Yeah, I had to pause the scene just before 'cause my kid burst into the room with a random question, so I miss about a minute of Episode 1, and exactly as you experienced, pausing just picked up to current streaming moment.

Aye, that's why I think they're sort of merging the two ideas together. Bubbles + Dreamshards + TAR Nightmares + Waygates. Kind of just merging all of those concepts into one big ball, and making it a bit more targeting rather than random. The one thing I hope they don't do in this show, is forget that the Dark One exists. Yeah, the Forsaken are here, doing all this stuff, and there here being all "LOL, I'm evil"... but I hope they just don't forget about this existential threat to existence that's ever present. That they don't make the rotting food, something the Black Ajah / Forsaken does. You know?

In the Dragon Reborn, that entire sequence is like one giant fever dream of events with Rand chasing Ishamael through waygates without knowing what he was doing, or where / how he was doing it. It was never really explained where or how he was going to the places he was going, and Dreamshards are very much related to TAR. They're effectively pocket dimensions. Here's a "quote" pulled from the wot wikia talking about some of the things Moridin (aka ishy) does with them. So why jump to random places in TAR and create these effects, when he has access to all these Dreamshards that he can just... Jump into? As far as how that works in the show? I think they're taking the idea of "bubbles of evil" which are already eerily similar to nightmares in TAR, combining it with Dreamshards, merging them, and allowing these to cross into reality via waygates / true power. Because "plot" reasons. 100% this. If they keep the idea that the BA works in different cells (I forget the words they actually use), then their other sisters could further the discord in the tower... Which is precisely what they did... But also, that escape got someone severely punished. Did we read the same books? Aes Sedai are Arrogant. The 3rd oath prevents her from harming the other sisters in the hall that aren't attempting to harm her. She cannot do this without breaking the 3rd oath. The 3 oaths do not care about this. Maybe you need to take a breather? Why do you care so much what others think about the show? Why do others have to hate it to make you happy?

We find out later in the series that Ishamael specialized in creating Dreamshards. Which is why Rand would jump from a world of Lava... to a world of Water...

Also, I feel it needs to be said, because I feel it should be obvious. The Black Ajah didn't execute every single person in the hall, because they want them alive. They want to install Elaida as the new Amyrlin, and the ultimate plan is to forcably convert as many Aes Sedai, Accepted, and Novices to the Shadow as possible.... Just like Taim did in the Black Tower. If they just executed the entire power structure, they're just killing the most powerful Aes Sedai in the tower. They want to turn them to the shadow.

/ Dreamshards? E.g. remember when Rand was facing off against Ishamael inside the Stone of Tear? All those weird other worldy things he kept throwing at Rand? Ishamael was jumping in and out of Dreamshards in an attempt to Kill Rand. "The Axe", "the Mirror", and "the Playing cards", are "Bubbles of Evil" in the book, similar with Nynaeve encountering a Gray Man (minus the stabbing part). These are all definitely nods towards the books. So we may not get random Bubbles of Evil through out the series, but a more targeted version in the form of Dreamshards.

Oh, I wasn't talking about anything to do with the ship. Just my musing that Rand genetically changed Bela in Book 1 in addition to "healing" her stamina so she could keep running & Keep up with the other horses. I believe it was constantly mentioned through out the series that she was fast for a farm horse of her stature.

Well, we'll definitely find out for sure today, lol. I know there were definitely questions about whether it was TV or not as some of the architecture in the background didn't seem to sync up with what we've seen in the past, and that first clip we saw didn't show the tower in the background. I haven't seen the new Galad x Gawyn clip. We'll also find out today if that clip is in episode 1, or another episode.

I still maintain that Rand didn't just "wash Bela's fatigue away", but changed her genetics, allowing her to keep up with the other horses that she had absolutely no right to. One way to look at it... No one doubts that she'd have the stamina to keep up with these other horses over long distances, but to run as fast as these other horses? That's like seeing a Dachshund run alongside a Greyhound at full speed...

Are they actually in Tar Valon? Or did they just say they spent a month in a Boat and deciding where to go? They could have sailed from Falme to Tanchico. Tanchico gives them a direct route to Tear, and river routes that let them get to Baerlon to split up to the Two Rivers, Tar Valon, and The Wastes. If they sailed all the way to Illian, they'd have an even better direct route to Tear, White Bridge/Tar Valon, and Baerlon, the Wastes, and for Mat to back track to Tanchico for some awful reason. lol

We've made it possible for to navigate directly to your club from the Forums, but also allow you to see the latest club posts while in the forums! 3) Seeing Forum Topics while in Clubs. While you're in the club section, you can now see Forum Topics. This is to help Speaking of club view. If you click the "Sort By" button, you can change the order in which the clubs are listed. If you click the button that says filter, you can shorten the list of clubs so you only see the one's you've joined! 4) Mobile - Forums Previously, if you clicked on Forums while on mobile, it wouldn't actually let you navigate to the forums! Now you can. 5) Reactions Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit have popularized "Likes", and "Reactions". Honestly? It's the lowest effort way possible to say "I liked what you said" without actually having to commit to writing a post. Use this new function wisely.
