So let me make this very clear.

 

I believe that the way Despoo was questioning Hally was probably the best way to kill her WiM and ensure that we can't figure her out.

I believe that it called for me to intervene especially cause i wasn't able to resolve her slot myself at all (explained above).

I believe that Despo suggesting that we should resolve her slot now (can't quote the post but it sounded like he was making an argument of "oh let's lynch her now cause even if she's town...") was scummy.

 

This lead me to believe that Despo is either being arrogant and not self-aware and wrong (he should know Hally) or he was looking to pysh a mislynch.

 

I will have to read through again to determine which.

 

Bolded: Never happened. I never said we should lynch Hallia anyways even if she's town or anything, and you never called me out for that at the time I was questioning her

I disagree with this entirely, and I really don't see how you could genuinely reach that conclusion.

 

If Hallia is town I'd like to know soon so we can move on to a better candidate AND because it's usually not difficult to mislynch her as scum (if she doesn't have a PR claim to bail her out, and even then she's still been lynched before) so I'd rather resolve her slot sooner rather than later

 

 

I think it's pretty evident from the bold that he was talking about getting a read on her - not offing her for a flip.  Otherwise you're basically saying Despot suggested potentially mislynching her so that she can't be mislynched.

Basically the whole point of it is that you're rushing to the defense of someone WHO DOESN'T NEED IT

 

I wasn't crossing any lines or just being rude or a jerk to Hallia- I was pressuring someone who seemed scummy to me at the time. So no reason to defend her on those grounds (that I was being a meanyhead jerkface)

 

The only other reason you'd be justified in defending someone like you did was if you had a hard town read on them and thought they were being prepped for a mislynch, but it's clear from your comments at the time that you DID NOT have a hard town read on Hallia

 

Ergo, you were WKing her. And that isn't a good thing.

To further expand on that point Csarmi-

 

I wanted to resolve Hallia's slot- which doesn't mean just lynch her for the sake of lynching her to get a flip, it means determine her alignment. Imo the best way to do this is to pressure her. This didn't used to be the best way with Hallia, since she tended to ignore pressure as both town and scum. But recently she has shown a commitment to participating more and thus will react if you press her for a reaction

 

You on the other hand, were basically saying you thought it best to coddle Hallia like a small child, and encourage her instead of pressure her. But first of all imo that's kind of insulting to her, since she has matured a lot as a mafia player and can withstand a lot more pressure, and it's also not an effective way to scumhunt. It can easily lead to you misclearing her, and alternatively like I pointed out (and what I now believe to be the case) it can let you look like her knight in shining armor and protecting her from big bad Despot, in other words SCUM WHITE KNIGHTING A TOWNIE

 

Furthermore, I KNOW that you do this easily as scum. Just look at last game for instance (the erm... w/e it was in Thak). You were scum, Tress was town, and you felt Tress was getting picked on so you rushed to her defense, and even made it clear both in the QT and in the thread afterwards that you did so because you would have townread her anyways and you didn't want her to feel bad. I think you just like WKing townies as scum

Guys, I really cannot keep up with this level of posting. Not sure if I'm going to be able to stay in if you guys keep up at this level. 

 

Clov, fyi - that sort of gambit wouldn't work on me anyways. I'm always snarky. I've liked some of your other posts, but what you were trying to do with me seemed sloppy. It does just go to show you really don't know me well enough to try to pull that. 

 

Des - the way he's working in thread is giving me a slight town vibe on him. I liked the way he was posting with Hallia just now, but I could see him doing it as scum as well. Right now, he's on my high null/low townie list. 

 

AJ - I don't get why you are so hung up on wombat. Can you give specifics in his posts as to why you are getting a scummy vibe? I still have wombat as null. I have a hard time reading him this early.

I like Hallia's most recent posts, not willing to vote her today if she keeps it up. She's much easier for me to read when I can see how she's thinking.

Yates - getting a good vibe from his catch up and him saying he's not going to run any gambits. Always watching him though. 

 

Tommy, I have him as null because I just don't trust him. He's a great player, but I haven't ever really paid attention to him much to get a solid read on him on my own. (He posts far too much for me). I'm going to defer to my town leans to read Tommy.

Thane always comes across as scummy. I don't really want to turn him into a Blackhoof where we vote him every D1. For me, his actions are a bit clearer after a day or two. For the moment, I have him as null.

Alanna's posting seems very fluid, nothing forced. I'm putting her in my town pile for now.
