Rand and Tel'aran'rhiod

This is just a thought I've just had concerning Rands madness and what has caused it!

Consider what the Wise Ones have warned Egwene about entering Tel'aran'Rhiod in the flesh, that you lose some part of yourself each time you enter.

And also consider that the Hundred Heroes (including Lews Therin Telamon) reside in TAR until they are spun out into the pattern again.

Rands "madness" and hearing LTT started around the time when he started entering the world of dreams(to fight Ishamael and to check on Callandor) and it escallated the more he entered, so how much of Rands madness is from the Taint and how much(bearing in mind this is hypothetical!) how much from entering TAR in the flesh?

There is no evidence that entering Tel'aran'rhiod in the flesh has any side effects, good or bad, on the person who does it. The Wise Ones don't have a real reason why entering Tel'aran'rhiod in the flesh is taboo. They basically say it is evil because it was used for evil. That's just like saying all guns are evil because they can be used to kill people. It fails to acknowledge that there can be legitimate usage.

I don't see where you are trying to go with the heroes waiting in Tel'aran'rhiod. Lews Therin could not have merged with Rand while in Tel'aran'rhiod because he was no longer waiting in Tel'aran'rhiod. He had already been reborn as Rand.

It is true that there hasn't been solid evidence as far as we know that someone loses a part of themselves besides the wise ones warning. However Demandred did try to change rand into Lews Therin in the world of dreams while still in the flesh. Mohgedien (sp) said that she could change Nyneave into a horse so that she would be a horse every time she went into tel'aran'rhiod. The chamge with Nyneave would be to her dreamland body because that is the body that she goes there in.Being Rand was changed, or in the process of being changed into Lews Therin in his physical body and the fact that Rand doesn't know the rules it could have triggered Lews Therins personality to come out. Notice I say triggered, because Lew Therin has been part of him from the begining. After all he is the man himself reborn. There is a possibility that it would have come out at some point without Demandred's help but the change in the world of dreams could have been the catalyst though.

I'm not sure if there is a set number of heros of the horn. Are you sure you didn't get the number from the hundred companions?
