One of the former President's of the United States. He took office after Nixon resigned and lost his re-election bid to Jimmy Carter. He wasn't the greatest statesman of our times, but he pulled the country back together after the scandals of Richard Nixon.

Um excuse me boss, but I must make a correction. Gerald Ford was never elected. He replaced Nixon first VP who resigned because of some Insurance scandal. But Ford is the only person to be president but was never elected. So he lost his election to President, not re-election.

Well no but he is the first president to re-place a president who resigned.

Well yes. He wasn't even elected as Vice President.

Oh and since Nixon is the only American President to resign mid term I think the last point is a pretty safe bet.

He wasn't elected because he replaced Spiro Agnew (coolest name ever) who had his own scandal apart from watergate as Vice President- he was chosen by Nixon

Don't totally agree with everything he did politically but I certainly respect him, he had more integrity than the vast majority of politicians today.
