Physical Description: 5’8, 160 lbs, honey-colored skin, light brown eyes, wavy brown hair.

 

Background:  Maldar Turada grew up on the Sa’las Plains as property to a merchant who was a trader of raken and to’raken.  Maldar spent his days and nights working as a groom caring for the raken and to’raken.  Over the years he grew an affinity for the creatures eventually learning to train them.  Even though he trained both raken and to’raken he preferred the smaller and more agile raken.  He never thought of it as work though, flying became a passion for him.  The feeling of flying was beyond compare to Maldar.

 

Every year representatives of the Ever Victorious Army came to pick the cream of their crop.  Maldar would often accompany the army representatives caring for their stock until they were secure at their destination.  Maldar adored the creatures so much that it saddened him to part with them.  He connected with each and every one that he trained.

 

On one of these trips he was summoned by a der’morat’raken and asked to pick out a raken from the latest crop.  Maldar pointed to a raken slightly smaller than the rest.  This particular raken was a little wild but had an amazing turn of speed and was slightly more agile than the others.  The der’morat’raken said something that Maldar did not grasp.  He was too pre-occupied with remembering his training of the beloved raken that was now beginning its service with the Ever Victorious Army.  

 

Maldar turned a little teary eyed to find the grinning der’morat’raken watching him.  The older man repeated his words and a smile a mile wide formed on Maldar’s face.  He could think of no greater honor than to be a morat’raken in service to the Empress may she live forever!
