This is…..certainly an opinion. The problem is that it rests in the idea that all book storylines are vital to the overall narrative and that’s simply not true. Conversely, other storylines can and should be expanded when it’s in service to the narrative. You can disagree with the show runner’s choices on that front, but pretending it’s wholly without justification is a bit myopic.
Sorry if I missed this somewhere else, but is anyone talking about the vision/hallucination Rand had of a black-clad figure in the ridge right before talking to Moiraine? Haven’t seen much mentioned and it’s driving me crazy!
I'm 99% sure they did that closeup of her eyes to show us that she had the saa in them.
Also, I don't know if they were imagining things, but someone on FB mentioned seeing some of the dark figures (the ones that Logain saw) loitering around Rand. Were eyes deceiving or did anyone else see that?
Eh, Ishy had been partially sealed/free in the books for quite a while, right? Also, there is a 0% chance that those are swords. It's shocking that anyone would get that from the scene. The blades look like spear blades and you can see the long handles.
Demandred literally used a physical sword in the last battle and Rand got the wound in his side from a staff wielded by one of the Forsaken in the books. That's levels of magnitude below what you're complaining about.
I mean, not here to argue the choreography since I'm no expert and it looked fine to me. Just pointing out that they're pretty clearly spears and there is really no reasonable argument that the team doing the show would make them swords.
