Talk your way out of this...(Faile)

Having dealt with the boy, Faerzyne left Ginae's office, making her way back to the Tower, towards her own humble office. Her steps were unhurried, she had no doubt Faile would have heeded her words and was even now in her office. The wait would do her good, though whether it improved her excuse was yet to be seen.

The bells entwined in her braids tinkled, a sound one would normally associate with joy, though to the novices in the Tower it was usually a sound that inspired dread, the sure knowledge of her presence and the impending chastisement she was no doubt going to administer to the next girl foolish enough to try to break the rules. Why some never learnt, she did not know, but Faile seemed to have a penchant for pushing the boundaries, no stranger to her office.

As expected, the novice was standing by her door, a look of nervous anticipation on her face. Keeping her own expression smooth, Faerzyne's hazel gaze passed over Faile. "Come." She demanded softly, opening the door, knowing the girl would obey and follow. A simple thread of air closed the door with a loud thump as Faerzyne strode behind her desk and seated herself. She did not offer Faile a chair as she fixed her stern eyes on the girl, folding her hands calmly before her.

"Now, you will tell me again why you think you are above the rules." Said Faerzyne. "And I warn you, I am not in the mood for an interesting tale, the truth will suffice." Her eyes glinted dangerously in the smooth mask of her face as she regarded the girl in white, waiting for her response.

"Now, you will tell me again why you think you are above the rules."

Faerzyne Sedai´s tone much more than her next words made it all too clear to Faile that she wouldn´t get away with anything but the blunt truth, knowing that the Mistres of Novices would be able to tell when she was lying anyway. Faile had never been a good liar, but always, no matter if a small or a big lie, her features eventually going crimson had betrayed her efforts to keep something covered and away from people who weren´t supposed to know.

Already while waiting for Faerzyne Sedai to arrive at her study where she had told her to wait before she headed off to the Mistress of Trainees´ study with Danian – Light! Danian…what had she done….- Faile had known that she wouldn’t´get away from here with merely nice storytelling. This woman wanted to hear the truth and all of the truth and after fighting with herself for some time, fighting a battle between her conscience that told her not to give away any actual details, and her reasoning telling her the exact opposite, Faile knew what she had to do, even if it was one of the hardest things she had seen her enforced to do till now.

Slowly and with a surprisingly steady voice, Faile recounted what had happened this night, how she had met Danian in the garden, even how she had received his message and about the occasion when they had first met, though she wented to bite her lip the very same moment, cursing herself for giving that detail away, possibly endangering Tiegan and Dorian as well.

Still Faiel´s main concern was for Danian, having seen the hopelessness and despair on his face when he had turned away from her to follow Faerzyne to the Mistress of Trainees, the expression in his sad eyes feeling like tearing her apart as she was aware of the fact that she was very unlikely to see him ever again. At leasdt not for years until she was Accepted, she knew, maybe even then there would be no way to meet him, or only under close guard by someone. No, if she caught that look on Faerzyne Sedai´s face right, she was happy if she only wouldn’t be able to see him as long as she wore Novice white, knowing she wouldn´t let her go off easily. There was more yet to come. Things that Faile watched with a mixture of dread and despair. Light, Danian…
