First I want to thank everyone involved in the survey, from the staff members that created it and made sure everyone knew about it, to the members who took the time to openly and honestly give us feedback regarding this site's operation.  We didn't want to leave everyone in suspense regarding the results, especially as we'll be using them to inform our decision making process for the planned site upgrade "Dragonmount 8.0" (Yes, the rumors are true.)

Also, members were given the opportunity to give detailed comments in each section of the survey. Many of you took advantage of this to give us specific comments on what we do and don't do right around here. Without discussing any of the comments specifically, here are a few of the most popular topics.

 

 

Many commented that the site is in need of an update and an overhaul in general.  We're in the beginning stages of planning DM 8.0.  We don't have specifics nailed down yet, but here are some general things you can look forward to later this year:

 

-Upgraded message boards

-New, more user friendly DM art gallery

-Updated look and feel to DM

-Universal login across the site (forums, gallery, blogs, etc.)

 

 

We also received MANY comments regarding forum slowness.  That's one of the reasons we're looking into upgrading the forums. We're also trying to increase our tech staff to give us a greater pool of people to draw on for forum issues. We've also discussed pruning forums/threads to give our database less "stuff" to work through as we surf the forums.  This is a pretty complex issue that doesn't have one single solution, so you're likely to see us experimenting with different ideas over the next couple months

 

A vocal minority are unhappy with the color scheme. One of our planned features is the ability for members to choose from more than one color scheme. We're not decided yet on how many "skins" will be available or what themes we'll choose, so look for us to be asking for feedback on that at a later date.

 

Also in response to comments received, we've created a new "Ask the Staff" forum for you to ask questions about the site, the forums, DM history, and probably some topics we haven't thought of yet. If you'd like to be on staff someday, but don't know where to start, this is the place to start. If you have a question about how to best use the features of this forum, we're working on tutorials for them.  This forum also serves as a back up to the help@dragonmount.com address we provide for tech issues.

Question:  Why is this the only question in which the Agree/Neutral were added together?  What is the basis for assuming that those who were Neutral would all like to be lumped in with the side in Agreement?  Since this survey question was followed up with another question about how many orgs people are in currently, is there a push going on to limit the number of Orgs or Divisions that one may be in?

We currently have no intentions to limit the number of Divisions a roleplayer may join, which is why there is no reference to such on the survey.

Sorry that was something I did when presenting the results to the staff.  Obviously neutrality could lean either way as we discussed as staff.  Please do not read into that stat.  As Raeyn said, we were just trying to get an idea of how members felt and currently have no plans to limit the number of orgs you can join.
