So here's the thing.  I'm going to go ahead and say that if we do go for a lynch on one of red/Tommy tomorrow that it is Tommy.  Does anyone have the slightest of issues with that?  I'm substantially more confident in that lynch than a Red lynch and I am seeing both of their names pop up enough together that it looks to me like scum trying to tie a townie to a scummer to clear the stench of scum when the townie flips.

More than anything I want to fight to stay alive so Mak can play. I invited him weeks ago and I feel bad if I get lynched on D1 due to my own mistake. I wanted to play with him and show him another site because he's new but really enjoys mafia games.

 

So that's where I'm at. I'm behind, I'm in a hole, I wanna live, and I'm angry about it. Cut me some slack and it'll pay off because I'm reasonably good at scum hunting once I have full information.

FYI, tone of the big reasons I started in on Cory was something Red already mentioned.  The Spurs lovefest felt excessive and forced to me.  Looked like a possible attempt to keep the game from starting with spam and didn't feel like town/town.  I figured that since Despo is the Spurs fan and Cory is more into #Alliance type stuff that Cory was the more likely scum buddier there, so I went after him.  Since then though, Despo has been dropping scumtells that he knows I use, which leads me to believe he is WIFOMing his alignment, which is not something he has felt the need to do as town lately imo.

 

Cory wasn't ever posting any Spurs love. He's a Heat fan, I'M the Spurs fan. We were exchanging pleasantries like we always would at the start of the game

Does nobody here understand that Cory is not omniscient, and neither am I? I was quite convinced he was scum due to his behavior -- others even agreed with me on this. What changed between then and now that makes me lock scum for believing that? Why is nobody considering the obvious -- that both of us were just wrong? I invited Mak to hydra with me so he could try playing with a new crowd and a different culture, one I had hoped was more mature. Instead, we're having emotional meltdowns and town-town suicide pacts based on NOTHING that escalated for NO REASON. I even told Cory I wouldn't have time to push him and his reaction was to turn around and call me lock scum and then purposefully bait me into killing myself? That's ridiculous, even if he was right. All he's done is detail D1 and I want to try and piece this game back together.

 

VOTING ME IS LAZY, pure and simple. I am not scum and I cannot believe how many people have come out of the woodwork yet nobody is saying "huh, I wonder if they were both just wrong." You're giving scum not one but TWO free town deaths in a game this small by continuing to FOS me over a MISUNDERSTANDING.

that outrage is neither mock nor forced.  it was a complete a-hole move and he's auto-banned from any mafia games i run in the future.  if a game is frustrating you the way it was with cory you either lay in the bed you made or you ask to be replaced.  you dont flip the bird to the game mod and then take your ball and go home like a two year old.

 

my outrage at this comes more from a game designer aspect, because a move like that can seriously screw up a well balanced and tightly thought out game.

linking players is a bad thing because its you setting up future lynches. you dont clear or condem someone based off another persons actions, it just leaves you open to being played hardcore. and i did point out who you were linking (Darthe & Dawn, you even commented on it)

 

it may show that your not skimming like Vos is; but it also shows you trying to set up future lynches.

Cory is an emotional player, but he's also good at AtE as he showed in a recent game where he won as a SK, but made the game generally less enjoyable for everyone else while doing so. I was trying to keep the game from going that direction again. I failed. /shrug

what happens in another game ha no bearing on this one. from where i stand it looked more like you were capitalizing on Corys emo metl down by making it the focus of the game for multiple pages and pushing actual game content to the background (like the RTE stuff and Wombat going at Cory like that, which still feels forced to me)

 

 

4. linking Darthe and Dawn and saying Darthe was coaching Dawn - here goes that linking thing again lol (seriously, anyone who doesn't see Red's case against me as insanely forced is dumb or scum). Dawn was parroting what everyone else was saying, but her "Your defense isn't good Cory" didn't seem like something derpDawn would say, so I thought she might be being coached, and I remember Darthe giving her an "Attaboy" not too long ago. The point I made wasn't that far fetched, and certainly wasn't scummy

 

and my point was that if Darthe and Dawn are scum together Darthe isn't stupid enough to go coaching her on thread when he has a perfectly good QT to coach her on. and to point this sort of FoS is not only sloppy for you but is also lolreaching.

 

speaking of Dawn, i also noticed that you decided to drop that bone. i dislike it when a person digs in hard on someone then suddenly does an about face. both you and Tsuki have done this on Dawn.

i think halia is doing damage control to make sure that cory's actions dont reflect on her outside of this game.

 

other than that, they seem like damage control, which for my is always a ping when it comes to Hydras.

Firstly Cory is emoing but I see a banned above his name so i might refrain from talking about his posts till the end cos I don't know where it's all headed.

thats a weaksauce reason to dodge any interactions he had on thread and to pressure people about it. and the banned thing appears to be a self-title, as its in the user title area of his bio. i'd have to ask verb to be sure, but that still has no bearing on how people who are still in this game reacted to him.

 

as Mynd said, we have to make lemon aid out of the situation, at best we have a known townie now to base our reads off of, which gives us a better chance to lynch scum today.

Also here on this page though was Tsuki coming in and making jokes which is odd. From what ive seen from Tsuki is hes generally much more into the game and pretty good at casing. Want more.

Been my experience that players worried about their meta are worried about their meta showing.

 

i think meta is over rated personally. but Vos brings up a fair point, the only players worried about their meta are scum.

 

theres a difference to being worried about how your meta is being shown in games and being concerned with being consistent about it; and taking issue with people developing cases based souly on meta. the first is what Player is doing, the 2nd gives me the warm in fuzzy's to see people relying on meta get played by it

Shouldn't we look at a Tommy vs RTE train instead....since RTE is still the lead train?  If we need to switch to a Tommy vs Despo train tandem, sure thing but RTE got popular for a reason.

 

RTE is getting heat for 2 things, i agree they're scummy but imo Tommy and Despo are far more scummier and give more info right now. i'm not saying to rush a lynch on them, still plenty of time before deadline. but i want more pressure on Despo and Tommy because they are top of my list.

 

hell we've got enough players (if everyone would start being more active and check in <_< ) we could do three trains easily.

She says Dap was trying to thunderdome with Lenlo, a silenced player, which would look bad if there was ANYTHING about Dap's post that indicated he wanted to thunderdome with Lenlo. Instead it just makes Red look MEGA sketchy for trying to misrep Dap like that.

 

Then she pulls the "I don't normally like _____, but you talking about ______ is a good point regarding her comment about Mynd and meta. Gross.

 

Lastly, the ol "RTE looks scummy, but there other two players look scummier" obligatory attempt at leading town part (as far as saying who the competing trains should be on)

At the risk of sounding like I am DISTANCING, making no sense appears to be a staple of Red'd town game and I wouldn't vote her today purely because she appears to have conviction even if she is horribly wrong 96% of the time. A townie is a townie, and you don't lynch townies.

Correct.  Also, going after "linkers" is part of Red's game regardless (to my irritation many times), so Despo attacking her for it is pretty meh.

Does nobody here understand that Cory is not omniscient, and neither am I? I was quite convinced he was scum due to his behavior -- others even agreed with me on this. What changed between then and now that makes me lock scum for believing that? Why is nobody considering the obvious -- that both of us were just wrong? I am NOT scum and I am frankly getting annoyed at your results oriented play that allows scum to EASILY place me on the lynch list with NO RESISTANCE from the town because Cory made an unbelievably stupid play.

Des has two choices, which he picks will depend on his alignment and his stubbornness:

 

1. Retract his absurd "case" on me that says my reaction was fake. Guess what, tough guy? It can't be fake if I meant it.

 

2. Double down on his read and ensure he gets himself lynched after me because his myopia will be scummy instead of just lazy play.

 

You let me know which you're up for, I really am about out of patience.

 

I invited Mak to hydra with me so he could try playing with a new crowd and a different culture, one I had hoped was more mature. Instead, we're having emotional meltdowns and town-town suicide pacts based on NOTHING that escalated for NO REASON. I even told Cory I wouldn't have time to push him and his reaction was to turn around and call me lock scum and then purposefully bait me into killing myself? That's ridiculous, even if he was right. All he's done is detail D1 and I want to try and piece this game back together.

 

VOTING ME IS LAZY, pure and simple. I am not scum and I cannot believe how many people have come out of the woodwork yet nobody is saying "huh, I wonder if they were both just wrong." You're giving scum not one but TWO free town deaths in a game this small by continuing to FOS me over a MISUNDERSTANDING.

And yes, I'm a little mad that nobody seems to understand these basic concepts when I brought my friend here to play BETTER GAMES with BETTER PLAYERS.
