Hey everyone what is going on? My name is Chuck and for all wondering the PhailanofKeilfost would be said Failin of Kayle'Fahst. I've had ppl get confused on that one.Ayway big fan of fantasy books, Finally killed Terry Brooks's massive Shannara/Word&Void series then moved onto Terry Goodkind and have basically been obssesed with the Sword of Truth series... The TV show has just killed it for me.

So a friend tells me about Robert Jordan ... never heard of him, crazy I know.So I just started the series I'm halfway through TEOTW and I'm hooked. Looking forward to talking with you all and seeing how the series all turns out. Peace!

When I first saw Legend of the Seeker, I was slightly disappointed it didn't stick to the books. But then I got used to the idea, and like both. One will always be true (the books), and the other is there for enjoyment. There are the rare occasions where the film/TV series is better than the book, and Stardust is about the only one I recall.

 

Anyway, enjoy looking around the site and don't hesitate to ask us questions should you get lost and confused!

I too was hooked very fast - in fact I got hooked already while reading the prologue of The Eye Of The World.  :D

The Orgs are more about rl stuff, just hanging with people and talking about a variety of subjects. Each org has a focus of some kind, books, weapons, etc. The Role play side is about roleplaying as Aes Sedai, or Ogier, or Aiel, really pretty much anything is possible. Totally different but still great parts of the site.

Just like Jaydena said, the Orgs are more of social organizations centered around a theme of some sort (either loosely or strictly held to, depending on the preference of the Org).  Check them out; you're sure to find something you like.  There's also Discussion Groups (more focused and compact versions of Orgs--these stick to one topic only usually), and the Divisions are the groups for roleplaying in the world of Robert Jordan.
