Winter's Heart Audiobook Giveaway!

Jason Denzel

Dragonmount is excited to partner with Macmillan Audio to celebrate the release of Winter's Heart on audiobook. Now if that sounds strange to you, there's a good reason. After years of being out of print, the physical CD edition of Winter's Heart --Book 9 of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series--can now be found wherever books are sold. Macmillan Audio is honored to complete the WoT series on audio with this re-release of fan favorite, read by series' narrators Michael Kramer and Kate Reading.

To help celebrate this, check out our very first Wheel of Time video news segment, hosted by Kristen Nedopak:

To celebrate all this new stuff, we're partnering with Macmillan Audio to give away some fun prizes. Our grand prize is a copy of Winter's Heart on audio CD, along with a copy of Towers of Midnight on audio CD and signed by Brandon Sanderson, Harriet McDougal and Michael Kramer. Secondary winners will receive copies of Winter's Heart on audio CD.

To enter, reply to this post with your favorite scene from Winter's Heart. The contest ends at 11:59 PM (U.S. Pacific time) on Tuesday, March 15th. This contest is open only to residents of the United States and Canada. (Sorry, folks.) One entry per person, please. We'll draw the winders from a random selection.

Be sure to visit Macmillan's Facebook page, where they have a dedicated Wheel of Time section.

From the start to the finish i loved the entire book but the scene where Mat finds out what we've known for awile was great! Mat never lost his wits or sharp tounge till faced with a wife. he faced down trollics, fades, and even gholums but a tiny woman he has to marry that scares him.

The Cleansing, although the Mat and Birgette tavern scene is classic too!

I would have to say... the Mat and Brigette scene is the best. Mat is by far the best character in my opinion so it was amazing watching those two drink together.

I love the bonding scene. All the girls finally trust each other, Avi finally trusts Rand. It's very awesome.

I like the Cleansing as much as the next guy, but I particularly enjoyed the scene where Rand comes clean about his feelings for his three women. I have this image in my head (can't remember if it's described this way or not) of Nynaeve standing there with her mouth opening and closing like a fish - unable to say anything. Great scene.

For me as epic and awesome as The Clensing was it felt a little rushed since it was at the end of the book. One of my favorite parts is when Mat first escapes the palace and first meets Tuon. I was actually giggling like a school girl because I knew that his tail was going to be tied in all kinds of knots.

Just to be different, I am going to go with Elayne and Egwene visiting edmond's Field in Tel'aran'rhiod. It is a nice reminder of how little our main character know about what they are all up to.

Well, it may seem weird, because I'm not sure how much anyone else liked it, but my favorite scene from Winter's Heart was the Cleansing. It was so huge, and almost every character, good or bad, got involved, or at least took notice of it.

So yeah. Maybe it's just me, but that's my pick.

it would have to be the cleansing, if not the scene with Mat and Tuon. The romantic in me is thrilled to see Mat and Tuon.

My favorite is right after the Girls bond Rand. He and Elayne get some "alone time" and Birgette get so upset she is ready to kill her. Then Min and Avi intercept her and they all go get drunk together.

Probably the Cleansing, or Rand telling Lan "When the sun turns green!"

I'll say that my favorite is when Elayne, Min, and Aviendha bond Rand. I liked the Cleansing, too, but the bonding scene was very nice.

My favorite is...all of Chapter 35 with the Cleansing. It is an awesome chapter :)

Although it says to only pick one favorite...that is kind of hard so second favorite: when the girls get to (finally) bond Rand <3

Matt's escape is about even with the cleansing in my book. I always wish for more Matt viewpoints.

hmmm...lots of great small scenes in this. But I'll go with Rand admitting he loves the three - and Nynaeve's reaction to it.

There are tons of great scenes I love from Winter's Heart, a lot of which have already been mentioned. Definitely the cleansing as well as the bonding between Min, Aviendha, Elayne, and Rand. That has to be amazing to feel someones love for you like that. And Mat is my favorite character, so definitely his interactions with Tuon in this book. Awesome.

Has to be the cleansing. Waited for years to see it! Such a great feeling...

My favorite scene was actually in the prologue, when Elayne and Avi became first-sisters. All of their answers about each other and then really just the whole process always stuck out in my mind as the most well-written scene in this book.

I would have to say that Chapter 35 is my favorite with the culmination of the cleansing of saidin.
