  1. Character History: Jasin Mandraam was born with a fortune that some would call bad, and others good. What Jasin himself thought, none knows but the young traveler himself. Jasin grew up knowing of his parents, but never knowing them. His parents were a successful oil traders, with ships under their commands. They made it a point to accompany the ships once in a while, to satisfy their love of the sea and to make sure their workers do their respective tasks with their all. It was one of those days.

     

    Jasin's parents had not gone to accompany the ships in a long time due to his mother's pregnancy, and now that Jasin was already 5 months old, they could not dam their longing for the open sea, and once again went with the oil ships. Fate played a cruel hand however, and chose that day to throw an unpredictable yet vicious storm. Out of 8 of the oil ships that went out, only 5 returned and the ship that Jasin's parents were on wasn't one of them. A search was conducted right away, turning up more than a few survivors but not a sign of Jasin's parents were seen. After another week of fruitless search, the search group gave up, leaving the fate of Jasin's parents to the Sea of Storms. Subsequently Jasin was put in the care of his father's sister, along with his inheritance which would be in the care of Jasin's aunt until the only son of the unlucky couple come of age.

     

    Despite his early misgiving, Jasin had a happy childhood. His aunt loved him like her own, and her family welcomed him with warmth and care. Jasin grew up with a cousin who was of age with him, and a female cousin a few younger than himself. All in all, there was never a boring moment in Jasin's life. From the first, his aunt never tried to hide the fact of what happened with Almain's parents. Thus, almost from the day he understood what death was, Almain learned of the reason why he is without parents. However, to everyone's surprise Jasin did not resent what happened to his parents,  instead, Jasin frequently asks to be told the story of what happened that day, and listened with a dreamy smile on his face. The people around him were puzzled by this, and more than a few shook their heads in pity. None of them knew, or even bothered to ask what was in the child's mind. Everybody had given up Jasin's parents as dead, but they never actually fount the ship Jasin's parents were in, or even any remains of it. In the people's mind Jasin's parents were dead, but Jasin thought differently. In his mind, he could see his parents sailing off past the Sea of Storms toward the vast and mysterious Aryth Ocean, hand in hand in the grandest adventure. One day, Jasin's sure, when his parents were fed up with their daring adventures, they would come back to Mayene full of exotic treasures and epic stories for Jasin. Until his death, Jasin would hold this belief close to his heart. Life went on as usual, and life was pretty much normal for Jasin. At the young age, he couldn't have asked for anything better, couldn't imagine anything better. However, once again the Threads woven by the Wheel was harsh.

     

    Jasin was always a weak kid, he knew and accepted the fact. He would tire more easily than others and could not endure as much. But Jasin compensated that weakness by a strong mentality. He took the words 'Mind over Matter' to heart and quite literally. Often, he would force himself to exhaustion while playing with his friends and working, not wanting to give up on the weakness that had been put on him upon birth. His aunt, realizing the danger of that always warned him about doing so, but regardless Jasin kept on, not believing that anything bad would come out of it. Until one day.

     

    Jasin was playing at a duel with one of his friends. He loved to read, and he loved the heroes and their magnificent deeds, so as a normal boy, he would pretend he was like one of them. With makeshift swords and spears, Jasin and his friends would train to be Blademasters and at some other times test their skills against one another. That day, Jasin was fighting one of his friends, a big kid and some kind of a brute. In the middle of the fight, Jasin became tired but refused defeat and kept on fighting. Finally, at the peak of exhaustion he managed to beat the kid and made him admit defeat. Jasin barely raised his hands up before he was suddenly attacked by a vicious headache. Purely by a power of will, Jasin managed to stay up, but soon enough, Jasin couldn't even tell which way is up as the world began to spin. With the headache came an odd feeling in his gut, and his whole body felt heavy as if the gravity had multiplied. The colors of the world seemed to fade to a washout mirror of reality and his vision blurred. He could see his friends still, except that the world blurred so much that Jasin could not even discern their facial features. Clutching his head, Jasin could see his friends gesturing at them, and their mouths moving, but Jasin could not hear anything but a loud silence. In a weak voice he said to them that he was going to sit down. Jasin started to walk towards an empty crate, every step seemed dreamlike and heavy, and he was not sure he could make the few spans without collapsing but he was spurred with a fierce thought on his mind, something that told him that everything would be okay once he sat down. Jasin was pushed by his determination, and fear, intense fear that he had never known before, a fear of facing an unknown situation, unknown situations, and unsure consequences. Most of all, a fear of this sensations, the blinding headache, the dreamlike world and the overall feeling like he was out of this world, will never cease.

     

    After what had seemed to be forever, Jasin managed to sat down on the crate and almost right away, Jasin could feel his recovery. The headache was dying down and the vibrancy of the colors of the world returned. Relief surged inside Jasin, and he was confident that if he sits down long enough, the sensations would go away. In fact, it did go away, but not completely. Regardless, Jasin was confident that all would be fine. With that in mind, Jasin stood up to walk home and get a proper rest. However, as soon as he took the first step, Jasin realized that he had made a big mistake. With each step the sensations returned, the blinding headache, the world spun, dreamlike version of the world and the heaviness of his body. At that moment, nothing existed in Jasin's mind but reaching his home, his sanctuary.

     

    Jasin focused on each step, not responding the people's greetings around him, only watching his feet as they lumbered on forward. Raising his head, he looked for the door to his house, moving his head was hard and it only heightened the pain in his head. Almost stumbling, Jasin reached the entrance and with the last of his strength turned the knob. To his dismay, it was locked, and he instantly remembered that at that time, the house was empty and the key inside his aunt's pocket out there somewhere. Cursing under his breath, Jasin fruitlessly flailed at the door, afraid, and almost crying . Then the last of his strength sapped out, and darkness sunk in.

     

    Jasin woke up staring at the roof of his room. At first, he was puzzled at how he got there, but then the memories started to come back to him and he knew he had collapsed out cold. Jasin tried to move his hands and to his relief was able to. His body felt very weak and Jasin was dead tired, but the sensations were gone and he was alive. He heard voices outside of his room and recognized one almost instantly, his aunt. The other he recognized after a while to be the voice of the Wise Woman near his house, an old lady with an old wisdom. Jasin listened in on their conversation which was of course, concerning his health. As they continued on, Jasin's face expression turned darker per second. It seemed like the Wise Woman had seen and read this kind of symptoms. With a heavy voice, the Wise Woman pronounced what happened to the men that suffered the same kind of symptoms as Jasin was having: “They all passed away young.” Jasin was 14.

     

    The next day, the Wise Woman asked Jasin a lot of things, about what he had been feeling, looking for any kind of clues while all the while trying to convince Jasin that nothing was wrong with him. Jasin answered truthfully, and he could see the graveness of the situation behind the Wise Woman's forced smile. Jasin's body had recovered, but his mind was wounded. Outside, he would act normally and lead life like nothing had happened, but alone he spent his time crying and cursing The Creator and the Wheel for the cursed fate that had befallen him. For the first time in his life, Jasin truly felt the fear of death.

     

    It would be another 8 months before the same thing happened to Jasin, but this time, he managed to not faint. Later, it would again happen in a shorter time span, and so on and so on until at the age of 20, the blinding headache and other sensations sometimes happens twice in a month. By that time, Jasin was more used to the incidents, and were mentally ready for them. He had accepted that he was ill, and had continued living life to the fullest, living every day as if it's his last, which in Jasin's case would be very probable. He had grown up to be a good easy going young man. Loved by all and happy with his life. Knowing about his illness, he realized the importance of having a strong body, and managed to spare at least an hour everyday to train with his white oak staff. But Jasin could feel the clock ticking and his time getting short, so one day he thanked his aunt for everything, and left Mayene. The inheritance that he had were more than sufficient to travel decently for years, and the time was ripe. Jasin was going to explore every corner of the world, experience as many things as possible, before he would give up his body to his illness. With an image of his parents sailing the Aryth Ocean, Jasin set up to set a chapter of grand adventure for himself

  2. Ok, sorry folks about the slow startup on this class. I know I posted this over a month ago but sometimes it's really hard for me to get posts written with as hectic as my life has been. Between looking for a new job, doing sidejobs so I don't go broke, my staff duties, and family affairs I kind of let this slip. Anyway, Nyn has been poking me about it so I'll get it up this weekend, probably Sunday since I work 12 hours today, 10 tomorrow and 8 sunday. Anyway, thanks for your patience.

  3. No one would die on a tie vote and we'd simply move to night. Which could work out very badly for us good players.

     

    And I can only guess that since our lovely Moderator has an exam today, she hasn't been checking the past couple of days. She'll probably check tomorrow and we'll move to night with no lynch. So everyone, wish the spymaster the best of luck in finding the killer tonight. Otherwise we all lose.

  4. Umm, I don't care if you change your vote Jehaine. I haven't posted a thing in reaction to you voting for me. If that were the case I'd have voted for you. In fact, I haven't even posted anything in response to you at all. My opinion that you could easily be the symp is because A) Knowing that you are an inexperienced player, you would therefore play any role you might have as an inexperienced player. And B) right now you are acting very much like an inexperienced player. It's just how I see it. Talya is playing like a very experienced mafioso. She posted a denial of my claim without protesting overly much so as to avoid drawing more attention to herself with her vehemence. (Which, I might add, is exactly what you are doing.

     

    And on a final note, the comment about changing votes doesn't have anything to do with you Jehaine. I just wanted to be sure that everybody playing understood that since it seemed as though some might not.

  5. First, Jehaine, you're defending yourself a little too hard for someone I never actually accused of anything. Which I must say makes me a bit suspicious. As does the fact that you edited your own post.

     

    And Talya, I'm aware of the fact that you changed your vote. The FACT that you changed your vote in the first round actually makes you MORE suspicious as the killer has the most motive for guaranteeing a lynch on the first day. And adding the 4th vote gives it a plurality which many times a Mod will use in the absence of a clear majority vote. Also, with time still left in the day phase and knowledge that several people hadn't voted yet it was an easy move to decide to throw in the fourth vote and wait for what would be essentially inevitable.

     

    Unless of course you also used your symp to ensure the vote. I thought Kara was the symp before, and a part of me still does, but it could just as easily be Jehaine. Since Jehaine did jump in last on the lynch and strike the kill. The fact that she even bothered to defend herself when she wasn't being accused in even the smallest way only goes to strengthen that belief in my mind.

     

    Either way, I'm still reasonably certain that Talya is the Aes Sedai and if any of this makes sense to the rest of you players, I strongly encourage you to vote for her.

  6. Lynching for laughing. That's reasonable. I don't think that has much basis in fact... in fact, I'd go so far as to say that Kara is probably a symp. She has started the bandwagon both times, and while I may have hopped onto that band wagon the first round it was purely out of a need to see someone lynched. You learn nothing without it.

     

    So what have we learned? Two of our three biggest assets have been offed before day 2. That doesn't bode well for us. In fact, we good guys are probably going to lose unless we start using our heads and outsmarting these killers. So lynching because she laughed.... I just don't buy it. Tay is probably not the killer. In fact, I'll bet you the killer was one of the first 3 to vote this round. This is a crucial round for the killer. If they get a lynch and a death at night it goes from 7 to 5. There's at least 2 of them. That puts the odds STRONGLY in their favor. Not to mention the fact there's a damn good chance that the next person we lynch is our spymaster.

     

    So with that said, I can only help look at the patterns and wonder.

     

    Day 1:

    Sham: Kara, Coren, Taymist, Talya, Jehaine (5 votes)

    Kara: Segurant (1 vote) 

    Coren: Sham (1 vote)

    Talya: Mystica (1 vote)

     

    Day 2:

    Taymist: Kara, Talya, Segurant

    Coren: Jehaine

     

     

    One thing that proves true for a mafia game is this: The bad guys almost always follow the bandwagon the first day. This is the reason for going through with the bandwagon lynch. It may hurt the townsfolk and help the villains.... but it also nearly always gives you a group which you can be nearly certain your villains are in. This group consists of Myself, Kara, Tayla, Taymist, and Jehaine.

     

    At this point we can rule out Taymist. Only a complete imbecile would let herself get 3 votes stacked against her when it takes 4 to lynch. Which leaves Me, Kara, Talya, and Jehaine.

     

    Now here's where things get interesting. I was looking at the votes from today and yesterday and I noticed one commonality. Both days Kara and Talya voted for the same person. And honestly, I don't buy that they believe the whole "for laughing at sham" reason. That's not logical. In fact it's the sort of excuse someone who just wanted to see another death would use.

     

    Now Kara voted first in each case, which would make the most sense if she was the symp. If someone's going to get lynched for a bandwagon it's going to be either the first or the last vote. Talya was neither, which was smart. Kara was the first... which I say probably makes her the symp. She's disposable.

     

    Which is why I'm voting for Talya.
