top of each bowl in the shape of a sphere. Biting down on the loaf he thrust his hands upwards, brining his legs down rapidly at the same time to bring himself back up to his feet.

He caught the first bowl easily enough, but the second one bounced off his shoulder and required another leap of faith before he managed to catch the base of it. He knew if it weren't for the weave he had created his face almost certainly be covered with food by that stage. That or it would be all over the ground.

Eyeing the food, Covai was surprised to see slivers of beef mixed with slivers of peppers, onions, and a few other things he hadn't learnt the name of yet. Looked like the trip he and Arath had made to Arad Doman had paid off. The food was a nightmare to eat with those funny 'sursa' or whatever is was that they were called, but it was worth it. He'd have to have a word with the inn staff later to find who the new cook was.

The sound of hands clapping brought him back to his senses. The two boys were standing in front of him clapping like he was a preforming Gleeman. Light, I suppose after that little performance all I'm missing is the cape.... Shrugging the thought from his mind, Covai palmed the thought from his mind. Checking before he sat back down, he offered the second bowl to the girl. "Hungry? It's still good, I managed not to drop any."

  7.

Hee hee.  But seriously, I'm going to try to pin you or Covai down in the next couple of days and get some brainstorming done on this.

I'm not sure whether to be scared or excited :P

Welcome to the madness though :) And if you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to poke Arath with sharp pointy things  ;D

  8. *Perks up at the mention of cookies*

    I'm here!

    *Eyes everyone in the room*

Damn! Cookies will have to wait  >:(

Seriously though, I'm not sure whether to be impressed or concerned you've finally joined us. Either way its good to see you around  ;DLet us know if you need anything in the way of Training RPs. Arath should be taking care of your scoes and such.

  9. Covai was barely able to keep himself from swearing. The bloody Dedicated had used a gateway as a short cut. Even he hadn't thought about that. It wasn't what you could call a new weave, but still, it was well within the rules. He felt like kicking Arath too. The man just used fire to make sure the flame didn't go out. It wasn't what Covai had hoped for...but again, it was within the rules. He wanted to specify things better next time, but that would just defeat the purpose. As much as it hurt, he'd been caught out twice. He'd just have to see how many more times it would happen before the day was over.

"All right now" Covai addressed those who had made it succesfuly. "Time for the next phase." They all stood some six feet or so from the edge of the tree line, with candles in various conditions on the ground before them. Covai walked around each of them tracing a circle at their feet just over a foot or so wide.

"This time is a little different. First rule, you can not step outside of the circle. Second rule, you have fifteen minutes to construct something that will allow you to cook your breakfast. I won't tell you what you'll be cooking, but your ingredients will arrive after you're done. So do try not to just make the usualy campfire. The second rule will come later."

  10. "It is." A cold fire burned behind Covai's eyes as he pulled the hammer from it's resting place. Spreading his feet apart as rested the shaft over his shoulders, Covai vaguely noted the others had moved away to give him space. "Now watch"

Tweaking the elements to add to the visability has he wove, Covai's left hand reached out in front of him as a ball of fire and earth began to swirl above his finger tips. Flexing his right arm from the shoulder, Covai could feel the power flow through his palm and wrap itself along the hammer's shaft. Focusing the strength of the weave into the hammerhead, Covai let out a grunt as heaved the the hammer from his shoulder. A twist to set the ball of fire and earth spinning was all he had time for before bringing the hammer down.

In the moment the weaves connected there was a blinding flash as the sphere he had created was torn apart, tearing throught the ground beneath it as it erased the distance between the targets. The shockwave from the hammer was barely a second behind, creating a sort of earthen wave briefly before crashing against the manikins. Covai heard at least one of them take in a deep breath as the manikins were uprooted and set flying towards the tree line at the edge of the practice area.

Waiting for the dust cloud to settle, Covai relaxed his grip on the hammer's shaft, letting the weight of it's head drop it to the ground beside him. Resting his arm casually on the pommel, the Storm Leader tilted his head slightly.

    "Training enough for you Dedicated?"

  11. Covai's arm quivered from the aftermath of his last attach. For the last week he had been focusing everything he could about himself into hairwidth sharpness. He had been the one to make the decisions at Sheinar, he had been responsible for the men who had lost their lives, and the Shadow would have to destroy him before he allowed it to happen again.

Breathing heavily as he spread his feet, Covai focused a chain of air before whipping it around him, tweaking it the moment before it's release so it spread outwards, parting the dust cloud still lingering in the air. The effect reminded him of an open palm slapping water, with each link of the chain exploding against the area around him. He had developed a few variant's over the morning's length, but the general purpose was the same. The.. palm slap would buy him the moment's him he needed for the kingfisher's strike.

Clenching his fist and releasing it softly, Covai smiled ruefully. Since when had he started giving names to these techniques he had developed? Pushing thought aside with the numbness in his arm, Covai eyed the various craters and rubble around him. Dropping himself to the ground, Covai took the waterskin from his hip to wet his lips and throat. He knew the answer.

He was preparing himself to visit the Dragon Reborn. He was seeking aid in combat against the Forsaken. He was going to suggest an alliance between men and women not heard of since before the Breaking of the World, since the Age of Legends. Names and titles gave people strength, something to focus on, something beyond themselves they could draw upon when all else had failed. Part of him wanted to recreate that feeling of strength and reliability.

Recorking the waterskin, Covai retied it to his waist and released the source. Resting his chin on his hand, Covai studied the distruction he had caused. It was unusual how much energy he still had left. True, he had bee using new weaves, but he couldn't say whether it was that, or if it was simply strength from from determination. He knew his reaction speed had increased, which would always come in handy. But it was also handy having no attacks to worry about either.

That was it, that was what was bothering him. He needed someone to attack him. The only problem was to do the type of training he was after was that he couldn't guarantee the other person's safety. Still, if he focused on the technique of the weaves instead of the strength behind it, that should still give him valuable practice.

Bringing himself to his feet, Covai dusted himself off. He'd almost feel sorry for the first one he found if he wasn't so determined to improve his techniques.
