Drinking Mafia

This was discussed lightly in a game recently but I was wondering if people would actually be interested in playing a quick mafia game with rules that extend to drinking (as in alcohol). If we get enough willing people we'll need four other things: A setup, a time, a "place", and rules.

 

A setup is easy enough to make, I'm thinking the first time we attempt this it should be a basic game and if things go well we could try again some time with more advanced roles. I'd like to also get a designated moderator if we could. Someone who isn't drinking and would be willing to mod the game for us.

 

A time is slightly more difficult especially when everyone is in end of the year crunch time with work and gift finding and such. I think it'd be best to just pick a day (friday?) that suits the most people and go with it. A specific time will be needed as well. Since it's supposed to be a drinking game I'd say start no earlier than 4PM (I know, different timezones, we'll deal with it as best we can I guess) and no later than 8PM. The game itself should have extremely strict deadlines (I'm thinking 30mins per day, 10 mins per night) so we can get through the entire thing in one night.

 

A place could be easy or difficult. I personally think this would work best via some sort of chatroom and that's what I'd aim for myself. But we need to make sure everyone can get in the chatroom and such so specific Instant Messengers may not be the best idea. I think there might be websites that host chatrooms we could use or something but I've never looked into it. Also we'll need a service that will allow the mod and the mafia to communicate privately with each other. If worse comes to worse we can do it either here on the forums (maybe a bad idea since we'd be skipping the mod queue) or on quicktopic but I think we'd all have much more fun in a live chat.

 

Rules will probably be fairly arbitrary but we should nail them down if we're doing it. I think I initially said something like take a shot every time some one votes you. That could be somewhat unpleasant so let's not do that. I'm thinking take a shot for every player that is killed either by lynching or mafia shooting but if you have ideas you think would be better please post'em. The thing I'm actually kind of worried about is that that many shots might still be too much for some players. I guess we wont have hard limits on whatever rules we make up but the idea is to play mafia, get drunk, and have fun. So if you're a light drinker just drink what you can handle and have fun with us, we don't want you getting sick!

Im in. But tbh, most every game of Mafia I play is a drinking game. Anyone who's ever seen my random, incoherent posts has to notice that whenever I'm at my most active is when I've been drinking.
