Egwene dream, shadow rising

Rereading Shadow Rising atm and last night I came across one of Egwene's dreams, which made me think of the whole breaking seals situation. Don't have the book on me right now, but basically she dreams of Rand building a wall between himself and her, Elayne and some others. While doing this he says something like, "I have to do what must be done. I won't let you stop me now." So do we know if this dream is related to something that has already happened, or could it possibly have something to do with Rand breaking the seals? Maybe the wall means he has to retrain Egwene and her followers somehow so they don't stop him? Sorry if this has been mentioned before...

It's best not to take Egewene's dreams literally. They are not foretellings like Min's Gift.

It's that one is more an expression of how Rand is isolating himself from his friends out of the belief that will protect them from him and what he might do.

For reference, all her dreams: http://wot.wikia.com/wiki/Egwene%27s_dreams

I think it's even simpler than that, I think the wall is simply a difference in opinion that won't be crossed, and yes it definitely is about the seals.

It is definately true that Egwene's dreams (or Nicola's or Elaida's foretellings) are not as useful a forecasting tool as Min's viewings.

But as Egwene's viewing go, this one seems pretty straightforward. I think it refers to a general division between Rand and the Aes Sedai.

I really don't think this particular quote has anything to do with the seals. The dream takes place in Book Four, and Rand doesn't know what do with the seals (or that he should do anything) until Seven books later when LTT mentions it to him in The Gathering Storm.

Considering the first viewing of a bloody hand comes in book one, and he doesn't lose it till KoD? Or considering that Mat doesn't lose half the light of the world until book 12, when that was one of Min's earliest viewings? I don't think you can attach timelines to the foreshadowing attached to viewings, foretellings or dreams...to me it fits right in with what is going on at the end of ToM. If you can find a better way to use "I have to do what must be done, I won't let you stop me now?", feel free, but it sure as all getout seems like he's talking about the seals there.

I guess it is pretty unlikely for the wall-building part to be that literal, but it would be awesome if such a random dream that most people probably considered insignificant was actually foreshadowing something really quite big in the final book.

As I said above, don't treat Egwene's dreams like Min's fortellings. Many of Egwene's dreams cover events that other characters are experiencing in the same book. (Possibly at the same time of the events, or even after.)

The full dream is:

“Rand building a wall with him on one side and her on the other, her and Elayne and others she could not make out. "It has to be done," he was saying as he piled up stones. "I'll not let you stop me now."”

He's building a wall, not destroying anything. The only way I could see this directly related to the Seals at all would be in a theory where Rand could end up sealing himself up on other side of the Bore to insure it works properly--but that would seem to run against popular prophecy interpretation.
