Compulsion vs a'dam.

Recommended Posts

So what would happen if a damane were placed under compulsion?  Typically when a damane disobeys her suldam she is punished with physical pain and/or nausea but could she overcome this punishment if she were compelled to disobey her suldam?  What does everyone think?

On a side note I think it would be cool to see a damane placed under compulsion suddenly turn around and attack her suldam.

The a'dam would prevent them from carrying out the compulsion.  Like when the AS used the Oath Rod to re-swear (I forget who they used it on).  She couldn't tell a lie, and couldn't disobey, so she almost died because she couldn't breath.

It would be like the conflicting oaths.  Maybe it would make a damane keep trying to hurt her sul'dam, and therefore keep hurting herself.

A Damane can easily attack her Sul'dam Compulsion or not. We saw Eqwene punch her Sul'dam when she was first collared.

The problem was, whatever pain the Sul'dam experienced, the DAmane experienced tenfold.  I don't think any manner of compulsion would prevent that.  Also, unless the Sul'dam allowed it, the Damane would not be able to even grasp the Source.
