OOC: ok so one post from each of us was lost. In the first post Nakor went through his morning exercises and then waited rather impatiently for a new student to meet him. In the second post Aslan had breakfast and then found the location where he was told to meet his new instructor. This post ended with Aslan's oh so casual "hello".

IC: "That's 'hello, Sir'. I worked hard for this Sword pin. Now then, you are here to learn to channel Saidin for the glory of the Dragon Reborn. You may not know this but channelling can be very physically draining, as can the rest of the training you'll receive here. As such, I will be pushing you to the extreme of your physical abilities."

Jumping down from the wall Nakor could see that Aslan had several questions but those would have to wait. This meeting was not to teach but to push the physical boundaries of the student so that they were better prepared to recieve their instruction later. "What we do today I will expect you to do every day, at least until you earn your own sword pin. Now follow me, and don't fall behind."

Nakor took off running. He kept the pace steady and just shy of a sprint. He knew Aslan wouldn't be able to keep this pace for long but he needed to know how long. He would be pushing Aslan beyond what Aslan even thought he was capable of. They'd made only a few laps, and still had several more to go, when Aslan just up and stopped. Nakor turned back and stood over him, "Oh no, we're not done yet. You may think you can't handle any more but I know better. I know that your body is capable of more than you think it is. You'll find out today just what you are physically able to do when you truly push yourself beyond your limits. Now get up and run!!"

OOC: I like torturing people!!

"That's 'hello, Sir'. I worked hard for this Sword pin. Now then, you are here to learn to channel Saidin for the glory of the Dragon Reborn. You may not know this but channelling can be very physically draining, as can the rest of the training you'll receive here. As such, I will be pushing you to the extreme of your physical abilities." Aslan looked lost at the man, this confused him even more. No it couldnt be so, this place looked to organised for what he had heard of the mobs who used to follow those false draons, unless the rumors in the wind was true. His head spun a litle at that thougth, but what was it about him learning..

"What we do today I will expect you to do every day, at least until you earn your own sword pin. Now follow me, and don't fall behind." the words interupted his line of thougth, what would they do...new questions bubled up in his mind. But as he looked up he saw the man start runing and the words came to meaning for him.

Aslan started after the man, afterall what choise did he have, he didnt know where he was or why, and those was just a few of his questions. He ran though soon became aware he was not ment for this sprinting and he couldnt catch up with the other man. Taking to his side he stoped, this was geting him nowhere, this was what one had horses for, transportation. He looked up at the sound of the return of the man.

"Oh no, we're not done yet. You may think you can't handle any more but I know better. I know that your body is capable of more than you think it is. You'll find out today just what you are physically able to do when you truly push yourself beyond your limits. Now get up and run!!"

Aslan looked at the man, even if a soldier or general or whoever the man was, and though he knew he should keep his identity hiden it was so tempting to answer back, telling who he was and demanding some respect for beeing a noble. He had to do this difrently thoug, he did have a horse with him and even with his identity beeing secret by the horse he should have been identified for more then a poor farmer.

"What is the point of this runing?" he looked at the man, he had as always tried his best to keep the voice respectfull as he always did now to strangers. He had to get answers thoug and runing in a circle didnt give him that.

"As I said before, the point of this running is to increase your stamina and endurance. Chanelling Saidin is much more physically draining than it looks, especially when you're first learning. You're at the Black Tower now and like it or not that means that with training you will one day become an Ashaman and serve the Dragon Reborn by channelling Saidin at the Last Battle-among other things."

There was a look of confusion crossing the man's face and he bristled with pride but Nakor cut him off before he could get started. "Before you get going let me stop you right now. I myself was a noble from Mayene before I came here and while you left before we had the chance to meet I was old enough to have recognized your face when you got here. I'll tell you the same thing they told me when I arrived here."

Nakor helped his new student back to his feet and continued, staring coldly into the man's eyes so he would know how serious he was. "Who you were before you came here means absolutely nothing. Who your family is means even less. You have no place in the world outside of the place you make for yourself here. As a noble you were used to holding a place of command and authority. If you ever want to feel that again you will have to earn it through hard work and training. Understand?"

OOC: Hope you don't mind the recognition thing, I decided that were far enough apart that Nakor might have seen or known him when they were younger but since Nakor was so much younger Aslan wouldn't have even noticed him.

So he hadnt heard wrong the first time, but how could he still learn such a thing. Unless, things started to dawn on him as his thougths where interupted once again..

"Before you get going let me stop you right now. I myself was a noble from Mayene before I came here and while you left before we had the chance to meet I was old enough to have recognized your face when you got here. I'll tell you the same thing they told me when I arrived here."

Aslan looked shoked at the other, only now did he realise the man had mayene looks to him, taking a step back he stumbled at a stone. This was starting to get a litle much on him. He took the hand thoug.

"Who you were before you came here means absolutely nothing. Who your family is means even less. You have no place in the world outside of the place you make for yourself here. As a noble you were used to holding a place of command and authority. If you ever want to feel that again you will have to earn it through hard work and training. Understand?"

Aslan remembered himself, he had known something was wrong, something enough he couldnt go back, had suspected yet denied, and sougth a life on the road, a life without much meaning in lonelyness and hiding. Mayhaps was this bether, mayhaps could he loose himself in here, and he found himself nodding both to the other and to himself.

And as the man took up the sprinting again he followed till he was close to feel his legs failing him, and knowing he needed a drink soon cause his head felt wobly, yet the pain in his body felt good, he felt more alive then he had in long.

Nakor continued running until the man again fell to his knees. Nakor had been training at the Black Tower long enough by now to know the difference between real exhaustion and simply giving up. Unlike the first time, when he had only thought he could do no more this Aslan's body had simply stopped and given out from under him. Nakor jogged back to where Aslan had fallen and waited for the man to catch his breath. "Now you know the difference between what your body can handle and what your mind thinks it can. I want you to remember that and do for me all the pushups you can."

A look of incredulity crossed the man's face but to his credit he didn't argue. After he had collapsed once more Nakor gave him time to recoup and then continued. "Now that your arms and legs have both given out on you, let's work on your abdomen. Start doing situps and don't stop until you must. Let's see what you've got in you."

When Aslan was once more lying flat on his back, but breathing normally again, Nakor chuckled to himself and helped the man to his feet. Nakor led the way to a nearby tree and continued, "Well, now that your arms have had a chance to rest...pullups till you drop!"

Nakor watched patiently from a tree stump as Aslan completed the last part of his workout. After all he'd done so far Nakor wasn't surprised how soon Aslan's arms gave up and he fell on his face. "Today we have pushed your body to the limits and you have seen just how much you're capable of, but you'll find as you go that you can do much more if you keep pushing."

Waiting until he had Aslan's full attention Nakor outlined his daily workout. "Your workout will begin with twenty-five laps around the perimeter of this training arena. This will be followed by one hundred pushups. Then its back to the track for another twenty-five laps and then on the ground for one hundred situps. On your feet again for another twenty-five laps and then use a tree to do one hundred pullups. Follow this up with another twenty-fivelaps and only then can you make your way to the mess hall for breakfast. If you can't do the required number of pushups, situps, or pullups you will do as many as you can and push yourself to do more the next day until you reach the required number."

As they went on Aslan didnt object to the other again, if he was to be a soldier it seemed he needed to train, though it didnt keep his mind from thinking that the man must be insane. And the longer they went for each new exercise he became more convinced of just that, and he started wondering if it was really worth it when it finaly seemed they where done.

He looked shocked at the other when he heard what was expected of him, he would be up before dawn to even have a chanse to finish before what they considered breakfast time here. He sat on the ground still trying to get his breath back not to say hope his pained muscles would start trob, and waited to hear if it was something more he needed to do like climb a mountain or two. Where he earlier had thougth maybe this was ment to be he had now major doubts, not to say questions to what was really in it, sleeping beneath trees didnt sound so bad to him anymore. He kept his mouth shut though with a strong feeling his thougths wouldnt be apriciated by this younger noble who he couldnt place.

"Alright, now get yourself some lunch. And be sure to do that workout everyday or I promise you I will find out, and if I do you'll be doing twice that, and I'll watch you to be sure you do it. Understand?" Nakor got nothing but a nod of the head from the man. "Good, now be off with you, I've work to do."

Aslan bit back a grimace as he raised and the pain flared through his muscles, he was more then happy though to walk away from the man and find some lunch and rest. He needed some answers too he descided.
