Mordin's AOL Items vs. Rand's Schools

So, is it a given that the hordes of the Dark will be armed with tools from Mordin's AOL stash? In ToM, Graendal is shocked by the amount of items that Mordin has at his disposal, but he seems rather nonchalant about them. After all of these books, I for one would like to see a sho-wing and/or shocklance in action.

 

If the Dark has these items, IMHO the Light will need the products from Rand's Schools. Imagine an army of steamhorses 'plowing' into a row of Trollocs. I can't find my 'Winter's Heart' book when Rand visited the schools, other than the 'steamwagon' and capturing 'lightning in a jar', I cannot fathom what other innovations the Light will have ready for the last battle? Guns via Aviendha's Rhuidean visions? Mat's 'repeating' crossbow he was working on in ToM?

I think a lot of that won't come into effect until the next age, although in Avi's second trip through the glass columns there was mention of Camelyn's war machines. Maybe the dragons will get mixed together with the steam engines to make tanks? It did seem like the guns (or whatever they were) were created several generations after the last battle though, so I don't expect we'll see them.

 

I also expect we could see some hang gliders put to good use, since that was one of the things that was in production at one of the schools. Maybe even all out flying, since there were people working on what seemed to be airplane wings (powered with someone weaving Air instead of propellers maybe?).

 

Hopefully Mat will stumble through one of the schools and start getting creative. I can definitely see the repeating crossbows coming into the last battle.

 

Also the Light forces will hopefully be smart enough to put to use all of the items of Power in Camelyn, the White Tower, and Rhuidean. Especially all of the devices that Avi found that can be used to communicate over distance (one for each of the generals would make a pretty huge difference). And that ter'angreal library with thousands of books from the Age of Legends could have certainly been put to better use. Maybe someone will figure that out before the end.

the repeating crossbows may be in use by now for all we know. The guy who made them for the band said he was heading to one of the schools to get the Dragons Grant to pay for the expendiature of creating these
