A WHEEL OF TIME COMMUNITY

TarValon.net hosts Charity Drive with WoT prizes

Jason Denzel

TarValon.net is hosting The Feast of Lights, a charity drive benefitting breast cancer research. Here's what they told us about it:

This year's Feast of Lights drive, hosted by TarValon.Net, Inc., is being held for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, in memory of Tricia Erickson (Padra Sedai), who passed away this summer. The drive is open to all Wheel of Time fans, and every donor will be entered into a raffle to win some amazing Wheel of Time prizes, including a leather-bound copy of Towers of Midnight signed by Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson.

This drive is being run from December 5 - January 5. Information on the drive, including a full list of prizes and how to donate, is available here.

Please consider donating for this worthy cause, and help us demonstrate how the Wheel of Time community can make a positive difference in the world.

Wow.. Seeing this drive dedicated in memory to a WoT fan that passed away only a year or so before the completion of the series fills me with sadness and nostalgia.. Glad cats are putting their influence and resources to charitable use.

It sure is nice to hear about a charity drive. After all this is the time of year to be giving! After reading TOM I sure am looking forward to hearing some news about AMOL! Wishing a happy holiday to everyone!

I lost my mother in late October to Breast Cancer. This was the woman, that in 1992, grounded me to my room with The Eye of the World. She said, "Don't come out until you are finished with it!" I looked at the 814 page book in dismay and went to my room. An hour and a half and three chapters later, I burst from my room yelling, "What ARE they, Mom?" I then received my very first RAFO. We went all the way through The Gathering Storm together.

So here I sit, 18 years and a Snake and Wheel tattoo later, impatient for the day that I can pass The Wheel of Time down to my now 2yr old son. I love how our fan community can show so much love and kindness to those who are in need, especially in honor of those that are/were fans.

Blessings this holiday season.
