Nominations for the 2009 Empy Awards are now open.

A few things to remember:

These awards are for the time span Jan. 1 2009 - Dec. 31st 2009.  So please only nominate members active during that timespan (i.e. a person who joined in 2010 is not eligible for awards until NEXT year's ceremony).

You may only use the nomination form once, so please think about your choices before hitting Submit, because you don't get a do-over!  Attempting to stuff the ballot box with multiple uses is also frowned upon.

You do not have to fill out every box on the nomination form, so don't feel obligated to pick somebody for every category if you don't know who to pick.

Nominations are only open until Feb. 20th (11 days from today), so get crackin, and don't wait til the last minute.

Please use the person's HANDLE at DM  (so "claireducky" instead of "Claire" or "mother ducker", or "that crazy chick with the stole") and not any other way you refer to them.

The people with the most nominations will be selected as finalists for the award category they are nominated in.  After that will follow a period of voting for the winner.  Only a few people for each category will become finalists, so make your nomination count!

I think that about covers it, if you are ready to start nominating, go here:

Go, go, go, go, go!

PS: If you want to promote the Empy awards, here is a siggy I made (along with the poster) just for it.

Most Amusing Spammer:  This is the award for the individual who was most amusing while participating in spamming during 2009.  Spamming means posting content in threads that doesn't necessarily have to do with the topic, might consist of only one or two words, or any other many various reasons it might be deemed spam.  Most amusing means instead of being annoyed and wishing to throttle until dead the participant, you actually enjoyed their antics.  If they weren't the most amusing, if they weren't a spammer, and if it didn't happen during 2009, then don't nominate them.

Best WoT Discussion Thread:  This is the award for the thread which was the Best for discussing a WoT-related topic during 2009.  WoT= Wheel of Time, of course.  If it wasn't a WoT Discussion, if it wasn't the best, and if it didn't happen during 2009, then don't nominate it.

Various clarifications:

1. You may nominate yourself.  Go forth and be self-centered!

2. You may not use the nomination form more than once.  Because we value your anonymity, you do not have to enter your name on the form, so use the honor system  (Besides, 10,000 nominations for Barmacral as Funniest Poster would be a teensy bit obvious).

3. Some quiet promotion amongst your peers as to who/what threads you're nominating is expected and allowed.  If somebody starts campaigns with buttons and flyers and grassroots phone call movements...well...they'll be dealt with.

4. The Empy boards will be open for you to view shortly, before the voting process for finalists begins.

5. If you have any questions, please PM either your group's leader/moderator, or Kathana, Emperor, Far Dareis Mai, Taymist, or White Wolf.

Edit: You can also PM Kivam if you're really desperate.
