That's true as well... although Moridin has never really behaved all that irrationally when trying to do anything.  Remember the random times he's helped Rand?  Or not just killed him?  Who knows, maybe he already turned back to the Light, and is just sabotaging the Dark One's plans under a veil of sheer lunacy!  Or maybe it's just sheer lunacy!  In some ways, that would almost be fitting... if after all this time, and all the other people saying he's crazy, and us all thinking that he was the only one who really knew what was going on... he really, actually was, just crazy.  ;D

Edit (adding this here instead of double-posting):  I have it!  The reason that the Dark One let Rand use the True Power is because they are one, the True Power and the Dark Lord.  Now as Rand travels it's always there, calling to him, beckoning, seducing him with it's highly addictive nature.  It becomes precious to him, though he dare not use it.  As the last battle gets closer, the weight of it's lure grows stronger and stronger, until he can't go on, and Perrin will have to carry him up the side of Shayol Ghul, into the Crack of Doom, since he can't carry the True Power for him.  Then, when they get in the Crack of Doom, Rand will finally give into the True Power as Perrin watches in horror, but then a spurned Lanfear, mad at Rand for leaving her and at the Dark One for exalting Rand, will tackle him seize his power via the Domination Band and, mad with power and lust, fall into the lava, perishing and somehow resealing the Dark One's Prison.

Then it will cut to Thom Merrilin in a bar somewhere, smoking a pipe and telling the story to some hobbits, and we'll learn that the Wheel of Time is just Lord of the Rings spun out again by the Pattern, or vice-versa, and then he'll wink at the reader and the book will end.

LOL Cirin,

There is another theory that has been debunked. The Bowl of Winds cannot be the thing from books 4 thru 6.

4. Master al'Thor wanted me to ask. Have the effects of the Bowl of Winds been fully realized? Yes, but the weather patterns are so huge that it will still take a long time to normalize everything.
