Who represent Mordred?

As most of you know, RJ took alot of inspiration from the legends of King Arthur. For example, Rand took the "Sword" That Can Not Be Touched, from the "Stone" of Tear. Other examples include the names of characters and their content. Artur Hawkwing's middle name, Paendrag is taken from Pendragon, the name of Arthur and his father Uthur, who were both High Kings, just like Artur Hawkwing was.

But my point is that most of the major characters could be found to be based on one of the Arthurian Legends.

Who do you think is based on Arthur's nephew, Mordred?

Most say it's Moridin. This makes sense, since Moridin is going to end up fighting Rand. Mordred was the person who killed Arthur and according to the Prophesies, Rand must die to live. So it would make since that the person who will "kill" Rand, who is based somewhat on Arthur, to die at the hands of ther person based on Mordred.

Another person, whose name actually better matches Mordred than Moridin does, is Mordeth. Mordeth is a name used by Padan Fain at a few times in the series. Fain wants Rand dead. So it would make sense for him to be based on Mordred as well.

Who do you guys think is based on Mordred, and why?

Galad has a familiy connexion with Rand and Mordred was Arthurs son.

Nope....Mordred of his nephew, Morgana, his sister's son by her husband. Morgana helped Mordred kill Arthur to secure the throne. The idea that Morgana and Arthur had an incestrious relationship to conceive Mordred is an idea that came later, but was not part of the orginal legends

And Galad is not going to kill Rand. He's going to help him fight the Last Battle.

I say it's either gonna be Fain or Moridin who kills him.

1. Moridin/Moerad

2. Mordeth/Fain

3. Demandred

4. Moiraine

5. Gawyn

Gawyne is based on Sir Gawain, another of Arthur's nephews and a Knight of the Round Table.

That's the obvious one, but RJ avoided direct parallels, preferring to mix and match them. Merlin is Moiraine, Thom, and the Amyrlin Seat. Moiraine is Merlin, Morgan Le Fay, and Mordred. Etc.

Gawain is also Arthur's nephew and he is the Knight that Gawyn is based on.

There are no 'original legends' that we know of, and RJ drew from many eras of Arthurian legend. The names themselves are for the most part adaptations of Welsh legends.
