1. Basic Information

    Handle : Shiva

Full names of WT characters: All my old characters fall under the handle Celes and are dead.

    Character Information

Name (first and last): Fiona Ashlyn

State whether this is a Traditional or a Salidar character: Traditional

    Age (Traditional = 14-19 / Salidar = 20-70): 14

    Nationality: Cairhien

    Description

Hair: Deep brown long hair with a slight curl, usually kept together in a braid or a bun.

    Eyes: Deep brown

    Skin: Milky pale

    Height:5 ft 7

Voice:she speaks soft, mumbling a bit and has a low pitched voice

Other:she has a scar down her left arm, from when she fell of a horse as a child, it’s quite large and distinctive

Personality: Fiona was born lucky some said, the storms outside the house were raging wild and rain washed down the small windows of her mother’s room as she gave birth to a tiny baby who did not cry right away. It was not until the midwife spanked her buttocks a few times that Fiona decided it was ok to show the world she was indeed alive. Her cries out bellowed the storms outside, telling the neighbors around that a new girl was born. This stubborn way of looking at the world around her never changed much for Fiona.

Fiona likes to be the one in control, she likes to get her way and knows many ways to get what she wants. Her eyes are like pits of fire when she’s angry and she can throw a fit at something as little as the kitchen running out of her favorite honey pies. She is an intelligent young woman, who cannot study for long as her mind runs off absently with her. Being homeschooled by her father and older sisters, she has quite a broad education but it was not an easy task to teach Fiona Ashlyn.

However, when she sets her mind to it, she can learn and can also be quite helpful and sweet. Her father often shook her about as a child, but has by now almost given up on trying teaching his daughter to behave like a proper lady. Her sisters try their best and often wish she would grow up faster so she could be married off. Fiona likes the boys plenty to play with in the streets or to misbehave and pull pranks on, but getting ready for a family of her own is nowhere near on her mind.

    Optional

Special Skills: she can throw a great temper tantrum

Weaknesses: Knowledge Weakness: she is easly distracted and therefore has not a great long term concentration

Physical Weakness: she is slender but not very muscular

Personality weakness: her passion and stubbornness can cause her to blindsight her knowledge and make her uncareful at times.

    History

Fiona was born as the third child from a noble clerk, Roderick Ashlyn and his wife Beatrice who died in child birth when Fiona was two, delivering the still born only brother she would ever have. Her two older sisters took up to caring for Fiona as her father worked as a city clerk. They had a nice home, always food on the table and clothes to wear. Her eldest sister Erina was married of at a young age of 15 to the son of the nobleman her father worked for. She was fortunate, for she fell in love with the man and he took good care of her and promised to do so for her family.

Her second sister, Constance was less fortunate, having been burnt badly in a bath tub that was too hot and left unguarded by a servant or a parent at the age of 5, this young woman had scars over her face, arms and upper body that made most men look away. Constance did not mind, she was a bookworm who enjoyed studying economics and writing. At the age of 16 she worked alongside her father and kept an eye on Fiona, then 14.

Upon her 18th birthday, Erina came home to her father and sisters to tell them she was expecting a child. Roderick Ashlyn was happy for his daughter, who had now secured her position with the family she married into. This would help him for his pension as well, he was overjoyed at this security for himself and his family as he had not expected his other two daughters to do quite as well and decided a feast was in order to celebrate this occasion.

Four weeks later, the feast was planned and Erina and her husband Trendor were the middle of attention, wine, food and a bard made the feast a great one. Erina took to herself halfway through the evening though, Constance did not notice as she was too busy listening to the bard’s tale of lands far away, but Fiona went looking for her sister. She finally found her, in the back of the kitchen lying on the floor unconscious. Fiona screamed for help, but none came and then ran out into the street in an attempt to find someone, a midwife perhaps. It was night, just after suppertime for most and the streets were as empty as the inns were full.

A few streets down from the house, Fiona reached an inn she dared to enter. She snuck in and scoured the place to find someone who could help. Fiona had no idea who she was looking for. However, her desperation awakened something inside her that told her to go for a table by the wall where a woman sat all alone, staring into a bowl of soup apparently. A man came up from behind the table as soon as Fiona approached, he looked stern and gave a small grunt as the girl ran up to the woman at the table. Fiona was taken aback, then thought of her sister and curtsied deep and started rambling off, “Please, I believe you are Aes Sedai and you can help my sister, Erina, she is with child and unconscious. I’m not sure how, but please can you help?”

The woman looked up, her eyes locked with Fiona’s and nodded, without a word she followed the girl outside. They were followed closely by the man who had grunted earlier but who now also remained silent. Fiona was too afraid for her sister to worry if this was the right thing to do. She had no idea who she had just asked, or why. But her gut instinct told her this was the right thing to do. Her sister needed her. She showed them to the back of the house where they could easily enter the kitchen where Erina still lay, alone and with her chest barely rising and falling. “Is she still breathing?” Fiona called out and ran towards the still body of her sister. The woman she had brought sank to her knees, felt Erina’s pulse and then asked the man, whose name was apparently Jonathan to bring her boiled water and a blanket.

Fiona helped by finding some blankets when her father appeared in the door opening of the kitchen. “What is going on here?” His eyes shot from Fiona to Erina to the woman tending to his daughter. Then he bowed and spoke in more silent tones, “My apologies Aes Sedai, I had not realized,” the woman did not look up and kept working on Erina. Fiona was not sure what happened, but finally the servants were ordered to bring Erina to her bedroom. Handing her father a vile with some sort of dark brown liquid, the Aes Sedai said: “Feed her this for the new three days, she will be fine.” Roderick Ashlyn replied “Forgive me, but will my daughter be able to keep the baby?” The Aes Sedai nodded, “I see it is important to you that she does, her health is most important to me. But yes, they will both recover. I am glad your daughter was so quick to find me,” Fiona’s cheeks went crimson with pride, but she soon bowed her head again.

“How can I repay you for your services, Aes Sedai,” Roderick Ashlyn asked. “Your daughter can do some scribing for me, she was the one who found me, I have some papers than need a clean hand,” her father nodded. “Of course, although my daughter Constance is more suited for such a task,” but the Aes Sedai merely stared at him in reply. “This young woman will do just fine. She can come and meet me tomorrow at noon at the inn where she found me,” with that the Aes Sedai and the man who followed her left. Roderick told his daughter to go to the inn the next day and do exactly as the Aes Sedai said, “We owe so much to her, you had better not do anything to anger her Fiona, or you will see me angered so much worse.” With that he went back to the party, confident that all would turn out well.

The next day, Fiona presented herself before the Aes Sedai, who gave her name Liandra Sedai of the Yellow Ajah. “You were in luck child, I was actually not planning to be in Cairhien these days and I’m not even sure how you found me. But we will deal with that later, for now I want you to sit here at this table and write in your best hand writing. Fiona nodded and worked for four hours on three papers, before the Aes Sedai was content. “I am still in the city tomorrow, you will come here again early in the morning.” Fiona wanted to disagree but remembered her father’s words. “Yes, Aes Sedai,” she said and left to return again the next morning, ready for more writing. However, the Aes Sedai had another plan for the girl it seemed. There were no papers and quills at the table this time, but a small box with a jewel lying on top of it. Fiona studied it when the Aes Sedai told her she would be tested.

Fiona’s father did not take well to the news that his daughter would pay more than some writing work for the Aes Sedai, as he saw it, having his youngest be taken to the White Tower was a price too high to pay. But after an hour of talking between him and Liandra Sedai, he came out and told Fiona to pack a small bag as she was leaving with the Aes Sedai and her warder. Fiona thought about running away just then, but she knew this was the debt for her sister’s health and even though she was scared of what was to come for her, Fiona decided to do the right thing and listened to her father. “I will be back soon father, they will see that I am not like them after all and I will come back here with you.” He nodded, smiled and she wondered if she could see tears glistening in his eyes. “Just behave and listen to the Aes Sedai my child,” he said and kissed her on the forehead as goodbye. And so it was that Fiona Ashlyn travelled to the White Tower to enroll as a novice.

She spent most of her time with her great aunt who had a herbal shop and garden where she help mix medicines, soaps, fragrances and spices for her aunt's shop.

At the age of 8, her mother and great aunt started to teach her the art of being a Domani woman, including teaching her the art of seduction Kaylynn never felt comfortable with these teaching because she was so self – conscious of her appearance. She was not fat, as her brothers like to tell her, but she wasn't skinny like her mother and her aunt either.

Kaylynn enjoyed playing and tagging along with her older brothers who treated her like a boy rather than a girl. She never backed down from any argument with them and usually won every one. Her brothers and she were inseparable, whether they were running through her aunt's gardens, riding horseback through the countryside or playing around the estate.

When Kaylynn was 14, she lost her eldest brother to the war outbreak over Almoth Plain. She was heartbroken with the loss and feared for the lives of the last two remaining brothers. Her two remaining brother came home for a short while, in which time Kaylynn tried to talk them out of being in the guard but they felt it was their duty being sons of a lesser lord.

At about this time two ladies showed up in town, dressed in lovely green out-lander clothing, with 4 men in their party. Over the next couple weeks, one of the ladies took an interest in her brothers and asked if they would be interested in going to the White Tower for training. Kaylynn found out through her brothers that they were Aes Sedai and thought they would be good candidates for the Warders training available for them at the Tar Valon.

One day she spotted these two ladies outside her aunt's shop where she was mixing some herbs. She ran out of the shop to see if the Aes Sedai would take her to Tar Valon. She explained how she learned from her brothers that they were Aes Sedai and had asked her two brothers to go for training. The Aes Sedai went back into her aunt's shop with her to perform the jewel test to see if should be able to channel or maybe go to Tar Valon to train to be a Warder. She was astonished when she was able to make the green jewel flicker and was told she had the ability to learn to channel.

The Aes Sedai spoke to her parents and she was then aboard an outgoing vessel to Tar Valon with a sealed document from the Aes Sedai with her. It was a long trip aboard the cargo vessel to Tar Valon but when she arrived she was awed by the beauty of the city. She knew that she was where she was supposed to be.

    Eyes: Light Blue

    Skin: Fair

    Height: 5”4

    Optional:

Special Skills: Skilled with knives and is very flexible, using this in her hand to hand fighting skills.

Knowledge Weakness: She’s not well educated and does poorly in Math and Philosophy

    Physical Weakness: Cannot swim

Personality Weakness: Pride, over confidence and stubbornness.

Personality: Aishra is proud and stubborn. She can be head strong at times and passionate. She is very goal oriented, looking for ways to advance her own desires and uses and/or manipulates anyone she can. She is sneaky and clever, reading between the lines and seeing the hidden meaning in things. She does become very protective of the people she cares for, few as those people may be.

Bio: Aishra was the third child born in a family of four children. She was born in a small village in Andor that bordered Cairhien. Her mother was the apprentice to the village wisdom and her father was a fairly decent blacksmith. When Aishra was four years old a deadly illness struck her little village. At first, the village wisdom and Aishra’s mother, Shalinda, were able to contain the illness, but when the Wisdom died from the disease the village quickly deteriorated, killing nearly everyone including her father and her two older siblings. Fleeing the sickness, Shalinda took what savings she had and fled with Aishra and her baby brother to Caemlyn to start a new life.

In Caemlyn the family found refuge with an herb healer, who agreed to let Shalinda and the children live in her house and work in her shop as compensation. With her mother either working or taking care of Erid, her baby brother, Aishra was left to her own devices. She became a street kid, a thief, stealing what she needed to survive or whatever else was in her grasp. As she grew older Aishra became a better thief, clever and swift. She developed her own fighting style by fighting other street kids, and she quickly learned her way around a knife. She was rarely caught and when she was she could sometimes talk her way out of trouble. Other times she was smacked around by the shop owner or vender. Over time Aishra became over confident in her abilities, and it was this over confidence that landed her in the White Tower.

When she was fifteen Aishra encountered two finely dressed women sitting on a fountain in the Outer City, fully submerged in their conversation. Focusing on their purses and not their faces, Aishra thought it a fine opportunity to steal what she assumed would be a few gold coins. She approached the two women silently, cut the thin rope of one of the purses, grabbed the purse, turned to run and found that she could not move. She was levitated into the air and slowly turned to face the two women who were Aes Sedai. They punished her in the middle of the street, but when they were finished the elder of the two Aes Sedai suddenly produced a small jewel and asked Aishra to look into it. Time seemed to be slip away and what seemed like hours to Aishra actually passed in a few seconds. Aishra was informed that she could learn to channel if she agreed to accompany them to the White Tower in Tar Valon and enrol as a Novice. Aishra agreed to this and within a few days Aishra was on her way to become a novice at the White Tower.

    Character info

    Name: Sagneia Kathen

    Traditional novice

    Age:14

    Country: Tarabon

    Appearance

    Hair: reddish brown

    Eyes: grayish brown

    Skin: pale-ish

    Height: 1.5 meter

Voice: neither high or low but sort of controlled voice, good singer

    Other: skinny

    Optional

    Skills: awesome singer

    Knowledge weakness: bad with geography

Physical weakness:legs are just like two sticks

Personality weakness: flatters those that are above her, and is mean-ish to those she thinks are below her. Sometimes annoying.

    Personality

Sagneia may seem balanced to those who don't know her but she just explodes if someone says something bad of her. She is very proud and has always friends around her. As she manages to forget her 'hierarchy' she can be quit nice and helpful and it's easy to get her laugh. Usually she behaves like a princess though, because she knows everyone admires her voice anyways.

    history

Until she was taken to the Tower, Sagneia knew no life outside Tarabon. She had barely been

outside Tanchico, and even that was just once. Her family was neither rich or poor, her father

kept sold textiles in his own shop, but they got no other sources of money. What Sagneia's

father did have, was good relations. He had sold fabrics in his own shop. Even though the

Kathen family didn't have that much money, most of the fabrics were a good quality, and a few

even fine enough for a lord or a lady to wear.

As Sagneia woke up in the morning she would turn four, she saw her father sitting on the

corner of her bed just like he had waited her to wake up. His tired and sad face didn't look

like that, though. Biting his lip he told her daughter quietly that her beloved mother had died

during last night. This was very odd as she hadn't been ill and the body was never shown to

little Sagneia but as a child does, she believed every word her father said her. The funeral was

very small, just Sagneia, her father, aunt and uncle. Everyone looked very stern.

Eight years later as Sagneia had come up with the idea to do a surprise visit to her aunt's and

uncle's place, she finally got to know the truth about her mother. This was a pure accident,

the young girl was just standing in front of the door just about to knock, as she heard the aunt

shouting to the uncle. There was nothing unusual there, they often fought with each other,

but this time Sagneia heard them mention the name Maralle, her mother. So she continued

    listening.

It all was very exiting, her heart thumped loudly, but the outraged voices of her aunt and

uncle inside the house were even louder. "I should have known this would happen! It seems

to be in the family, doesn't it? Well, Maralle had at least the spirit to do it. You just can't decide

what to do!" Sagneia's uncle almost screamed.

"My sister has nothing to do with this! Her desicion was her own and even I was shocked from

it, as you remember! And how can you even think I would do the same?" Aunt replied and

apparently threw something on the wall. It sounded like a vase.

"Oh, I know perfectly well about you and that other one! And Maralle? Hmph! If you didn't

remember the situation was just like this! Just running away with another man! But I repeat:

she had the spirit to actually do that instead of just planning it. She even told her husband

about it! You could do it too so I can already search another wife for me!" The uncle shouted.

Sagneia had heard it all and understood very well. She never told her father she had knew

about it. But he looked like he knew what she was thinking. She just buried the bitter feeling

    inside.

In her childhood she had always four to five friends but they changed all the time. Sagneia

grew tired to the old ones within months and got easily new friends. She was also a very

proud girl because of her amazing voice and everybody wanted to hear her sing. This made

her even more proud and she started to think pretty much nobody was equal to her. With

some kids, expecially with the younger ones, she just placed herself above them and didn't

care of them. With those who she thought were above her, she flattered and was the adorable

little child. She was pretty annoying, that she had heard from many kids in Tanchico, but

didn't care. They were below her. She herself didn't know what she did, though. She still does

that and still doesn't know what she's doing.

Some boys of the city had a special nickname for her: Ish. Sometimes even "Dish" That was

because they had figured that everything in her was something-ish. The hair was reddish

brown, the eyes grayish brown, the skin pale-ish... She wasn't purely anything. She was nice

but then she wasn't nice. She was very balanced but then she had a terrible temper.

As Sagneia was fourteen, came a day that raised her pride to the heavens. An Aes Sedai with

a strict-looking Warder stepped inside her father's shop. Hidden in the shadows of the shop

corner, Sagneia was nearer of an Aes Sedai than she had ever been in her entire life before

this. The reason of them coming was just ordinary; they needed clothes made from a fabric

neither too fine or too rough. And a shopkeeper that would keep quiet.

However, as the Aes Sedai saw Sagneia hidden in the corner. That gave Sagneia the strength to

ask wether she could channel. The look of the Aes Sedai was so calm that Sagneia never knew

why she the Aes Sedai had actually done the jewel test for her. As always, the reasons of the

Aes Sedai were completely hidden. If she had known that the purpose of the Aes Sedai being

in Tarabon was just testing the girls, Sagneia would have lost a bit of her pride.

But yes, she could learn to channel. She would be weak, though. She could make it all up to

shawl, but she would be one of the weakest Aes Sedai, if not the very weakest. She didn't care

of that, though. Now there was a new possibility, a new dream, something to achieve. And she

would do that. No price would be to high.t
