  1. The thing is, good or bad, this may be the novels ONLY chance at getting itself known by an audience outside the readership. Otherwise we may be looking at 30 years plus before it will be looked at again. That was how long it took the LOTR to be the massive hit it was. Between the animated movie in the 70s and the movies we all know and mostly love.

Otherwise it will end up another Star Trek or forgotten completely.

  2. The bickering between the women seems to be disagreements on how to keep the world going and not wanting to trust anyone that had another opinion that they know might work and sway future situations to the other woman's influence. As opposed to doing it how a man would. By killing them. Or trusting them implicitly.

The Breaking memory sems to effect every form of society, from the Are Sedai when men show abilities, the Women's Circle vs the Village Council, and the Wise Ones when dealing with Chiefs, and even family homes. In most of these cases where authority of major groups are involved, almost all show close to outright hostility between them. Only the Wise Ones out of these acknowledge that the men's views are valid. The rest oppose absolutely.

Only the Ogier society are untouched by this issue.

I think it is quite a fascinating world to read.

  3. can someone second? Eldrick you are the only self claimed long time fan as I said an alias or bs

I second the long time fan. I am a long time fan myself and I love the last three books, especially when you finish AMOL and read TEOTW immediately. The foreshsdowing and quotes of the prophecies litteraly cover the last book. Brilliant foreshadowing in my opinion

  4. Yes. Ituralde is the Greatest of the Five. Even Niall acknowledged that fact, while feeling he could best the other four. Ituralde, he felt would push his abilities to the utmost. It is also interesting that RJ was thinking of a fifth battle front in the Last Battle before changing his mind.

  5. I am not reading any novels right now, I am reading comics more. I have finished the Mistborn trilogy and read the two Words of Radiance books. I am also on The Return of The King since the LOTR is in one book for me. Plus I am a little way into listening to the Great Hunt in audio form.

  6. The Seanchan actually do give a flavour to the series. I also think that the Seanchan will be dealt with in the fourth age. They may be important in dealing with Shara. May be even the key to dealing with them. But without Mat and Tuon's adventures, we may never kbow how this plays out.

  7. Gitara's Foretelling was in a moment that would have been dangerous to have even a day's warning. The BA would have had time to find the baby, especially if Isahmael was active at this time and directing them. Nicola's Foretelling was a different case; it literally described what happened in the Pit of Doom after the Last Battle. The line " the future teeters on the edge of a blade" is a direct reference to Moridin holding Callandor, though we did not know it at the time.
