Nomi, it seems you have experience with Rack, which is useful. Also, can i conclude that you will not oppose his lynch, just ask for a bit more time?

I have no prior experience with Rack. I'm basing all this on this thread and the signup sheet and his fellow forumgoer's opinions.

Open notebook, here's where I am at.

 

Day one I'm bumping into walls over and over and so are a lot of players. The most common thing is to ask some questions, poke some suspects, vote some people, and settle onto someone you want to see flip today and that's all in a first-day's work.

 

I don't know about catching scumbags this quickly, I do try. Short of that I want to find townies and make them not dead. As of right now I have a list of people I don't want to make dead, and some question marks, and a guy I'd looooooove to be correct about, but, that's its own bias.

 

If I bump into a Dice wall and it were suddenly true or quite possible to me that he's a townie, I do a lot like what Rack did with Zander, I have lingering concerns but I unvote.

 

And when I unvote I don't have a target in mind unless I've had several real suspects at one time, but Dice was far and away scummier to me than the rest of the thread. I could go up the line of folks with question marks on them willy-nilly or I can do another option.

 

Rack or myself were realistically next in line. I know I'm town, don't know about Rack and have question marks on him.

 

There's not a lot about Rack in the thread, but that little moment I created for him to reveal whatever was going through his head was a tiny window to peer into. I didn't see a scumbag there.

 

If you take dice off the table, and rack off the table....

 

That's where my thinking ends. That's why I asked for your input and the input of everyone around at this time.

 

If you could do Day One all over again, what are one or two names you'd begin with as a vote?

That would include Hallia, for one. Could be biased, but i didn't like her posts so far this game. Something bugs me there, and i think BFG feels it too. 

 

Another would be Sooh. Her play seems diffirent than other games. Agressively defense this early in the game, it seems unnecessary... but it happened.

This is where my mind went:

 

I thought about Pralaya, because I remember seeing this person's posts in the game and I don't remember anything about them.

 

Somehow I got it into my head that they posted a lot more this round, and had said nothing that stuck out at me.

 

I was even typing up a post where I went "and he's posted more than the bottom posters but revealed next to nothing" off the top of my head, and realized my memory is pretty poor, so I looked and no, Pralaya is the very bottom.

 

And then I saw he does this D1 and D2 for reasons I can identify with.

 

Then I scrambled over to BFG because why not, I almost feel like BFG posting now when the round is decided is just sort of padding.

 

You know, for all intents and purposes, the round is decided. I would be surprised if even my active discussion about moving it in any other direction would have any effect other than for me to be lynched as the alternative to Rack.

 

This is the single safest part of the round for scums to post in, and BFG could simply be padding her D1 contributions.

 

It's so weak, so flimsy. BFG was one of the people who noted the same thing I noted in my defense of myself, if I recall, about the nature of humanity, we contradict ourselves, etc.

 

That was also a subtle indicator that BFG is either highly reasonable and eminently wonderful, or, knows I'm town.

 

So now I'm at BFG.

 

And I'm trying to determine if that's even reasonable. Because it's pretty weaksauce. I don't know if I buy it.

They're a shot in the dark. But I would be willing to take that shot.

 

I have both in my lean town pool. But they're not in my untouchable town pool.

 

My day ones are seriously bad compared. I would not be surprised if there's a wolf there.

Pral and Cory had an interaction.... In general, if two players are argueing, i tend to ignore it untill there's a flip on either to decide what it was. I read it, but don't pay too much attention to it. 

BFG seems to be trying to catch up. I can understand that work can suck (yesterday was bad for me). It's nice to have her point of view on things. If they're really helpful or informative, we will see in a later gamestage imo

D1 is the worst for most town players. Wolves know their opponents, town needs to find the baddies, which isn't easy. Usually, when D1 and N1 are over, the REAL game starts for most. Connecting dots, finding subtleties in what was said before, that sort of things..

I got a general feeling that the wolves are somewhere in the players who have posted "enough" and had back and forths and whatnot but just feel like they're stalling.

 

I thought about Yates, because he gives me that impression a little. I think that is because it is day one. There's not enough from him to determine his alignment but I think his effort is enough where that's going to translate into content I can read soon.

i wouldn't start to worry that much. We have a viable D1 target, which a lot of players seemingly agree upon. Then we have N1. We can puzzle from that moment on.

I feel like no wolves are in danger after a productive day. Call me a fanatic, but there are still viable moves left before time runs out.

 

I don't want to create a blunder out of thin air, but at the same time, I think as in chess, a great move is better than a good one.

Just a question now: Do you think Rack is trying to defend or not? He should be aware by now that he's a top candidate.

I don't think he's that heavily invested in the outcome (regardless of alignment) and thus, isn't trying to defend. Or even attack opportunistically during the window where that was realistic.

 

A because it's a new board, so he can't have not expected such an outcome with the opener he used.

B because it's day one, so he's not as emotionally invested in the outcome personally, because sometimes people take a while to care about what happens next.

 

However.

 

I think his unvote of Zander means he cares *enough* about the game to eventually make a solid contribution as a townie.

The thought had crossed my mind when I was considering him.

 

Assume he's scum, who is bussing him? Won't be his whole team. Most of the people on Rack will be townies imo.

Straight off the bat, on a Rack scum flip, I'd discount Thane as being scum with him. Corlanna really highly probably not scum with him, they'd be giving him too much valuable coaching and help behind the scenes. I got a general feeling it isn't Yates. Lenlo is probably good. I don't think the scum partner goes nope I won't lynch you after his buddy goes ham on him for no reason, and then later recants... I mean it's possible for town credit but why, when there's probable town powers out there which can catch you even after you get your town credits.

 

If he's scum then probably one, mayyyybe two of Tabor, Hallia, Shad, or Clov are his buddies.

 

Just so I can say I've invested the thought into that outcome in case I'm wrong.

 

And me, well, if he's scum I'm screwed because even being confirmed innocent by scan would lead people to suspect a Godfather, so you absolutely never scan me, it's a waste of a scan in that universe. You vig or lynch me then, early, to recover from the mistake.

That will be something to solve after the flip imo. It could be possible that one or more teammates would be on there, but we'll see after the flip. Rack = wolf, less wolves on train; Rack = Town, more wolves on train
