Anchorman 2

I absolutely loved the first one.  It catapulted Will Ferrell into superstardom.  Here's some info on the sequel.

"Anchorman" director Adam McKay tells MTV News that he's currently in discussions with Paramount to get the financing for a sequel.

Helping on that front are the cast members - "It's a tricky movie because everyone went and did really well after it, so everyone's prices went up and everyone's time got a little more valuable. But at the same time, graciously, Steve and Paul and everyone agreed to cut their price to come and do [the sequel], which you don't see very often in Hollywood - and cut their price substantially" says McKay.

Yet that still doesn't guarantee a green light - "even with that, it's just a budgetary thing with Paramount in terms of how much they'll give us to make it" says McKay. If they do go forward, some further script work will be done this Fall with shooting to possibly begin as early as next February.

Paramount Pictures looks to have opted out of proceeding with a sequel to comedy hit "Anchorman".

The other day it was reported that the first film's director Adam McKay and the various stars were all for doing a sequel that could shoot as early as February. However they couldn't proceed without a decision from Paramount to finance and green light the film.

Well it seems that decision has been made in the negative. McKay revealed on his Twitter today the following message: "So bummed. Paramount basically passed on Anchorman 2. Even after we cut our budget down. We tried."

So much for that it would seem. Those hoping they could do it elsewhere, McKay quickly nixed that dream as well - "To all who asked: no we can't do Anchorman 2 at another studio. Paramount owns it."

I'm Krakalakachkn, go F**k yourselves Paramount Studios.
