I heard How to Train your Dragon was absolutely incredible, so I definitely need to see it.

Despite a slow start, "How to Train Your Dragon" has emerged as one of the year's biggest box-office draws and plans to franchise it out are already in the works reports the trades.

Talking on a conference call to discuss quarterly earnings, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg sais that a TV series is in the works along with a movie sequel for release in the second half of 2013.

Dreamworks is also developing an online virtual world and a live arena show along the lines of the "Walking with Dinosaurs" show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

"Dragon", the best-reviewed film in the DWA's history, has pulled in $180 million at the domestic box-office.

It comes as no huge surprise but DreamWorks Animation is moving forward with a sequel to this year's "How to Train Your Dragon" and has already locked all the key voices from the first film reports Variety.

Jay Baruchel, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller and Kristen Wiig will all reprise their roles. While Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders co-wrote and directed the first film, DeBlois will take the reigns solo on both fronts this time though Sanders will remain onboard as an executive producer.

Dreamworks Animation has always been seen as being driven more by profit motive than creative storytelling, unlike Pixar at Disney. 'Dragon' however slightly changed that perception with stellar reviews to match its impressive $489.6 million worldwide so far.

The first film is a kind of prequel to Cressida Cowell's nine-book series on which the property is based. As a result, there's plenty of material for DeBlois to exploit and expand upon to move the story forward.

An early 2013 release is planned.
