  1. "I just couldn't stand seeing you touching her, Damian. I snapped." Damian smiled at her. He could tell her all day that there was no reason to snap, but what would he have done if he saw her being close to another man. Never mind what he felt through the bond, he was sure something would rise up in him as well.

"Its ok dear. I am sure I would have done the same. Amd I am sure you probably would have laughed at me as well before you called me a fool." He hugged her and gave her a kiss.

"Besides, you would have known if I had been doing or thinking in appropriate just with the bond. It would have felt something like this." He grabbed her again and dipped her giving her a kiss.

  2. Trevor al'Drukan III Esq.'s parents were in the other room screaming. It wasn't the first time this happened, and he was sure it wasn't the last. His father was very protective of him. Yes, he might have been the youngest son of the family, but they had always been close. However, his mother, though loving, couldn't stand him. Whenever Thad and his fun got a little ugly the two would start arguing. His father in his defense, his mother against him. He was always given some kind of punishment, but it was never harsh, and today seemed no different.

The door opened up and his father walked out and just looked at him. He stared at him for a second, then his head dropped as he shook it. Then he walked out of the room without looking back, a large, audible sigh escaping his lips. Once his father was gone his mother then made her way out of the room. She was always very regal looking, and today was no different. But today, there was something different. There was an air of satisfaction. Trevor did not like the look of this one bit.

"Look ma, it was an accident. See, Thad and I thought it would be totally awsome if we called Linor Alabaster an Aes Sedai! How would we know that people would here us? Blood and bloody ashes, we told people we didn't mean it. We were just having some fun, but the next thing you know more people started yelling Aes Sedai. Then vegetables started being thrown... that was totally excellent... then..."

"SILENCE!" At this point he decided that he needed to be afraid. "Your father has finally given in. We are sending you away Trevor. This cannot happen anymore." Sending him away? He was just 16. You didn't get sent away at 16 unless... was he going to gleeman camp? That would just... blow his mind.

"I get to go to camp?!" Anger just blazed in his mothers eyes. Ok, no camp.

"No darling, your father just left to inform the children of the light that they will be having a new recruit. Two in fact. Thad will be joining you."

Thad and him were joining the children? That was so totally uncool! "But Ma!"

"Quite! Go to your room... pack up some stuff, you will be leaving soon." Trevor stood up, almost numb... and made his way to his room.

He couldn't believe it! He was going to be a child of the light? That just wouldn't do! No more beer... no more women... NO MORE PARTYING! "Blood and bloody ashes." He looked out the window... and low and behold, there was Thad.

"Psssst... hey Trev! You goat faced sheeplover. Get your stuff. We're leaving."

    "I know."

"No, not there. I know where we can go, Trev, where they'll never find us. Someplace warm. A place where the ale flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctivley flock like the silverpike of Tear. I'm talking about a little place called... Tar Valon. Think about it, our parents will never know.. and if they did, those bloody Whitecloaks would never check there. Its perfect!" Trevor just smiled at the thought.

"Why Thad... when did you start thinking?? That is a totally awsome idea! I will be right down!"

Trevor rushed around his room grabbing what he would need. A few nice coats... a few nice trousers... he drinking mug... What little money he had, only a few bags of gold and silver. He doubted that would be enough to get to Tar Valon, but he never knew. He turned around to leave and there was his father standing in the doorway.

"Good, I was hoping you would leave before the Children came. I saw Thad outside and thought I better say my goodbuys." His father handed him two boxes. "I was going to give these to you on your birthday. Your old harp and flute were a little worn out. Also..." His father dropped a few more bags of coins in his hands. Ok, maybe they could make it at least half way to Tar Valon. "That should get you where ever you are going and be plenty to keep you up for a while." Trev looked at it again. Was his old man crazy? Maybe keep him a week... tops! Then they hugged.

"A horse is already saddled for you. Good luck son. Now go! Before your mother finds out!" Trevor ran down the stairs and out of the house to the stables. He threw his saddlebags on the horse and rode out to meet Thad.

    "Well Trevor, you ready?"

    "Party on Thad!"

"Party on Trev!" They air harped... and were off..

  3. "Now what?", asked Nynaeve. "If you want a private performance you'll have to wait, I'm afraid. Lillian isn't here and the mud pit I ordered hasn't arrived yet."

For some reason Damian couldn't resist another crack here. He knew it was the wrong thing to say... but for some reason his mouth wouldn't stay closed. "Mud? I'm Sorry Nynaeve Sedai, but I am more of a gelatin product man myself." He saw the anger well up in her eyes again as he felt it through the bond and knew he had to do something to push it down.

"Nyna, I love you. You know I would never do something to purposefully hurt you. All I know about that girl is that her form was horrible and if she ever tried to fight someone who knew what they were doing, she would die. And I say girl because that is what she is compared to you."

He looked at her, hoping to find something to latch on to to make things better. That was when he saw her dress again. It was probably ruined, though you never knew what Aes Sedai could do. Even ruined though, it was a beautiful dress. "My my, that is a beautiful dress. Even in the state it is in you look spectacular in it. I am disappointed I didn't get to see you with the dress in all its glory." He didn't say what else he was thinking, however he knew she knew.

"I am sorry Nyna, please, forgive me... or I am sure you could do something with the bond. If that helps, please, do what you need to do." He made sure his head was bowed with deference. He had to do something.

    Damian

  4. Name: Trevor al'Drakun III, Esquire

    Age: 16

    Height: 6'1

    Weight: 185 lbs

    Hometown: Amador, Amadcia

Trevor was the fifth son of a noble family in Amadcia. With the help of his best friend "The Dob", The Thadster, El Thadamundo, or Thadius al'Dobnan, he had made quite a name for himself in the city. Of course, he wasn't sure if anyone would be proud of that name, but it was his... and the Thad mans. He had found that life seemed to be much more interseting when doing something that others told you that you shouldn't do. Though his family tried to make him more refined, they were quickly realizing that this wasn't going to work. Finally they enlisted him in with the Children of Light along with Thad. Unable to comprehend ever trying to do a days honest work, or the fact that armor was good for anything else other than looking good, he made a run for it. He and Thad were off to drink in the world... litteraly, till they made their way to the one place the children couldn't find them.... Tar Valon

  5. "What are you waiting for? Go after her!" She had yelled at him and gave him a shove. What had just happened here? His head was still swiming. He had brushed off the kick to the knee, but he didn't know what in the world was going on. He felt her pain through the bond and came rushing to her side, yet she seemed even more angry than before. The anger floating through the bond was slowing turning from anger to what, as far as he could tell, he could only call... stubborness.

He tried to shake it off and go find her. He followed where the bond told him to go and quickly caught up to her. He knew she knew he was right behind her, but she just kept walking away, not looking back, trying to stay as regal as possible. That was when he noticed her dress. It was brand new, or had been, and he had the feeling that she had bought it for him. Another sigh escaped his lips.

"Nyna... NYNA... NYNAEVE!" She just kept on walking. He had one more trick to try to get her attention and he thought it might pull her out of her funk.

"Nynaeve Sedai! Is this how an Aes Sedai of the yellow Ajah act!" She rounded on him with fire in her eyes. He realized that maybe saying that might have the opposite effect of what he wanted. He looked around himself quickly, seeing if he could find a quick escape route. Unfortunately none could be found and she was quickly on him.

"See... I thought not." He took a large gulp and steeled himself for what was coming.

  6. Damian couldn't figure out what had just happened. He saw a young woman practicing with the blade and let her know that her form wasn't quite right. As he would have done with any trainee he began helping her to correct the problems. Her feet needed to be placed further apart. She was also not moving her hips correctly through some of the forms. Because of it she was leaving herself much to wide open. The fact that she was cute had crossed his mind, but it was just a perk

It was at that time that the little ball of emotions in the back of his head had gone from happiness to sudden... rage? He wasn't sure, but he had suddenly realized Nynaeve was close. He had walked over to her and talked, but obviously it wasn't something she wanted to talk about. Nynaeve then snapped at the young lady and he realized she was training to become Aes Sedai. What ever she was angry about he felt it best to stay out of it. Though he couldn't figure out why it had come on so suddenly!

Shaking his head as they left he began to walk off to resume his training. The bond was still new to him, and there was times he wished it told him more of what was going on than just emotions. Sighing he brought his blade out and began working through forms.

He didn't know how he knew, or what it meant, but he knew there was trouble. He felt a sudden flash of pain go through the bond. It went in and out along with a sudden emotion change from Nynaeve. He could feel satisfaction, then anger again, each corresponding with the amount of pain he could feel through the bond. Whatever was going on, he decided he better find her and quick. She might be hurting herself, but it was hurting him as well!

He rushed to where he knew she would be. But before he could get there more pain came through the bond along with a feeling of outrage. He turned the corner and knew he was in trouble. There was Nyna along with the young woman wrestling with each other. He was sure his amusment would be felt through the bond but he couldn't help it. He quickly rushed over to the two.

Nyna was on the bottom, obviously suprised by the attack. He knew he would have to inform her of his disappointment in her after all the training they had done. He wouldn't mean it, but it get to her. On second thought, he might hold off on that. He tried pulling the young lady off of Nyna, but she was holding on fiercely.

"Peace young lady! Peace!" He finally got them seperated. He pulled her to the side then reached down to help Nyna up. She just gave him a dirty look and ignored his hand. He shrugged and turned to the young lady.

"I thought they taught you better than that. She could have snapped you in two with the power! Light, what were you thinking??"

    Damian

    Bonded to... well.. you know

  7. See, this is why I hate trying to explain what I am thinking. No one listens and just says "We have tried that before and it didn't work." No, you haven't. I have been here for a long time... no you haven't. I am not saying have people play Rand and mat and perrin. I am saying, let the rpers actually determine the damn fate of the main rp. Instead of the incarns and the DL's having some kind of strangle hold over the main rp and saying "This is what we want done, so do it. DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THESE PLANS!", we say hey, go for it. If you want to interact with the dragon reborn or friends, be our guests. Just don't abuse the power. Let the DL's be there to try to set the goals of the Divisions. Let them come up with ideas on how they can affect the movement of the storyline, then do it! The Incarns can be there to say "whoah whoah whoah, this is getting a little too out of hand now." But otherwise, they stay out of the planning of the main rp for all intense purposes.

And I am insulted at the idea that I am only trying to push one divisions ideas and saying one division should control all. What I was pointing out was that SG is half of the main plot line equation... but we pretty much have zero ability to affect anything in the main plot... even with chosen! You, owen, should know that when I put forth ideas I put them forth for the good of all DM. I am not putting ideas forward for the good of one division.

And like ata said... get rid of the damn planning for so long. That is the whole point of letting the players determine the main rp. Lets get away from each div trying to protect their little whole in wall division and lets have them work together to let people HAVE FUN! Get rid of the damn buracracy!

    A fed up narg

  8. I understand that we have tried letting people play the main characters. But again, it is because we mandated exactly what they were going to do and exactly how they were going to do it. I know, I was a trolloc involved in the invasion of emmonds field back then. Even though I was attacking the town I was STILL barred from having any contact with the main chars.

Now, I wasn't saying just have people play the main chars. I am saying that we need to allow peoples normal chars interact with the main plot line. And we need to let go this desperate need to control everything down to the most smallest event. Let things happen as they happen and stop trying to control every small thing that happens in the Main rp.

I have talked to Owen many times in the past and he has been very open to new ideas. I think we need to start throwing more new ideas at him and get away from this whole 'Stay the course' thing! If we are talking about the future of the rp.. let us talk about it instead of just saying keep doing things as they have been done.

  9. Mat, I am not thinking only too narrowly with SG. First off, no, SG needs to be intimately involved with the main plotline. Do you really think a Dreadlord would just be let to run around the countryside with a few darkfriends and just kill stuff without any reasoning from the shadow what so ever? There has to be a reason for the shadow doing things. Yet your argument is that there DOESN'T have to be! Then why the shadow? Why not just have a div of brigands and lawless people and scrap the shadow all together. Because right now, by your argument, they shouldn't be doing any of the main plot line stuff. But this goes to a deeper problem, and one you have mentioned.

You want to know why the main plotline never moves? It is because no one has any reason to make it move! I remember, don't know if it says this now, but when I first started we had a page that said something to the effect that you were not special. Your character is just an ordinary person. You do not affect the world. Now lets think about what groups usually have the most players... WT? Warders? Maybe even BT? Anyone actually ever given a thought to why?? This is because those characters are special! They can have SOME effect on the world! There is a reason groups like the freelanders can never get a large member base. Who wants to play an inn keeper who is JUST an innkeeper? Also, I have a feeling why this is why no one wants to play just a basic DF.

Yes, there are those of you who think that the whole purpose of DM is to let you write stories with some random person just living their lives with DM just creating the setting for you. But my guess is that is the minority of people. People want to be involved, people want to play IN the world and actually affect it. I swear I have gone off on this many times, and is a reason I stopped rping at DM. My guess is it is the reason we lose new and old people alike all the time.

Anyways, YOU want to see the plotline move? Then you need to give a reason for people to want it to move! If they have nothing to do with it, cant effect it, aren't allowed to say hello to anyone who MIGHT be even slightly involved with it, and tell them THEY HAVE TO STAY ORDINARY PEOPLE.... then yes... it is going to stall like the many many times it has before.

So please don't tell me I am too narrowminded. I make the argument for SG because I am hoping I can get it to take SOMEWHERE! I have made this argument before, been ignored, watched DM die a little more... then made it again. I always get ignored by people who are happy with the status quo and can't get it in their heads that people might like something else!

    Narg

Why the hell am I posting this argument again?

  10. Ok... first question from the narg since he hasn't been around much in the past... where IS the current storyline? Second, no matter what we do with the main plotline, and this is going to be mainly from an SG perspective, but we NEED to let people interact someway with the main storyline. SG is a whole division linked to what happens in the main storyline. So, we need to let people play in it instead of just being innocent bystandards. Secondly, it can't take off too fast because, again, SG would need time to.... adjust to events.

And of course Sirakins wants post apocolyptic threads... I can just see it now...

Sira walked along holding the leash. Suddenly it went taught and she gave it a good tug. "Come Nargy... it is just a simple leash."

  11. I'm with The Don here. I would like to see us go earlier than the eye of the world because it gives the Shadow the ability to actually plan stuff! No reason to go after the last battle... might as well do AoL then. Men and women channeling happily... no more evil presence to actually create decent story lines. Yada yada yadda.

Anyways, resets never do a darn thing. People usually ignore the main story line anyways because they aren't allowed to interact in any way really. So, go before the dragon has proclaimed... And then let the shadow set some tempo. People CAN actually interact with us and that will allow them to help mold the main story line somewhat.

Also, I have a few ideas about how to do the DR and friends... but I am sure those will be shot down without a second though... so I will leave them for now.

Ehem... excuse narg... he was just getting a little excited.. thats all...

Come on folks... you know you want to. You remember smacking a sibling or two around and how good it made you feel. Now think about smacking a whole world around!

    El Nargberto

*does the Trolloc hat dance.... with the hat still on the poor saps head*

  13. What?? I thought we weren't giving out Nargyback rides till they had signed on the dotted line and given over their souls?? Then narg can eat the children! Oh, did I say that out loud?

Look folks, it is simple... sooner or later you will be under our dominion. Look at the age of legends. You light fools had to pull something extremely stupid off to slow us down... and even then you paid for it with the breaking. Do you really think you can stop us now?

Thats it.. you know you want to come to the dark side!

Join now and get a free sig line!

"I joined SG and all I got was this stupid sentence.... and eternal life!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAA!!!!"

    Supplies are limited... act now!

  14. Hello, my name is Nargbert. *everyone stares* What? Never seen a trolloc before?? *stares back* HA! YOU BLINKED! Hmmm.. and I guess you might NOT have seen a trolloc before... fine.. I understand... its ok... YOU! YEAH YOU! STOP TRYING TO PLUG YOUR NOSE! NARG NOT SMELL THAT BAD!

Ahem... where was I? Oh yes... I am the great, the powerful.... the cute.. The Narg! I lead a small band of trollocs... ok, only small if you consider a few hundred thousand trollocs small. I am here because... well.. truthfully I am hungry and thought that one or two of you lightfools might make a nice snack.

But, my boss says I am here to try and pull a few of you lightfools to our side. As the Great and Powerful Don has mentioned... he has his little side project, asassins. Yes, they sneak around, yes they kill alot, and yes they are just all around scary. Sounds like fun.. however, they wont let trollocs be assassins. So, you can have fun with it... narg can't.

Instead, Narg needs trollocs! Sooo... on to what being a trolloc means!

-As a kid, did you hate baths?

-Have you ever thought "I wonder what would happen if I just stepped on that turkey?" Me Too!

-Does random violence appeal to you?

-Have you watched monkies fling their poo and felt jealous?

-Have you felt that desire to break free of all the restraints that the rest of these wanna be divs put on you and your chars?

If you said yes to any but the last question... please seek professional help. If you did answer yes to the last one... please seek out the Nargbert. Stop by the SG boards.. Say hello... say "I WANT TO BE A TROLLOC!" Trust me... your rps will never be the same.

Oh yes... we will be joining up with the black hand... to create havoc!

Also a big, ugly trolloc... but don't tell anyone

  15. Damian kneeled and the room was quiet for what seemed like hours, though it was only moments. Suddenly his head felt weird. Something had settled over him, though he knew not what. He realized he suddenly felt stronger, as if someone had provided the stamina of two people. If he could have stared in wonder at himself he would have. Yet all this disappeared with the realization of something else.

His eyes popped open and started at Nynaeve. Could those thoughts be what he thought they were? He could not tell if they were his own or not, but they definately mirrored what he was feeling. They didn't seem to belong to him though. He kept staring and realized the thoughts were hers. He poured over them in amazement. He tried to find out everything she was thinking. That was when he came across the one he was looking for.

"So.... Nynaeve Sedai.... you do love me." He rose from his kneeling position, soon staring down at her. He pulled her to him and gave her a kiss. Then he gave her another.

"It is done. Now, in the name of understanding everything about our new... connection.. I say we head up stairs and find out just how much can pass between us. And let me tell you... I feel like I could go for days!"
