at page 50:

-Hard time making sense of Sili...

- Alanna has a townfeel to her

- AJ/Nyn feels t/t

- at this point, would agree with a wombat/sili lynch.

(i'm not following current game, will post when there. Just gathering thoughts)

it's my life to do with as i will.

Not if you're town it isn't.

Okay, two things. First off, I know what my role is; so it isn't your decision or anyone else's. I know what my character abilities are and you do not, so only I know the risk.

Second, and most important, your argument would fly if I were scum too. Hell, it's even more imperative I be cautious if I were wolf, because there are less of those, so it would have even more weight.

Running audit btw

Quick and crazy thoughts tho- I almost feel like going in a completely different direction now. I don't wanna clear Salami for the emo cause I'm still worried he could have been trying to force his meta... But he could just be having an off start to this game. He certainly participates at least.

And as far as Sili goes, I'm kinda getting too wolfy to be a wolf vibes, as much as I hate saying that.

I wanna reread Clov and mebbe Wombat later to make sure I'm not losing my mind with either one of those, bit regardless I doubt I'd support a lynch on either today

So why not instead go for one of the slankers? Normally I hate blind lynches and lynching a slanker would certainly give us less info, but at the same time I like creating an environment where the pressure is on pretty much everyone to prove their towniness, and we might be off to a good start here

Anyone else think that might be the way to go?

Just thinking out loud, but that may favor wolves more than towns.

Csarmi feels overly defensive of Hallia to me.. page 60-ish...

Thans to Des for not keeping his vote and giving me the chance to catch up, i will try not to disappoint

hurry up with your hot sauce so i can be the first to comment. I'm ready

After reading through the entire thing, here's my feeling about the players

1. Hally: Could be town... but more leaning scum for the moment.
2. AJ: Town
3.SickPuppets: need moar
4.Thane: town
5. Pral: need moar
6. Clov: don't feel him this game.... scumlean.
7. Leelou: town
8. Verbal: null, need to see more.
9. Des: townlean
10. Alanna: looks town to me, so far.
11. Yates: trying hard to catch up, willing to give some more time
12. Csarmi: all over the place, have the feeling he's not his usual self... scumlean
13. Wombat: null... some things seem town, others . don't...
14. Sili: looks more town than anything else, but not completely off the radar. Mainly because i haven't played with him before.
15. Tommy: Town
16. Nyn: town

catching up 70 pages is a [censored], but i go with my gut more than pulling quotes for the moment. Will try to be around and respond in realtime

Kk catching up in full, pgs 65-69:

Thread feels villagery this morning.

First stop. Thread did seem villagery. Upon reread too. Carefree chatter. I wouldn't be surprised if all participants were town actually. May even include Thane though he is way too obsessed with how he looks. Jury out on Sili. I can see how Hally might see spamming there tho.

See I disagree entirely with that premise, that carefree chatter makes the thread "villagery"

Carefree chatter at the start of games is IMMENSELY easy to fake as scum, so.... yeah I thought Hallia questioning that made a ton of sense

Des one thing you need to become aware of at some point in your life is that you're not always going to be right. You're going to be right about strong villagers leans ~85-90% of the time because the game starts with ~70% villagers and if someone goes 50% out of their wolf range then they're already 85% a villager. But if a player starts at 30% wolf and cuts their villager range in half they're still a wolf 65% of the time. That means you're gonna be inaccurate 1/3 of the time even with correct information. So what do you do? You weigh the reads of your strong villagers. If someone you read as 90% villager has reasonable doubt on your 65% wolf read, then it's more like a 50% wolf read and you can probably find someone better. It's why I'm consistently aware of how Clov appears scummy because I have experience with him as a wolf, but why I'm not crucifying him because AJ is reading him town and I'm weighing that read because thats good enough for now. So you could do yourself and all of us a favor by seeing the game from a team perspective instead of declaring that people that disagree with you are >rand scum because A) you're not gonna be right all the time and B) if you're grinding against several players with good intuition or strong ability to read other specific players (think Salami <-> Tress last game) then you need to reconsider your own position. So who are your top 2 villagers? Try weighing them more when they're confident about something, even if it doesn't match what you think. (And don't form top villagers just based on if they agree with you already.)

1. All that percentage crap is so meh to me. Mafia isn't a game of precision it's a game of intuition. I personally feel the percentage stuff is pretty much 1000% posturing

2. Get off your high horse. You freaking give out town reads for people that mindmeld with you even easier than I do. Early in a game there is NOTHING wrong with saying - "Huh, that person is seeing the same things as me, maybe they share alignment with me". As the game goes on, and as your reads adjust, you can go back and look to see if they had legit reason to see those same things or were parroting/buddying you. I certainly do that.

3. I don't care how strong of a town lean I might have on someone D1- I will basically never trust their intuition over mine since I don't know their alignment. Now, if a BUNCH of people I generally trust are all feeling the same way about someone, THEN I am willing to just sponge off them. But your argument that I should reconsider my fairly strong town read on someone just because someone else who I think is town is bringing weak stuff against that person, well then, that's a crappy argument.

The fact that she's willing to respond in depth to Des but basically brushes you off despite you trying to help her?

Yup.

And i had the same experience earlier too. Which makes me tinfoil very hard on her. You know there was that turbo where i was seer and soulread her day one. It's as if she's afraid to look into my soul.

:vomit:

Yes her ignoring me worries me a little too. I believe that I do rub her the wrong way and Leelou reinforced my belief. It's just that I talk first think second and she's the other way around. And it probably galls her for real that I practically told him (correctly but that don't help in fact it hurts) that she doesn't know the first thing about how to read me.

I'll review her annoyance towards AJ when I get there but it seemed honest there.

.... this is such immense bullcrap

You were all about taking credit for getting Hallia to come out of her shell, yet you parrot Tommy when he says she was ignoring you

Like.... wut de hell?

I'm sure she's capable of being crafty I just don't think it was necessary at that point.

Dunno. Most would remember that game anyway and I'm so deeply in my town range I doubt I could be mislynched here. The question is whether she would think I could be...

And yes I think she probably would.

Yea she's town here.

Basically I despise bolded. Like I seriously just wanna stab that post in the face

Sili's OP felt like a forced casual post from an experienced player.  The joke about only scum claiming town and then saying he had wanted to be scum but rolled town with the eyeroll added in.

Thane for some of the tone things that Des seems to have seen.

As for you and Salami, I didn't like your hedge on Thane where you said that you might back off if others piled on.  Salami calling w/w on Des/Thane felt a bit chainsawish to me.

So, you base my scum lean on something that someone else might have picked up..... that's pretty thin imo. I'm more interested in your own personal opinion.

glad you're in the game though Wombat, been a while since we had a game together

This reads as a w/w interaction. Not just the hot and cold, but the "hey, it's been so long, we're obviously not on a team together!" type commentary comes from wolves more than you'd think.

See now THIS actually kinda makes sense, despite me not seeing all that other stuff yall said about Wombat

Will keep this in mind, especially if we get a Thane flip

Okay nvm. Just got hold of him on Skype. He says he didn't have access to the net and wasn't aware the game started. He should be here.

Such bullcrap btw. He says he doesn't have net access all the time, yet just a couple days ago was still signing up for games. Seriously wish Mods would stop allowing him to sign up for games, him pulling this crap has jumped the shark big time

(chopped out Verb iso)

What I got out of this was... basically nothing. A one-two with Thane and a short stint with Salami. Both were prod-and-retract interactions. As it stands I have no idea what Verb will say when he begins posting in this thread, and I don't like that. Despite being around at the time he completely ignored the Clov/Lee interaction, which would be the first thing I'd expect him to react to.

I also  this post a lot. I was already thinking Verbal could be one of the top slankers to earn a vote, considering he himself even defended his "new" meta of having more thread presence early on, yet he has had like zero thread presence. Seeing his posts in iso.... yeah he looks turrible

1. The way he backed off his FOS of Thane so quick was wolfy imo (and actually makes Thane/Verb almost more likely of a scum pairing than Thane/Wombat)

2. As scum he kinda makes a point of defending weird stuff about himself- like he cares more about defending his meta in general or his mafia skill level than actual game events. When he defends himself as town it usually has much more to do with actual things he's done in THAT specific game

3. Also didn't like the part where he talked about the meaning of "rand". It was pointless, had no value to the thread, and he was basically too "political" in his wording there, a bit too careful not to step on Nyn's toes, and again as scum Verb will often have more side discussions about stuff like that as opposed to concrete gameplay stuff

Dun dun DUNNNNNHHHHHHH

Thane/Verb def look like possible scumbros to me. Associative reads and whatnot, but still

Oh and btw Thane this reads list was complete crap, sorry to be harsh

@Despo - yea I kind of had the feeling that Hally wouldn't look me in the eye cause I can read her soul. But later on my reread I changed my mind. And having her strong town lean now... With a little tinfoil.

Blue: Nynaeve

Light blue: Hally, Leelou, Tommy

Green: Sili

Orange: Verb, Thane, Alanna

Red: Wombat, Clov

Too many wolves IMO.

And no Despo I dunno where I stand on you. At all.

well, i tried to get feels for people when catching up 70 pages this morning. I'll stick with my little list for now, and will be around more for some real actual gameplay. That list might hold, or not, depending on how the game goes.

Verbal is null for me because he's not around enough. I get poked by a lot of people, and his case on me doesn't actually worry me. If i'd be worried everytime someone typed my name, i wouldn't sleep anymore. I do understand why you'd think either Verbal or Wombat would be wolf with me, but i'm not wolf. Both of them could be though

Let's a see where I stand and what I left.

AJ is Townish read but mixed. Wouldn't lynch.

Despo... Later with a cool head maybe. Not gonna lynch.

SP and Pral are null.

I liked Yates catch up but that's not enough to make me form a read. Weak Townish. Not pursuing.

it was a lot to catch up. Some 1vs1, 2vs1, but that's normal gameplay i'd say. Pointed out what seemed interesting in my little readslist, acting more on gut feeling than anything else for the moment
