The winner becomes a candidate to challenge to World Champion Viswathan Anand in a match later this year, but aside the the potential glory of becoming the 16th world champion, which Kramnik wouldn't since he is already the 14th, that means a minimum of a million euros for who loses that match.

At this moment Carlsen and Kramnik are both losing the final game! So if Kramnik draws and Carlsen loses, it is Kramnik who is challenger, otherwise it is Carlen who goes through. Seems by the positions impossible for either of them to win their games!

Aronian must have been distraught earlier. He finished the tournament by almost mating Radjabov, so on a high note, This has been a great tournament. Now the victor is in a very theoretically chessic style, who manages potentially to draw.

So Ivanchuk's just got an extra pawn, the b6, and in regards of the tournament situation, that's the only way for anything to change, the only relevant thing is if Kramnik manages to find a way to draw, a very difficult thing. Seems a very difficult thing for Carlsen to draw, I hear he can resign, but one shouldn't resign too soon.

Anywone can blunder, and Ivanchuk as lost on time many times. We'll have to wait.

Ok the 6 time russian champion Peter Svidler ended the tournament very well, beat Magnus Carlsen. Now last game of the tournament, Ivanchuk-Kramnik is likely a win for white, but so much hangs on whether black might find a way to draw. Looks like Carlsen will become the next challenger.

Ok, Vlad gave up, Vassily won, so Magnus will be the challenger! amazing sport is what is what it is. A draw would have been enough in the end! Very deserving for Carlsen! Now he has to beat Anand!

It is Anand-Carlsen the world championship match later this year. As is in tournament, Aronian and Kramnik and the other great players did not manage to win above the pre-tournament favourite Carlsen.
